Born in Limsa Lominsa to a pair of lower-class city Miqo'te, Eunoia Anbolho (Yoo-Noy-Ah An-Bohl-Hoh) is a merchant, leatherworker, and by some accounts, ruffian currently residing in her home city. Though possessing a good heart, she has a reputation for being rough, blunt, and rowdy, as is common in her home city. Seeking to set out on her own, Eunoia sold much of what she had in Limsa to move to Ul'dah, only to return to La Noscea after being hired on to run a pawn shop there. She is presently a member of the treasure hunting free company, Team Red, who own the pawn shop in question.

Basic Info

At first glance, not much would stick out about Eunoia were it not for the defiant aura about her. Head always held high (figuratively speaking, of course. Her head is, literally speaking, more low to the ground), arms crossed in front of her chest, and her jaw set, she ever looks the part of the tough street cat. Prone to outbursts of temper, Eunoia partly inherited her touchy temperament from her mother, a pirate, and partly from the facts of growing up as a small Miqo'te girl in a place like Limsa Lominsa. Although also prone to being flustered (specifically by women), this often manifests as similar belligerent outbursts, brought on partially by a fear of being made fun of, mostly due to a longstanding inability to express herself constructively. Nevertheless, she takes special care to never hurt anyone that does not distinctly have it coming, and in private, she's extremely gentle.

Eunoia, by trade, is a merchant and leatherworker, learning her craft primarily from her father. In certain circles, she's known for the intricacies of her stitching and her penchant for layering leather into patterns. With the right balance of sturdiness and flair, it's popular with adventurers, and she works primarily on custom orders rather than making a lot things that are ready to sell in a shop environment.

Martially, Eunoia is a brawler, learning how to throw and take punches while growing up in Limsa, due to the denizens' rough nature and her marked tendency to be picked on. When in a fight, she moves quickly, dispatching with the flare of Monks or even Pugilists to simply hit hard and hit fast. Despite being able to hold her own quite well, and for that matter, often starting fights or provoking them out of sheer restlessness, Eunoia has never tried her hand at adventuring or any other martial occupation, and seems reluctant to do so.

Appearance & Personality

Short and with a figure that could be best described as boxy, Eunoia does not at first strike an intimidating figure. However, she has a sharp jawline, flat nose, and large brows that lend a certain hardness to her face, and her expression tends to be equally hard. The Keeper has dark, ashen skin, tinted with blue and constantly marked by cuts, bruises, and some minor scars, the causes of which are a 50-50 split between flights she has gotten herself into and average on-the-job injuries. Her dark red hair is kept quite short, with the edges dyed blonde.
Despite her rough demeanor and appearance, she's quite fond of skirts and dresses. Or, rather, long tunics or similar tops that she can pretend are dresses and cover enough that she needn't wear pants. More often than not, she wears sandals on her feet and has a worn leather cap that she wears when the weather is poor. Rarely does she go for extravagances in outfit or appearance, though, to be fair, she can rarely afford them, and even if she could, she feels self-conscious in more grand outfits. Makeup is generally nonexistent.
Her normal speaking voice is a bit rough, and in the tonal mid-range for Miqo'te women. However, she has a pretty, crooning singing voice, should one be treated to hearing it. She speaks with a very thick Lominsan accent.
Growing up in Limsa was hard for Eunoia. Rubbing elbows with pirates and the like, she quickly developed a rough, aggressive sort of personality that remains in place even around people she likes. She has a strong sentimental side, but absolutely abhors it, making special effort to appear unconcerned and unattached, especially in public. This is largely due to her having a great amount of difficulty articulating emotional concepts, and trying to often simply makes her upset. She also fears that showing her more tender side would get her ridiculed, either by the recipient or onlookers. Likewise, the Keeper makes a point of never apologising.
Eunoia has much trouble dealing with her emotions, which run strong. Lacking adequate ways of expressing them, or otherwise preventing herself from displaying them productively, has led to her forming a prickly, almost violent streak when provoked, flattered, flustered, happy, excited, teased... This is all well and good with rough company, who trade friendly punches all the time, but encountering more delicate people often puts her at odds with herself, as she has few other routes to relieve emotion or tension (especially true of more "ladylike" women, exceptionally true of "ladylike" women that take an interest in her or vice versa). In the absence of a suitable person to throw a punch at, inanimate objects will do. If deprived of her ability to release her emotions physically, she tends to become very distressed, leading to either shouting or to actual fearful behaviour.
Despite all this, Eunoia is endlessly loyal to those she respects, and often looks up to people without them knowing it. She can be highly affectionate with people she's on friendly terms with (albeit only in private), comfortable with gestures usually associated with romance, even if romance itself is not present. Surprising to most is that she is actually very accommodating and understanding of different people's needs and feelings, though she tends to brush that fact off. Flings are commonplace, generally casual, open relationships brought on largely by her difficulty in expressing herself but still very much adoring women.
Her bouts with aggression can be used productively, as well. The fire inside her often sparks for the downtrodden.
Eunoia tends to give people off-the-cuff nicknames, and will often refuse to address them as anything other than their respective nickname.

Present

Some months prior to the present, Eunoia sold off what she could and moved from La Noscea out to Ul'dah, where she set herself up as a leatherworker. She did well for herself, due largely to her specialty in custom-made orders and her willingness to work with the rougher edges of Thanalan's populace. It was in Ul'dah's Pearl Lane that she came across Luna and Lukas (dubbed Ears and Goggles, respectively) of the treasure hunting free company, Team Red. The strange duo caught her attention, as they were acting rather suspiciously. Rather than go about her business or alert authorities, she strode right up to them and told them that they were suspicious and that they had better not cause trouble. An argument ensued about who was or was not suspicious, until Team Red decided they liked her spunk and offered her a job. An argument further ensued over whether she would or would not accept the job, until at last Eunoia gave in, being hired on to run the company's pawn shop in La Noscea. She is presently ever-agitated by the Team's antics, ironically becoming something of the Straight Man of the company, despite in fact being a Gay Woman.

RELATIONS

Romantic Interest     Platonic Love      Good Standing     Poor Standing

Luna Quinn: Eunoia didn't at first care for Luna, only barely tolerating her antics and flirtation, abiding only for the sake of her new position with Team Red and her unwillingness to throw in the towel right away. However, she did eventually warm up to the fellow Miqo'te, as time went on and she was around her more. After an inpromptu heart-to-heart one night, and a not irrelevant amount of rum, the two agreed that perhaps there might be something between them, and they could give a serious relationship a shot.
