Gerrick Darkov (1st Sun, 6th Umbral Moon) is a ninja who currently resides in Limsa Lominsa. Growing up in Ul'dah while training as a pugilist, Gerrick traveled to Limsa Lominsa after hearing rumors of a rogue's guild hidden in a bar. After accepting the call of the rogue, and eventually the ninja, he travels across Eorzea in a quest to find increasingly stronger ways to stab something until it dies, and also an attempt to discover his true past.

Appearance & Personality

Gerrick sports relatively scruffy deep blue hair, aqua eyes, and a rather fair complexion for a Seeker of the Sun. He sports a little scar on his chin, as a result of growing up in the tough alleys of Ul'dah. He appears to be of average height, but is rather tall for a Miqo'te, but still appears shorter than his brother, Derryl. He usually tends to appear bored, or indifferent.

Gerrick is usually a quiet and timid individual, but he hides a surprisingly confident (and aggressive) persona underneath it. He is often focused on his duties, if any, in which case he simply slacks off in the nearby inn until duty calls him once more. Gerrick also has a large tendency to hold very deep grudges against people he has conflicts with, and he will hold that grudge until he is satisfied with the final outcome. He is also known to have an explosive temper when angered enough, so staying away from him in that state is highly recommended. Gerrick also tends to multitask, taking on multiple duties at the same time when he has the chance, despite his companions attempting to dissuade him from doing so, for fear of collapse.

When Gerrick is around his friends or companions, he has a big tendency to be incredibly clingy to them, though not to their particular annoyance. But his clinginess also comes with the fact that he is incredibly loyal towards them, and he will do anything to help them with their needs.

He LOVES stabbing things. Anything that looks like stab bait may or may not be fair game. Be warned.

Biography

Childhood

Gerrick remembers nothing from his past, only remembering that he grew up struggling in the alleys of Ul'dah, where the people were suffering and struggled to survive. He wandered around aimlessly in the city, until he was taken in by the family of Darkov, where he was introduced to his two Hyuran siblings, Derryl and Aria. There, he got to know them a lot more, and they treated him as if he truly was a part of their family, despite belonging to a different race. Gerrick, Derryl, and Aria were often seen with one another, and the locals of Ul'dah had taken to calling them "Two Hyurs and a Miqo'te", which didn't exactly bother them. However, a few days later, his adoptive parents suddenly disappeared. Derryl searched high and low for them all across Ul'dah, while Aria attempted to reach out to Gridania and Limsa Lominsa about their disappearance. But there was no luck. Their parents had simply vanished like aether. It was from this point on that Derryl had to raise Gerrick and Aria all by himself.

Teenage

When Gerrick had reached the age of 14, he decided to learn how to fight. Despite Derryl's initial dissuasion, Gerrick was determined to find out the truth about his parents and his past. Derryl ultimately relented and took him to the Pugilist's Guild, where he could practice his techniques, and he also took Aria to the Thaumaturge's Guild, seeing as she had a natural talent for thaumaturgy. As for Derryl himself, he ultimately left for Gridania in order to pursue the path of the archer. Gerrick learned many things during his time in the Pugilist's Guild, learning how to refine his fists into a powerful weapon, and learning how to beat things to death faster.

Present

As Gerrick grew older, he decided it was time to finally embark on a journey to find his parents. Hearing rumors of a rogue's guild in Limsa Lominsa, he travels there to see if the rogues had known anything about them, since they were always moving in the shadows and were known to have a very watchful eye. He ultimately ends up joining their ranks, becoming more and more renowned with his prowess to wield knives and stab things (which he tends to have a little too much fun with). While the rogues unfortunately had no information on his parents, he still trusted them and continued to perform acts of varying questionability. As he accepts the call of the ninja, Gerrick becomes more and more determined to reach his goals, and eventually stand tall in Eorzea.

Miscellaneous

■ He certainly loves cooking, though if asked to cook seafood, he refuses with a varying degree of exaggeration.

■ Likes to yank his own tail for no particular reason other than amusement.

■ Reacts to the presence of spiders with extreme violence and prejudice.

■ Gives nice hugs. Okay, more like crushing bear hugs, but still nice.
