Basic Info

A former member of the Order of the Twin Adders, Grinnaux has spent the better part of his life studying medicine and its applications. After a number of years spent serving on the front lines with the Grand Company, the middle-aged Elezen decided his skills were better used to help civilians and 'retired', taking up the mantle of a traveling mender. Unlike most healers however, he does little of his work using aether, preferring to treat with his hands and expansive knowledge of potions and tinctures. In recent years he has taken up the hobby of reading any book he can get his hands on, be they fiction or instructional, and tends to travel with at least a few on hand at any given moment. With just about all of his leisure time spent with his face buried in a tome, he can come off as unapproachable, but his pleasant bedside manner carries over into casual conversation as well and he tends to be more than open to a good chat.

Appearance & Personality

Average in height and build for a Wildwood Elezen, his angular features are framed by short black hair and from time to time a pair of reading glasses. Though fit enough, he has something of a sickly appearance, leading some to question whether or not he's ill,, though even if he were it wouldn't likely keep him off his feet for long. He carries a large pack containing his medical supplies with him wherever he goes and tends to dress in simple attire, his relative lack of combat prowess giving little reason to suit up expecting a battle. Perhaps the first thing one might notice is the rather distinctive cap he wears, much to the chagrin of his acquaintances.

On the rare occasions he finds himself on the battlefield as a combatant and not a healer, he defends himself with a knife kept slung through his belt and a very rudimentary knowledge of thaumaturgy, something he picked up more as a consequence of his insatiable appetite for books than any real aptitude for it. He is a pacifist, however, and will do just about anything short of betraying his associates to avoid bloodshed on either side of a conflict. Some have likened him to a mediator of sorts, his words having more than once calmed a situation that would have otherwise erupted into violence, though Grinnau himself would scoff at being given such a title.

Miscellaneous

• Grinnaux has left flyers throughout the adventurers guilds in Eorzea advertising his services as a healer; offering to mend those who are hurt during their work, accompany groups on longer journeys should a regular medic be required, or teach the arts of medicine to those interested in learning.
