Basic Info

A veteran warrior, once a soldier in a Garlean Legion and now an adventurer committed to taking responsibility for his previous action.

History

A highlander from Ala Mhigo, he was only ten when the city fell and the Garlean Empire took control. He was lead to believe his parents died defending the city and he was taken into an orphanage, now under the control of the Garleans. He and many of his peers were indoctrinated into serving the Empire and became soldiers. He truly believed he was fighting for order and a better Eorzea.

He was a member of the VIIth Legion at the Battle of Carteneau. Upon seeing the devastation wrought by the sundering of Dalamud and Bahamut, he came to the realisation of what he was really fighting for - a powerhungry regime that sought subjugation, not order.

After managing to survive much of the devastation, he wandered for a time until he arrived in Gridania. Here he decided he would help to rebuild, and did so for five years.

When he heard of the Garleans making renewed overtures, he decided it was time to put the military training they gave him to use again. This time, it would against his old masters.

Personality

Heinrich is a man tormented with guilt. Feeling that it was his weak will that caused him to be brainwashed by the Garlean Empire, he refuses to let himself be absolved of any blame. At the same time he does not let himself wallow, instead vowing to take full responsibility for what he has done once Ala Mhigo has been reclaimed.

Other Notes

He has facial scars from the Battle of Carteneau, some from the weapons of his foes and others from a fiery explosion from Bahamut.
