Captain Hikari Valentine, born on the 17th Sun of the Umbral moon under the name of Hikari Thorne. She was born in Southern Thanalan and her family became refugees after the calamity. They moved to the island of V'ylbrand for a change of scenery and to find safe haven. Hikari and Her sister, Syra Thorne, were very close through their younger years all up unto the tragic passing of Syra. But due to a turn of events, Hikari felt a reason to change her last name.

History(Full Story)
Though she doesn't remember much of her childhood, she vaguely remembers being in the desert and then suddenly leaving her home with the small family she had. After some time the family found a place to call home, they were in Oakwood near Camp Bronze Lake. Her sister, Syra Thorne, and Hikari as children and preteens would swim in the lake and hunt during the day since their father was either out doing work in Limsa for the Maelstrom or finding ways to make large amounts of coin so he could stay home longer with his family and spend more time with them. It was a happy life, they got away from all the refugee camps, had a nice home near the water, and had a great life. That all changed in one day.
Hikari and Syra we're out doing what they did most days, losing track of time after they traveled from Aleport to visit thier aunt after hunting in the area near by, they rushed home to see no lights were on, an unusual sight since their parents enjoyed the night. Upon the door there was a bloodied note, at the sight of this the sisters rushed in, to find their father sitting in a chair in the corner, throat slit. They ran to their parents room yelling for their mother, and heard muffled screams. They opened the door knives at hand to see their mother being attacked by three men, one of the men with an evil smile turned towards them and said "You have two choices, you can die with your parents now. Or i will give you both scars and you both can run and never speak of what you saw and who you saw. Make your choice." Their mother told them to take the second choice, and go to their aunt's home. The girls listened to their mother and the man gave them each a scar under their eyes. The two sisters ran back to Aleport, the aunt welcoming them.
She asked what happened to them, they said they could not tell pointing to the scars under their eyes. Aunt Styrnlona nodded understandingly and asked the whereabouts of the girls parents. The girls informed her of their passing. She hugged the two girls and gave the two girls safe haven for the coming years. Upon the sisters turning 15, Styrnlona's Husband asked jokingly if the girls wanted to work on the ship instead of always hunting. Hikari and Syra jumped with joy and said "Of course, we thought you'd never ask." He stepped back in shock but took them along on one of the runs and had the crew show them what was the requirements of working on the Lunar. They did it all proudly, their uncle watching over them was proud and glad he asked them. Over the next three years, the sisters worked hard on the ship and worked their way up to Sergeants on the ship. The entire crew was proud of them and their uncle was smiling from ear to ear the day they were recognized by Admiral Merlwyb Bloefhiswyn herself. She asked thier uncle if offering them officer positions in the Maelstrom was something they would like, he said "I would presume they would be honored." She asked the girls and they we're respectfully gave a storm salute and said "Yes mam. We would be honored." In the first year and a half of their service, they went from being storm sergeants to Storm Lieutenants. Upon reaching this rank, their uncle gave them a present, he named them captains of the Lunar the same day they attained the rank of Lieutenant of the Maelstrom.
A few years later, they were entrusted with an important contract of retrieving some particular stolen goods from a smaller Maelstrom trade ship by some pirates. They searched the sea around Vy’lbrand for a couple of days and say an eerie ship. They decided to approach it and saw the described goods. Getting as close to the ship as they could, they took a pirates approach and ordered them to surrender the goods or go down with the ship they were standing on. Three familiar figures standing on the aft of the ship ordered the crew to attack. The Lunar crew beat them to the punch and pressed the attack first. The fight lasted hours, finally coming down to the three captains of the pirate crew with Hikari her sister and the Lunar crew circling around them. The sisters wanting a fair fight threw a dagger into the weakest of the three men’s throat, and ordered the crew to go back to the ship. It was a short stand-off but the sisters were victorious. After being impaled by Syra’s sword, one of the men came back up from the ground. “Remember me girls?” pointing to their scars after taking the bandanna from his face, “I’m the one who gave you those scars. I knew we would meet again, this time with you two having the upper hand. Now this time you won’t have a choice. One of you is going to die.” Hikari being the older sister stepped forward gesturing to kill her, Syrah knew to not question it as they had talked about it before. “Now, I am going to kill you but to inflict the ultimate torture to remember for the rest of your time on Eorzea, I will place both of your soul anther in her body.” And with no hesitation, it happens instantly, he stabs Hikari with the sword that impaled him moments ago and in a bright white flash, Syra’s body is tossed back to the Lunar. Crew members lift her up and ask “Captain Hikari, are you ok?” realizing that moment what he did was turn her into a deception. To her she looks like herself with Hikari’s eye color, but to everyone else she looks like Hikari. A short time passes, and she no longer goes by the name Hikari Thorne, instead she changes it to Hikari LeBlanc, since she is a deception to others.
Due to a recent contract that went sour, well it was a set-up. Hikari lost some memory, her last name and some good friends she had are forgotten to her. Her partner Millianna and assistant, Sabirr, helped her recover what they could but she rarely ever mentioned her last name. She presumed it was "valentine" from the gun she found in her jacket as she was on her way back from the bounty. Valentine was actually the smith of the gun, but she deemed it as her last name since.
Hikari Valentine, one of Admiral Merlwyb Bloefhiswyn's best Lieutenant and ship captain's, she is a revered Limsa citizen. She has become the so to say sheriff of the waters, stopping pirates from harassing other ships, taking down ships that threatened the coastal waters of V'ylbrand. She trains daily both through strict meditation for her monk martial arts, as well as sparring with Millianna Rillianah and the Lunar Novas with her axe and knives. Her training has diversified immensely over time. She has trained with Ishgard's Azure Dragoon and matched him in a fight, obtaining the right to be refereed to being his equal as one of the Azure dragons. But As of late she has chosen to continue her meditation from her training with monks, yet her first weapon of choice is the bow or gun. Being a tactical fighter, this allows her to use her skill of surveying the field of combat to her advantage. Her close combat weapon depending on the situation will either be a pair of daggers, or her lance. Her skills with both are honed to the point of only fabled skill, but far from perfection.
Upon occasions she will take up bounty hunting or even hit contract jobs, though she is weary of the contract jobs as her last was a set up causing her to receive amnesia, forgetting her last name and many of her friends. She holds a strong fascination to the Lost City of Amdapor, feeling as if its involved with her past.
After around 1 year and a half, her lover and lieutenant Rei Miyamoto made an unexpected return. Not skipping a bit, their feelings taking over and resuming right where they left off. Within a few days of being back together, right before Rei went to train for a competition, Hikari proposed in the Goblet ward where their company house is, and Rei said yes. They are currently engage and getting married in the next week.
Appearance
Hikari is of slightly tall height for a highlander, around 5'10. She has Black hair with red highlights that is shaved on the sides but long from the top to about chest length. She has tanned skin from her time on the ship and the beach as well. She maintains her toned yet feminine physique through rigorous training when on shore leave and of course her usual activity aboard the ship. She has a dragon tattoo on her left cheek near her ear, and a tribal marking hiding something beneath her eye. Her eyes are a jade green, with smaller than usual pupils.
Combat
Skills - Tactical, able to survey an ares swiftly and use anything she can to her advantage. Weapons - Bow will be her primary choice, able to shoot up to 3 arrows at once to hit the same target for disabling, but one shot when predicted right will kill. 5 years of practice
Knives - Trained by the Shinobi of Doma, her swiftness and skill in confusion allows her to asses and strike weak points of her foes with ease. 2 years of practice
Hand to Hand - Skilled Monk, her original combat training. Knowledge of pressure points and fist techniques is phenomenal. 6 years of practice
Axe - Limits her heavily, dislikes wearing the armor and unwieldy weapon, but does enjoy the thrill of being at the front lines from time to time. 2 years total practice
Personality
Hikari is very blunt, she can seem a bit unfiltered at times but she is well mannered. One thing about her is, she is extremely flirtatious and will blatantly hit on people. But other than that, she enjoys the beach, very big on drinking ale, knows all of the hot spots and how to enjoy them. She does meditate and read on her off time. Hikari will disappear for a short stint of time every now and then to go back tot he monastery where she trained to get back to her inner piece and test her strength with her teachers and the monks of the mountain.

Dislikes
- Most Elezen. Not in a bigotry manner, but her past experiences haven't been the best with them as far as conducting business.
- People who withhold payment at the end of a contract. If you plan on trying to withhold pay from Hikari or anyone she is allied with, expect a knife at your throat.
- Ignorance.
- Wasted time. She likes to finish things perfectly and with haste.
Hobbies/Talents
- Sparring. She is a born fighter, trained by monks, fought with the best of the marauders guild. With combat, you give her the weapon, she'll pick it up and master it with little to no time.
- Fishing. She enjoys fishing, not much to it, just a pastime she enjoys.

Mkaela Sovari - Her fellow captain on the Lunar. They are close and mesh well together both during business or personal time. Its not uncommon to catch them together a lot if the ship is on shore leave.
Synn Heolstor(No Longer Associated) - Her ships second in command. She depends on Synn's judgement from time to time. Though they have a rather awkward friendship at times, they work well together, which is why she trusts him with the rank.
Rin Feathermoon(Location Unknown) - Serah Feathermoon's bond mate, Her and Hikari have worked and hunted together quite a bit. Hikari admires Rin's combat versatility as well as her stunning looks, it may have something to do with the orange hair.
Sonia Nevermind(Location Unknown) - Very similar to Rin. Though Hikari and Sonia had an off an on fling, but due to conflicts of schedule and work it was hard to maintain.
Friends
Asheloux Thanlantos(No Longer Associated) - Friend is such a strong word for these two. They work together but don't necessarily enjoy it. Its beneficial to them to be allied so they work around thier considerable differences.
Sami Rykara(No Longer Associated - One of the high commands in Dragon Army. Her and Hikari aren't seen together often due to the more private nature of their friendship.
Pojosama Saito - Former Leader of Dragon Army, and good friend of Hikari. Their alliance of company's is beneficial to both of them. Pojo is a very generous individual
Enemies
Raltz Waltz - A prime example of withholding pay. She had her ship contracted to Raltz, for a short time, and regrets every moment of it. If you think Ashe and Hikari bicker in public, there was blatant disregard from rank by both of them. He never respected her status in the maelstrom, as she rarely showed any reciprocal respect due to his actions. She invested with him and he attempted to withhold the investments upon breach of contact on his end.
Rumors
- It is rumored that Hikari and Mkaela are a thing, but if you were to ask them, they would say it's just a flirtationship, but you would catch Hikari blow or give Mkaela a kiss on the cheek.
- "Hikari, last I heard she killed a man. Not sure if it was contracted or he just looked at her wrong.
- "Her? I've seen her at the taverns. Always leaving with someone different."
- Rumor has it that Hikari's personal chambers follow a "what happens in the Captain's chambers, stays in the Captain's chambers" rule.
