Appearance & Personality
- Hito is a dark skinned miqo'te with a warm tone indicating his affiliation with the desert of Thanalan. His hair are normally cream in color but he enjoys to dye them black at times as he thinks it looks good with his dark skin. His eyes are yellow mixed with a hint of orange making them quite peculiar. His frame is rather small compared to other miqo'tes and his build, despite training to maintain a fair strength seems to remain very thin with sightly more developed muscles. Luckily for him, the many layers of armor he wears on duty makes him look a bit more muscular. As for his apparent age, one might believe Hito to have a girly face and looks extremely young for his current age, probably due to his low exposure to sunlight over the years and being born from a family with a high female count.
- In term of personality, Hito is foremostly a very kind and smiling person. He was known though to be a very angsty young man when he first arrived to Gridania but years of dedication to his duty as a soldier has made him regain some colors and now seem to be more at ease when socializing. Alongside his kindness, patience and willingness to help others, the young miqo'te has a strong sense of duty and will attempt to complete what he his told without question unless the task is morally wrong. He isn't afraid of revealing his true feelings and can be straightforward at times, whether he knows the person or not.
- Alongside these, Hito is extremely naive and will often not get a joke, a reference or detect the true intention of someone outright. Some say he is a bit spacey for reasons unknown. The soldier is also a daydreamer and is gifted with a interesting sense of creativity which often makes him think on very unconventional planes at times but can also induce at times a hint of paranoia. If left alone, he has the tendency to imagine the worst possible scenarios which often makes him act without thinking or carelessly.

Background
Early Years
- Hito was born and raised in the south of the Sagolii Desert, near the Sea of Ash. He was the only boy of a keeper of the moon family of 7 girls and a single mother. Considering the minority of his gender in his family, he was raised just like his sisters and dressed like them which caused him to adopt be rather feminine mannerism and be comfortable with it, something still apparent to this day. His appearance did not help either as there was no way to tell if he was a boy when he was young thus making most people in the clan to treat him like a girl as well. Despite all that though, Hito lived a very peaceful and happy childhood.
- At around the age of 10 years old, Hito underwent a training alongside his sisters in order to follow the family traditions. His family was known to raise and train elite assassins who would be employed by Ul'Dah and Thavnairian nobles. For Hito and his sisters, it was already arranged at a very young age that they would serve a Thavnair at the age of 15. His fate sealed, the boy never had a choice and as soon as he was ready, he was sent to the far away island to begin his life as a servant of shadows.
In the servitude of Thavnair
- During his years in Thavnair, Hito lived well. He was well dressed, had a shelter and he had a plenitude of food to eat. While under the servitude of the lord, he rarely revealed his face and accomplished numerous missions in order the preserve his master's interests including patrolling, assassination and escort. Essentially, he was akin to a highly ranked castle guard. He was part of what many people called The Dark 8, a group of 8 female assassins who would stalk the night and eliminate any foes in silence. Needless to say they were often compared to the ninjas of Dohma.
- Despite his incredible skills with the dark blades and his unmatched aptitude to complete his tasks with ease, Hito was not happy with his life or at least that is what he thought after 3 years of servitude. Feeling a void within himself, the boy dreamed of travelling and seeing the world in hope of finding a better calling elsewhere. Killing in the name of a man he did not appreciate(for many reasons) was enough to make him crave something better. With the help of another manservant of the castle he trusted, Hito eventually faked his death during a mission and escaped on the first ship he could secretly board on. The trip was extremely long and sadly, the manservant's weak fortitude lead to his passing due to a ferocious disease. A loss still painful and sorrowful for Hito to this day.
His new life in Gridania
- The ship the young miqo'te had boarded lead him to Gridania through Velodyna River. After giving his friend a proper burial, Hito was left on his own in an unknown world. Changing his name to Hito Shura, the young keeper began his new life. His first and second year were difficult for him as he was forced to join illegal hunting groups to make a decent living. It was not till he encountered the soldiers of the Twin Adder in battle that he realized he was not doing the right thing with his life. Upon seeing their valor in combat, Hito was impressed and thus sent him on a entirely different path. Weeks later, he enrolled in the army as soon as he could and he was assigned the night watch ever since due to his affiliation with the night life. During his service, he learned to make friends with his fellow soldiers and opened himself a bit more as he was used to remain silent and serious during his time as an assassin and poacher.
- Over the course of the following years, Hito was known to accomplish deeds accross the Twelvewoods alongside a single surprisingly heroic feat within the Ehcalt tribe when he saved one of their member from 2 powerful Dullahans deep within the ruins of Proud Creek. For his actions, he was rewarded a feather prized by the Ixali he saved and with it, he was able to get forged a magnificent sword imbued with the power of the wind, an artefact noticed by many within Gridania. Needless to say, his standing with the peaceful Ixali tribe is good despite what the Twin Adders officers say.
- Alongside many other events, the young miqo'te escorted many Gridanian officials to Ul'Dah and Limsa Lominsa ergo seeing more of the world like he wanted.
Presently
- Today, Hito is still a core member of the Gridanian Night Watch and proudly execute his orders while travelling the Black Shroud freely.
