Apperance & Personality
♦Appearance
While beauty is in the eye of the beholder, J’nali often times isn’t much to write home about. Prettying up is a nuanced luxury to the Seeker who often times is a body covered in soot or ash or grease or dirt with rumpled clothes and frizzy hair. Though she stands a few inches taller than many women of her species she has a persistent slouch when relaxed and a tendency to try and look taller when not. Notably she’s of a thicker build—perhaps even chubby to some—than many a Seeker with a few pounds purposefully stacked onto an hourglass frame.
Though she tries to hide behind frizzy hair and curled bangs J’nali has a comely face with wide eyes and bushy brows. Dangling from a button-like nose is a brass ring, the most noticeable of her collection (others located in the ears, the navel, and her tongue).
♦Personality
With limbs like compressed coils ready to spring and a head like a steel trap, high strung and ready to strike good way to describe J’nali upon immediate sight. While it’s hard to discern if she’s threatening she’s always a step too far back and an ear twitched away. In recent times she's taken on a gruffer manner to ward off those who might do her ill. Her bite may very well be as bad as her bark.
J’nali has a sense of humor as dry as the Sagolii for those quick enough to catch it. With a mouth full of morbidity and subtle existentialism topped off with political ravings, J’nali isn’t necessarily easy to be in the company of to many. To those who do? Well, they’ll find a sharp eye, a keen ear, and experience born smarts.
Biography
J’nali Noe was born the middle most daughter of identical quintuplets. “Expendable but not disposable” is a good way to describe most of J’nali’s life as a result. While this might seem sad to some it’s come as a relief to J’nali. While her early life was mostly unremarkable it wasn’t unhappy. The only “traumatic” event of note in J’nali’s childhood would be when she shot a Garlean soldier dead during a skirmish with a small group and her tribe. It wasn’t as tragic for her as it might have been for some. In fact, it sparked off her interest in technology.
For the rest of her life since then J’nali spent most of her time scouring the desert for whatever hunks of metal she could get her hands on. Scrounging and imploring wayward adventurers could only get one so far, however, and eventually J’nali thought it better to leave for the city. Surely she could make a pocket full of gil there.
The story J'nali tells people and what actually happened are a bit. . . Different. It's a hodge podge of believability tangled into a timeline that doesn't quite make sense. What she says is that she was honing her skills with the goldsmiths before catching the eye of a wealthy Ul’dahn merchant. With money and influence on his side J’nali hadn’t the nerve to leave when he dare hit her twice. . . though due to money and influence there’s little mention of how bad it got.
Finally she did leave—after a number of tumultuous months—when in a rather calculated bout of spite the man sold all of her inventions and weaponry off. Told she’d surely die with not a gil to her name J’nali fancied it a better fate than what she had in current. Reduced to nothing the young woman left Ul’dah to build herself anew, quiet ire slowly cultivating under the hot Thanalan sun.
Strangely, though, no one can seem to remember her milling about with merchants in recent times. Perhaps one can attribute it to her being a wallflower.

- ■ “Now I’m gonna tell ye this once, yeah? You stay away from that lass. Wh—Dangerous? Gods no! That cat be skittish as cat can be an’ she’s one ‘a the best workers we’ve had over here in a while. So don’t go scarin’ her away.”
- ■ “Her? Comes into the city every day. Well, almost. After her workdays she stops in the Quicksand, orders a room, cleans up, orders a drink, and then vanishes to uh. . . What, the Silver Bazaar? Think she lives there, yeah.”
- ■ "I just know she's faking that gods be damned stutter. You don't just conveniently lose one after a two mugs of ale."
- ■ "I was surprised as anyone when it happened. Don’t get me wrong it was a pleasant surprise but still. . . She’s so shy! If one night is what you’re looking for just make that clear, she gets testy when she feels like her time is being wasted. Just uh. . . Remember to pay her after. She hits harder than you’d think."
- ■ “Now you know I would never ever doubt someone who claims hand has been raised to them. You know that! And I mean. . . She does seem like the type that’s had that happen. But, don’t you think it curious that we’ve never seen her at any soirees or get togethers? How could she have possibly been a kept woman if none of the other woman so much as saw her in passing?”
- ■ "When the old man died she walked through the desert with that gun held tight in her hand. Before we knew what was happening Faraahd had a bullet in his brain. I swear when she touched me she sent a storm through my veins. Now I ain’t got the arm and I ain’t got Faraahd, all I got is the scar."

- Loud, tall, and magnetic the Duskwight proves to be a good distraction in J’nali’s times of need. While she initially didn’t expect it from Nigel—she assumed he was patronizing her—he’s very mindful of how she reacts and seems to show genuine interest towards what she has to say. As a result she’s found a good friend. A partner. Someone she can swap ideas with. Having grown up without any strong romantic perspective or idea of courtship culture the recent changes in their friendship don’t come as an issue to J’nali who is content to let things stay as they are.
