GENERAL INFORMATION

Jazmmine Ishikawa (born Katsumi Yamamoto) is an Au Ra of the Raen clan who escaped from her home on Doma shortly before the Garlean Empire took possession. She and her family fled to Eorzea in hopes of beginning a new life. However an unfortunate encounter would leave her dying and alone. To this day, Jazmmine has not regained her memories though she does have visions of them from time to time.

APPEARANCE

Jazmmine is quite small in stature though her always perfect posture tends to make her seem taller. Her long hair cascades down past her delicate shoulders, stopping just above her waist. She has bright blue almond shaped eyes that sparkle when the light touches them and a smile that could stop any man dead in his tracks. Her skin is like perfect porcelain, pale and smooth with shimmering gold scales that softly flicker in the sun. She carries herself quite well and it is not uncommon for her to be noticed the second she enters a room. Though she appears to be delicate and fragile, make no mistake Jazmmine is quite fierce. She has grown accustomed to caring for herself and relies on no one.

PERSONALITY

Jazmmine is quiet when she first meets new people. Some have even gone as far as calling her arrogant and conceited as she is very sure of herself. She is slow to trust but is quite amiable once she gets to know you. She is very loyal and cares deeply for those who have been privileged to earn her friendship. She will do anything for her loved ones but at the same time, cross her and Twelve have mercy on you. Jazmmine is extremely passionate and gives her all in everything she does. Those unfamiliar with her might say she is spoiled and always gets what she wants. Little do they know the effort she applies when focused on something she desires. Those who do know her would advise to stay out of her way when she sets her mind to something.

When it comes to romantic interests, Jazmmine is very drawn to men in power. Having to start over with nothing has given her a great deal of strength and she gravitates to those who are like her. She has no time for weak individuals who are afraid of their own shadow, always apologizing for themselves out of awkwardness or men who wander around aimlessly from place to place with no ambitions, goals or loyalties. She does not give in easy and any man who fancies her better be ready to work for her affection. Though she remembers nothing of her previous life, she is extremely confident in the new one she's built for herself and will settle for nothing less than what she feels she deserves. This sort of confidence tends to make it difficult to find a worthy lover, but she is quite content with where she is. She has a few prospects but she is not in a hurry to rush into anything.

HISTORY

Katsumi and her family successfully escape the Garlean grasp and made it safely to Eorzea. However upon landing, they encountered a group of rather hostile Xaelan. Ill prepared to defend themselves they fled and became separated. Katsumi found herself scared and running for her life. She would wake up several weeks later in Ul'dah with no memory as to how she got there or who she was. She obtained work with a local resident and would soon discover she had a knack for weaving. She remained in Ul'dah for a short time, regaining her strength and planning her next move. During her time in the city, she developed a reputation and even an alias (since she didn’t know her real name). She found herself quite fond of the scent of Jasmine and was scarcely seen without it somewhere on her person. She often smelled of it as well thus she became known as Jazmmine. The doman family who took her in grew fond of her and treated her as family. As such, she adopted their surname "Ishikawa."

After several months of working and saving, Katsumi (now Jazmmine) decided it was time to venture out in search of who she was. While wandering through the forest of the South Shroud, she came across a fellow Raen named Suna Yari, a member of The Platinum Vanguard. The two bonded rather quickly and Suna brought her back to meet the rest of her company. After a few short weeks it became quite apparent to Jazmmine that this was home. She took her oath and became a member. While she still desires to remember her past and whether or not her family still lives, Jazmmine had become quite content within the walls of the company. She continued to learn the ways of weaving as well as leather working and botany. She has also since discovered that the flow of Aether runs strong within her and though she can’t remember how she learned, she is quite the skilled healer. Jazmmine grew exponentially while within the walls of the Platinum Vanguard however, after a duration she felt something within her growing. A burning passion to not just heal people, but to engulf herself in all aspects of aether magics. She said good bye to her friends at the Platinum Vanguard and embarked on an adventure to find a suitable mentor who would not just teach but stoke the flames of her passion.

Jazmmine found herself searching for a place to stay when she stumbled on an inn called Silver Star Harbor, a lovely establishment located in Mists. She originally only planned to stay a night or two while searching for Abyss but found herself enjoying the environment and staff. So, she decided to make it a more long term temporary solution. After several months there, she was able to obtain an apartment near by the inn as a more permanent residence. Jazmmine can often be found on the beaches near her new home, or lounging at the inn enjoying the amazing view.

Jazmmine has only a few clues to her past. The ring finger on her left hand shows signs of a band that appeared to have been there for quite some time. The whereabouts of this band is currently unknown to her. She also possess a locket that she keeps around her neck and tucked away. The contents have long been destroyed but the outside bears the inscription “We are eternal.” Jazmmine also has dreams, sometimes of the past and sometimes of things to come.

Katsumi's family fled from Othard shortly before the Garlean Empire took control. All made it to Eorzea from Doma but became lost in the incident that left Katsumi for dead

R'anael Lea

R'anael is one of the first people Jazmmine befriended after waking up in Ul'dah which is very strange as they are exact opposites. Still, the Miqo'te won her over and Jazmmine cares for her as an older sister would. R'anael refers to Jazmmine as "Flower Lady" which she does not seem to mind. She accepts R'anael for her quirky self and embraces it. Jazmmine has not seen R'anael for some time now. She worries about her a great deal but understands that R'anael must find her own path in life.

Piaras Wolfwood

As the leader of The Platinum Vanguard, Piaras was there to greet and welcome Jazmmine when Suna brought her to the Company. He was very warm and inviting and made Jazmmine feel at ease almost instantly. Not too long after she joined, Jazmmine decided this was home and she took her Oath before Piaras.

Aliandrah Ayers

Jazmmine and Ali were introduced to each other through Piaras. At first, Jazmmine found her to be abrasive and slightly neurotic, but the Hyur woman has grown on her. Though they've only had a few interactions together, Jazmmine finds Ali to be a very loyal and trustworthy person. Her quirky ways often provide Jazmmine with a good laugh and she enjoys her company a great deal.

Jazmmine has not seen Ali in quite a while and though she is known to disappear for long periods of time and is quite capable of handling herself, she does worry about her. She hopes that Ali returns soon and looks forward to hear all her stories of her adventures.

Olieane Ahvero

Jazmmine first met this spunky Miqo'te after being brutally attacked and left to die somewhere out in the Sagolii desert. In her injured state, Jazmmine first found Olieane to be quite annoying. Always talking, seamlessly from one topic to the next never even appearing to take a breath. Perhaps it was the way the Miqo'te girl reminded her a great deal of someone she once cared for that softened her as Jazmmine found herself growing fond of Olieane during their journey back to the Company estate. Upon arriving, Olie helped Jazmmine to her private chambers where Piaras was immediately summoned. He was grateful for Olie's kindness and offered her a place within the Platinum Vanguard. Jazmmine is fortunate that Olie was where she was when she needed her the most and looks forward to getting to know her better.

Tasari Ah'jitanni

Jazmmine first met Tasari in New Gridania at the Lancer's Guild. It was all by chance really as she normally doesn't linger long when running errands. This particular day she decided to take a bit of a look around. She found her way into the Lancer's Guild but quickly realized she had no business there. As she hurried out, she saw a young Miqo'te curled up along the wall, attempting to rest. He had a small satchel nearby and a spear that had seen better days lay at his side. It is still unknown why she was drawn to him but she was and as such, approached cautiously. They began to talk and Jazmmine discovered that he had no home and had been staying in the Lancer's Guild since he had arrived in the city. He had been looking for work to no avail and was in need of a home. After a several minutes of conversation, he agreed to come back to the company home and meet everyone. There was always tasks needing to be completed and he seemed like a hard worker. Jazmmine had no doubt he would fit in just fine and would earn his keep. She has found him to be sweet and innocent in many ways and has become protective over him. There is something about Tasari that she cannot pinpoint just yet but she knows he is special.

Leben Ojanen

Jazmmine met Leben during one of her many recruitment missions. The rather tall Au Ra had been looking for company to utilize his many talents and take up residence. They shared a brief conversation before returning to the estate to meet with Piaras. After they met and the tour of the estate had concluded, it was decided that Leben stay to see if he could be happy with The Platinum Vanguard. She found herself enjoying his company a great deal and doesn't even mind that he refers to her as "Little Dragon." Leben is responsible for introducing Jazmmine to another way to use her healing magics. Through his guidance, she has became a highly skilled Astrologian. The two spent a great deal of time with each other and their time had begun to extended beyond teaching. They often spent hours together talking, laughing and enjoying each other's presence. To say Jazmmine was fond of Leben would be an understatement. When not in his presence, her thoughts would often drift to him and the good byes at the end of the evening grew harder. Leben was an adventurer at heart and his wanderlust often took him places for long periods of time. His most recent excursion was only suppose to be a short one but in the end, it took him from Jazmmine permanently.

Towering Abyss

Jazmmine first met Towering Abyss after several days of inquiring and searching for a suitable mentor. It seemed the Roe had quite the reputation of having extraordinary skill in manipulating aether as well as teaching. Jazmmine was slightly intimidated by the rather tall woman but she never let on. She kept her cool during a small series of tests and as such, Abyss agreed to take her on as an apprentice. Their first interactions together were different, not like any other Jazmmine had encountered but she feels confident in both her ability to learn and Abyss' ability to teach.

Leaya Lessari

Leaya was one of the first contacts Jazmmine had when she came upon Silver Star Harbor. She is very quite and rarely speaks but something about this Miqo'te put Jazmmine at ease. Leaya is the polar opposite of Olieane but Jazmmine has grown extremely fond of her never the less. Of late, it is seldom the two are found apart and though she is reluctant to get too attached, Jazmmine has found a great deal of happiness in their friendship.

Nash'ir Ahvani

Nash'i and Jazmmine met one afternoon at the beach near her apartment. Normally Jazmmine prefers to keep to herself while relaxing but this charismatic Keeper of the Moon was not taking no for an answer that day. In the end, he won Jazmmine over and the two spent well into the evening together. He called on her again the next day and the day after that until it was a rarity to find the one without the other. Nash'i saw past the ice cold exterior that Jazmmine so deserately tried to maintain. He was very persistent, extremely confident and in the end, he was successful in winning her heart. Jazmmine found herself happier than she could remember with Nash'i and when he asked her to be his forever, she was surprised at how easy the word "yes" spilled from her lips. The two recently exchanged their vows and pledged their eternal love to one another. Both eager to embark on this new journey together.
