History
Jinh'a's love of the ocean is a product of his upbringing. His mother, Jinh Ganaji, and father, Lath'zi Notae, were free mariners of the open waters. With no nation to call their own, Jinh'a's parents lived and died by their own code. Some would call them pirates. Others might point to their occasional service and name them privateers. Whatever the case, they traded, stole, and killed their way through much of Eorzea. Jinh'a's hands are not entirely clean, either.
Jinh'a found himself alone and an adult by age 10. His father was killed fighting pirates (which were thought to berth from Limsa Lominsa). His mother sought revenge on these pirates, but she was tragically lost at sea during her pursuit. His juvenile bravado forced him to take up his mother's cause. A chance meeting with a female Miqo'te - named Linna - convinced him that there were more... covert ways to get his own revenge. A similar meeting with another female Miqo'te - named Kepke - made him doubt his unsavory lifestyle. It was revealed later that Linna and Kepke were sisters. The yin and yang of these sisters helped create a sense of belonging to Jinh'a, and he decided to stick around Limnsa Lominsa. Thus, his new life began amongst the same people whom he believed killed his family.
((Although Jinh'a considers himself a Rogue, he can often be seen in-game as other jobs and/or classes. This is more or less a cover as he's on a "special assignment" from his superiors in the Rogue's Guild.))

Personality
Despite his past, Jinh'a tends to be a very honest and open person. This oftentimes clashes with this chosen profession. He struggles to maintain the duality between his desire for revenge and his hope for a more peaceful future. ((Note - this is where Linna and Kepke's influence over his emotions come into play. There is a constant struggle over who he is and who he wants to be.))
