P E R S O N A L I T Y

Soft Spoken, shy and naive to a fault. Jino'ya is possessed of a low opinion of himself and often tries to prove himself by helping others out which often ends with disastrous results due to his clumsy nature. As a result he can be best described as awkward and extremely nervy. He is often prone to daydreaming which makes him come across as a bit of an airhead at times, While deep in thought he has a habit of messing with the parting of his fringe.

He is prone to stammering when talking, which can improve or worsen depending on who he is talking to or how he is feeling. When under a great deal of stress he has been known to speak in an almost rapid-fire manner which makes it very difficult for people to understand him. Due to his extreme shyness he will never actually look someone directly, unless he feels completely at ease with them, and instead will settle for looking at the space behind them.

Jino'ya has a great fondness for stories (and apples, but the word fondness can be swapped with something more appropriate... like "addiction") of all kinds, finding himself completely enraptured by the stories told by authors and playwrights as well as those told by adventurers and can often be found trawling through collections offered by book paddlers or listening to the grand tales told by adventurers passing through the city of Limsa Lominsa. He often dreams of becoming an adventurer himself so that he one day might be able to share stories like the ones that so enamoured him for so many years.

Helping people. He will often go out of his way to help people whenever and wherever he can for no real personal gain other to be useful.

D I S L I K E S

Fighting. Being of a peaceful nature, Jino'ya abhors violence of any kind regardless of the reason and does his best to stay away from combat.
Bright Lights. As a Keeper of the Moon, Jino'ya is more suited to being in low light environments and the harsh light of the sun and any other sources of bright light cause him a great deal of discomfort.

S T R E N G T H

Healing.Jino'ya is a skilled healer, able to employ very powerful healing spells as well as protective wards.
Kindness. The little Keeper is a great believer in showing kindness to others, and will often time go out of his way to help both strangers and friends alike. He is incapable of showing any form of cruelty or selfishness.
Singing. Alongside his collection of stories and plays,Jino also has a small collection of opera scripts and sheet music that he enjoys singing when he thinks no one is listening, unfortunately for him he seems to sing the parts typically sung by women very well.

F E A R S

The Shroud. Jino'ya has an intense fear of the shroud and will often times be hesitant or outright refuse to enter it, being afraid of the inhabitants of Gridania as well as his eldest brother Jino'a Traore.
Burial sites. Jino'ya finds himself unsettled by burial sites, believing that these resting places should be respected and avoided by the living for fear of drawing the ire of the dead.
Being alone. Ultimately the keeper is afraid of being alone. Lost in a world that he both fears and does not understand, with no one by his side to help anchor him.

Q U I R K S

Stuttering. One of his more noticeable quirks, Jino'ya possesses an ever present stutter when he speaks and very rarely is he able to complete a sentence without doing so. The stutter will worsen depending on how he is feeling.
Social Anxiety. The little Keeper appears to be in a constant state of nervousness borne of a fear that people are him will try to hurt him. often times shuffling from one foot to the other, or rubbing his shoulder. This can be exacerbated should he find himself in a large crowd where there are too many people to keep an eye on.

A P P E A R A N C E

Jino'ya is a short Miqo'te of lean build standing at 5 fulms and 2 ilms, weighing at 121 ponze. Pale skinned with delicate, lightly freckled features that border on almost feminine, his dark hair, while normally at shoulder length is often tied up at the back into a ponytail which rests on the nape of his neck and a long fringe parted to the side of his face. The only scar to be found on his body is a horizontal cut across his chest, he also possesses a small number of piercings, with two silvery rings adorn his right ear, and more recently a miniature Qiqirin shaped ear ring as well as a labret stud beneath his lower lip.

He prefers to dress in simplistic clothing for the most part and would feel uncomfortable wearing something fancy or extravagant. His day to day clothes are often worn and tattered as he has little to no coin to pay for new clothes and has to make do patching up his old ones.

C O M B A T & W E A P O N R Y

A pacifist by nature, Jino'ya possesses next to no combat abilities and has very little way in the experience of battle other than running away and hoping that who or whatever it is that is chasing him will loose interest eventually. He does however appear to have a natural gift for healing and protective magic, possibly borne from his desire to help people rather than harm them, as a result he is more of a danger to himself than anyone else when utilising offensive magic and many times those kinds of spells will backfire on him. .

A S T R O M A N C Y

Over the past few moons, Jino'ya has been receiving tutelage in the arts of Sharlayan Astromancy. Having unlocked the six heavenly gates within he able able to call down a range of healing and protective spells, as well as bind his aether to the Arcana traditionally used by Sharlayan fortune tellers so that he might further assist his allies with the beneficial effects gained from the cards representative constellation.

Born a Pariah
Born on the Fifth Sun of the Fifth Umbral moon, to Jino Traore a Conjurer in the Order of the Twin Adder and Ghoji'to Kadri a hunter from the Northern Shroud, Jino'ya spent his early years living in the furthest reaches of the Black Shroud with his family as far from Gridania as possible. Where they were regarded with suspicion by other Keeper families, who were of the belief that they had been cursed by Menphina, due to the unusual numbers of sons Jino had given birth to and any daughters were still born.
Jino'ya was a quiet and unassuming boy who mostly kept to his self. He was often doted upon by his Mother, much to the chagrin of of his brothers, who would torment him by throwing his books into a stream, pushing him around and saying he looked like a girl.
At the age of five his eldest brother Jino'a had taken a stuffed toy moogle, given to him by their mother on his third nameday, and hid it in a cave. Despite the young keepers pleas for his elder brother to give him back his prized possession, he was forced to venture into the cave along to reclaim it on his own. Unfortunately the cave was not empty as his brothers had believed and was home to a pack of Yarzon that became intent on making the terrified children their next meal. The brothers were rescued by a passing adventurer and were met with a great deal of scorn from their parents once they had returned home, further deepening Jino'a's hatred for his youngest brother.
A Blue Bird Caged/Clipped Wings
.... Shortly after his sixth Name day, Jino'yas mother came to him one night telling him that she had been called away on an important assignment for the Order of the Twin Adder and had no idea when she would return. The keeper then gifted him a steel choker with a large sapphire set in the centre, saying that it was her promise to him that one day she would return to her children.
As the days turned to years since Jino had left, Ghoji'to became more and more withdrawn, often leaving their home for entire days as he visited neighbouring Keeper families, leaving the upbringing of his children to his eldest Son Jino'a, who held their mother to a high standard and believed that it was the duty of her children to meet that standard. He was especially hard on Jino'ya, often times making horrible remarks about his little brother and instilling him with the belief that he was worthless and that he deserved the punishments that had been metered out to him
The punishments became especially severe over time, with his older brother striking him with a cane or blunted club, breaking the little keepers fingers, knees and back and then casting healing spells so that he would show no physical evidence of the beatings and leaving him locked away in a cage to think upon his failings.

Fall of Dalamund/Fires of the Calamity.
On the day that Dalamund fell and the ancient primal Bahamut was released from it's bindings, Twelveswood burned and with it Jino'ya's home in the Northern Shroud. In the midst of what would become known as the calamity, His father Ghoji'to tried to rescue the young keeper from the burning cottage, only to be burned alive in the process along side two of his sons. The remaining Brothers, Jino'a and Jinosae blamed Jino'ya for the death of their father and brothers and began to savagely beat him, all the while claiming that all of the families misfortunes was his fault and that it was his fault that their mother had vanished. Bloodied and broken, all the young Keeper could do was beg forgiveness of his older brothers saying that he was sorry over and over. Eventually they relented. Having healed his wounds, the two left in search of a new location to call home within the Northern Shroud. Scared and with nowhere to go, Jino'ya followed his brothers.
Leaving the Nest
Some five Cycles after the Calamity there had been no real change in his circumstances, while a new home was built for the brothers to live in, Jino'ya still found himself being locked away in a cage with naught but a few books for entertainment. In the meantime Jino'a advanced within the ranks of the Order of the Twin Adder, eventually surpassing his own mother, becoming Sergeant First Class. In celebration of this occasion Jino'a planned to host a ceremony in honour of their missing mother. Wanting to help with the preparations, Jino'ya tried to make himself useful, however his efforts were in vain due to his inherent clumsy nature which lead to the release of a rather grumpy blue Chocobo which began to wreak havoc amongst their home. Before the bird could be contained, his eldest Brother arrived with those invited to the ceremony and bore witness to the destruction that had been wrought by the feathered fiend.
Having been humiliated in front of his peers, his eldest brother sought to murder the young Keeper once they had departed, slowly strangling him to death as he begged forgiveness. As the lights began to fade in the Keepers eyes he was eventually saved by his brother, Jino'sae who tried to calm the wrath of their elder brother. It was then that Jino'a exiled the Keeper from their home, telling him to never return to the Shroud, or he would end him.
Scared and alone, Jino'ya bought passage to Limsa Lominsa with little coin he had, hoping that he could make a new life for himself.

Jino Traore ( - NPC / Unplayed ) - The Mother.
A conjurer within the Order of the Twin Adder making her an oddity amongst other Keepers. Kind and caring, she would often dote upon her youngest son, much to the chagrin of his brothers. She disappeared without a trace some twelve cycles ago after going on an important mission for the order. It is said that he bares a striking resemblance to his mother, the only defining traits being the markings beneath his eyes and on her cheeks.
Jino'a Traore ( - NPC / Unplayed ) - The Eldest Brother.
First born of Jino, eldest brother to Jino'ya. He has nothing but disdain for his youngest brother. When they younger he would often play cruel pranks on the little keeper. After the disappearance of their mother and the absence of their father the acts of cruelty became more dire as he locked Jino'ya away in a cage in their cellar and beat him regularly for his "failings".
Ebony Spring ( ) - The Gentle Giant
A rather tall and demure Roegadyn whom Jino'ya met during her interview with Jackal and Hide. Since his meeting with her he appears to have gotten on extremely well with her and has found himself being captivated by her gentle nature and her expressed desire to help people. It did not take him long to develop a romantic interest in her as a result and he was somewhat surprised to find that interest being returned by her. The two have began dating since and Jino'ya looks forward to what the future holds for them.
Xivrez'to Ithaka ( ) - The Adoptive Brother
One of his first friends. Jino'ya looks up to him with a great deal of admiration and trusts him implicitly. Xiv has also served as a mentor to him, often imparting his wisdom onto the little Miqo'te as well as teaching him how to defend himself from would-be attackers (even if it is just pushing them away) and how to swim. Jino'ya thinks of him as a family and has even asked him if he could be his brother.
Thya Kahzuun ( ) - The Quiet Warrior
A Keeper whom he first met during a beach Party held by Xiv. Initially being intimidated by the silent stares she often employs as well as her prowess in combat, he has found himself developing feelings for her. Despite learning of her past, is feelings had not changed, though since confessing his love for her the two have remained as friends.
Miir Raj'ar ( ) - The Hero from Pearl Lane
A rather blunt Seeker of the Sun, whom Jino'ya looks up to. Like Xiv she is a Monk who lived in Ul'dah. He admires her conviction to do the right thing as well as her honesty. She is probably the only person in the company to make him blush constantly through her constant teasing of the poor Keeper.
Cassandra Lachance ( ) - The Wise One.
A Midlander working for the company. Jino'ya refers to her as Miss Cassandra out of respect, counting her as one of his closest friends and looking up to her as if she were an older sister. He values her advice greatly however he constantly worries about her after she told him one of the things that stresses her out the most.
J'inarah Marad ( ) - The Employer with the knives.
Jino'yas current employer alongside J'killid Tia. He doesn't know her all that well but from his interactions with her she seems nice enough. He tries to stay out of her way for the most part where work is involved, however he remains anxious to prove himself to her as worthy of being a member of Jackal and Hide.
J'kilid Tia ( ) - The Employer with the axe.
Jino'yas current employer alongside J'inarah Marad. As with Inarah, he doesn't know much about Kilid and is of a similar opinion of him. He wants to make himself appear useful to his employer and will follow any orders issued by him unquestioningly as evidenced one night when he was asked to gather bee's.
Bert Brewforge ( ) - The Sell Sword.
Fellow colleague in Jackal and Hide and friend. Jino was of the belief that beneath his gruff exterior is a gentle being.
Romimo Romi ( ) - The Mage.
While he does not know much of the Lalafellen Woman, he has a great deal of respect for her. He has promised to provide her with any information he can find on the Sharlayan art of Astromancy.
Locke Rinannis ( ) - The Engineer.
An engineer that has been employed by the Jackals. Jino does not know much about the Hyur but he finds himself in awe of him when he found out he had been commissioned to construct an Airship for the company.
Z'thara Dhen ( ) - The Pirate.
A rather pleasant Miqo'te Seeker whom Jino does not know much about, he enjoys her company although he always feels bad for not knowing what to say despite her efforts to make conversation with him.
Ludivine Goultard ( ) - The Mysterious One.
Much about the Duskwight remains a mystery to him however she seems pleasant enough to him. He had gifted his toy Moogle to her in the hopes that it would make her feel better after finding her in a state of depression..
Aeron Volkova ( ) - The Flirt.
Jino'ya does not know much about the Hyur, though from their talks he is of the impression that he seems nice enough. He has even been willing to part advice to the little Keeper. However after two instances (most likely a joke at the Keepers expense) he has a slight fear that the Hyur might actually try to kiss him.
Sayuri Gahaku ( ) - The Horned one.
One of the first Au Ra that Jino has met in person. He feels somewhat guilty for not being able to save her leg after she was found washed up on the shores of La Noscea. The guilt further worsened by the poor treatment she received from one of the Limsan chirurgeons he had called upon to perform the amputation.
Platinum Mountain ( ) - The Dragon Hunter.
Dragon Hunter extraordinaire and fellow healer in the company. As he refers to Cassandra as Miss, he refers to the Lalafell as Mr. Platinum out of respect. He always offers Jino words of encouragement and has even offered to help him learn different forms of protective spells such as bindings and sleeping spells. Jino would love nothing more than to hear the stories of his dragon hunting days. He is also of the wrong impression that Platinum used to be a Dragoon.
Zhyalyhe Loeshaksyn ( ) - The Painter.
A rather Peculiar Roegadyn pirate who seems intent on giving him sea cucumbers as a gift whenever he see's him..
Takia Himaa ( ) - The Cheerful.
While not knowing much about this rather Cheerful Auri Jino'ya is of the belief that she seems nice enough, though initially finding himself concerned for her well being when this she first introduced herself to members of the pack as a black Mage, it came to something of a relief that it was merely a misunderstanding.
Rufus Wightman ( ) - The Endarkened.
Finding himself fearful of this Hyur at first after he saw him standing outside the Sunny Seaside Salvage shop flecked with blood and viscera. He has however, found that despite his first impression, the Hyur is not that bad of a person and hopes that the other members of the pack are willing to give him a chance as well, though the powers he can call to hand still unnerve him.
Lorelei Larkin ( ) - The Tailor.
A Miqo'te he met during a house warming party in the Goblet. He has ran into him afterwards and is of a positive impression of the equally nervy Miqo, though he has not seen him since fashion show held a couple of Moons ago and wonders how he is.
Ciciru Cici ( ) - The Talented.
A rather coarse lalafellen woman Jino'ya met during one of the Sunny Seaside Bar events the Pack hosts. She has been nothing but kind to him since their meeting and finds himself in awe of her talents in mimicry. He does feel a great deal of sorrow as well, having learned of her history in Ul'dah and hopes that her future remains bright.
Kheja'a Akhabila ( ) - The Robed One.
One of the company Thaumaturge's. Jino'ya does not know much about the rather quiet keeper, though he is of the opinion that he seems like a nice enough person.
Myra Tyra ( ) - The Uncaring.
Fellow colleague in Jackal and Hide. For one so small she manages to inspire a great deal of fear in him, often chiding him for slacking off whenever he's in one of his daydreams. He still endeavours to be her friend.
Tolui Dhoro ( ) - The Scaled One.
Jino has only ever talked to the Au Ra once, however during a recent mission with the company, Jino has found himself wary of him due to his eagerness alongside Bert Brewforge to cut down wounded and unarmed soldiers.
