Explorer extraordinaire, K'heyo Tia, at your service! Specializing in sight-seeing, slacking off, and getting hopelessly lost. Proud member of the Dread Wyrms (whenever it's convenient for him, that is).

Basic Info

An adventurer at heart, with an unquenchable thirst for exploring the vast realm of Eorzea, K'heyo goes wherever his heart (and his feet) may take him. He is a "Tia" Miqo'te from the South Shroud's Hipparion Tribe, but has defected from the tribe and its traditions in order to pursue his love of traveling.

Twenty-six calendar years of being alive has seen K'heyo with many different jobs and allegiances. K'heyo has been a vagrant, a mercenary (and still is, within his company), a performer of odd-jobs, all amongst many other things. He was born in Gridania and, as such, holds some sort of reverence and soft spot for the city-state; however, his livelihood has led him to a more common presence roaming about Ul'Dah.

His guardian is Oschon, the Wanderer. Oschon is neither his name month deity, nor his tribe's chosen god. Instead, K'heyo's faith in Oschon was his conscious choice when he left his homeland and began exploring. Despite all of this, K'heyo is not very faith-driven but will visit the occasional altar to offer up a prayer if there happens to be one nearby.

IC-ly, K'heyo does possess the Echo, albeit his bond with Hydaelyn is far weaker than most "Warriors of Light." In fact, he may not even be fully awakened to or aware of this power that he possesses. When Hydaelyn used her power to prevent him from being stillborn, the Echo's power was absorbed deep within K'heyo to aid in giving him life (see Early Childhood section of bio). As such, episodes as a result of the Echo happen rarely, if ever, to K'heyo.

Appearance & Personality

APPEARANCE:

Like most members of his tribe, K'heyo is slender and lithe in build. He is irregularly tall for a Miqo'te by most standards. His muscles are visible, but not overbearing. He's built for speed and quick reactions, as is necessary for Miqo'te who choose to make the dark wilderness of the Shroud their home. His fingernails are long and are kept sharpened to a fine point; it's a habit that he never quite grew out of after departing from his tribe. The white tribal tattoos upon his right cheekbone consist of curling, wispy strokes that almost look like feathers. He bears similar tattoos on both arms that begin at the wrist and end just below his elbow. The tattoos are a tradition in his tribe and are added to as Tias age. Additionally, K'heyo bears a scar that crosses over his right eye. He received it as a young child while embarking upon a forbidden excursion alone to the Sanctum of the Twelve. A wild boar ambushed him, but he escaped with nothing more than this wound after a fellow tribe member rescued him. K'heyo tends to wear more revealing clothes or can even be seen meandering around topless. He dislikes anything that inhibits his movement or that he dubs to be 'uncomfortable.' He is almost always wearing his trademark red-and-white feather hairpin.

PERSONALITY:

Upon first encounter K'heyo may seem like a heart-on-his-sleeve kind of guy, but don't let that fool you! There are plenty of personality traits that this flippant feline possesses that make him quite the dynamic conversation partner. Prone to loud and boisterous banter, K'heyo is often found at more lively places. He enjoys the finer things in life (and, by that, I mean alcohol and pretty men/ladies). With that being said, he's a flatterer and a gentleman who should really watch his romantic mouth more closely before he gets himself in trouble. Sly and mischievous, K'heyo isn't above speaking his mind, pulling pranks, or getting on anyone's bad side if he disagrees greatly with someone. He's not shy, by any means. Despite seeming like an obnoxious protagonist, the Seeker has a heart of gold and would do just about anything for his friends... if he likes them enough. What? I mean, of COURSE he'd help them out!

Biography

Childhood

Deep within the depths of the Black Shroud is where his story began. A small, frail Miqo'te babe was stillborn unto a previously-fruitful birth mother and huntress. The pregnancy had been a normal one, with a full term and no signs of anything amiss. However, when the time came to pass, the baby came into the world blue in the face and with eyes devoid of life.

Bewildered, the Hipparion tribal Shaman did his best to aid the child... but naught that he could do seemed to suffice. Whatever ill had befallen the babe was beyond even his control. So, it was with heavy hearts that the parents bowed their heads, prayer upon their lips and an impenetrable gloom settling in upon their hearts like the dense forest fog. They prayed to Azeyma, the sun goddess, that the warm rays of light she bore might blossom life within the child and conquer the cold chill of death. However, when even that yielded no visible result, they were near giving up.

That was when something unlike anything they had ever witnessed before happened: a bright, overwhelming glow drifted down from the heavens and descended upon the babe. It disappeared into the youth's chest, causing the small frame to shudder and tremble. As the light began to ebb, there was a tiny, raspy gasp followed by a fit of crying. K'heyo's parents lowered the arms they had raised to shield their eyes from the prior radiance to see their son living and breathing just like any other baby would. Tears falling from their cheeks, the proud nunh and huntress took turns embracing their son: one who had truly - by some form of miracle - been brought back from the brink of death.

RELATIONS

Romantic Interest Platonic Love Good Standing Poor Standing

K'hatos Tia : A dancer at the Ruby Carbuncle Hotel (now a trading company) whom K'heyo first encountered in the Quicksand. They used to be mates, but have parted ways. The break-up wasn't a messy one, and the two are on their way to becoming good friends once more.

Cecillia Garmont : A hot-headed and independent woman who serves as second-in-command of the Wild Lotus Host Club. She and K'heyo's personalities clash greatly the majority of the time, but they put up with each other and, on rare occasions, even seem to enjoy each others' company.

Ane'ir Miea : One of the members of K'heyo's old free company, Wild Lotus Host Club. Ane'ir joined the club shortly after he first met K'heyo at Buscarron's Druthers. K'heyo and he used to be mates, but things fell apart after a kidnapping incident and Ane'ir came back drastically changed from before. The two separated and haven't seen each other since.

K'shima Rosu : (NPC CHARACTER) K'heyo's mother, and a tribal Miqo'te from birth. She's a delicate little flower of a Miqo'te, or so she would have you think. Despite her frail appearance, K'shima is an apt huntress whom specializes in out-witting her enemies with traps and speed. K'heyo's standing with her is technically 'good' but it's a strained relationship. She loves her son because he's her offspring, but does not approve of his choice to leave the Hipparion tribe. Thus, she will reach out for any possible chance she can in order to convince her son to return to the tribe.

K'rajha Nunh : (NPC CHARACTER) K'heyo's father, who is one of the head nunhs of the Hipparion tribe. He is rugged and well-muscled in appearance with a personality to match. Stubbornness is his strength, in both arguments and battle. His relationship with his son is poor, to say the least. He was furious when K'heyo left the tribe and still is to this day. He supports the tribe's decision to treat him as an exile unless he returns to the tribe and redeems himself in ways they see fit.
