An Unorthodox Mi'qote, said to have been born elsewhere to his clan's usual origins. He was sadly left at the doorsteps of a caring Lalafel couple in Gridania, and raised by the estranged Conjuror's in the arts of healing, alchemy and elementals. Being raised as a natural Gridanian, Kaeus recieved ample opportunities and proved himself greatly gifted in the healing magicks and medicine lore - Training within Limsa Lominsa, Gridania and Eventually to Sharlayan to learn and share his findings in the Academia forum and staying there for some time as an Active member of a Guild known as the Students of Baldesion. As of three years ago, he has returned to Eorzea with a deeper understanding of the world he will happily share, if you don't mind a good ear-chewing.

Appearance

Deep-Blue Cat Eyes reminiscent to ocean water, narrow and honed for night hunting.

His hair changing color often with whatever glamour he fancies. His natural hair-color is long obscured by this habit, seemingly intent on throwing off all those around him for some reason. It can be any color, but often gravitates around deep purples, blues, reds, black or white.

History

Early life:
His origins seem to be from a sect of the Moon tribe, though it's impossible to say which one, or where - given he is an orphan since the time he was a baby.

His 'parents' a loving, if not coddling pair of conjurers - named him Kaeus, though keeping the boys natural last name, or perhaps his proper first name; 'moonbelt' found on a scrap of paper. The boy would grow up knowing his parents where not biological, but not finding himself at a loss because of it. He had no memory of his biological parents, and accepted the doting lalafel pair as his mother and father. Many around him were more in tune with their heritage, but it had never bothered the Mi'qote, who had loftier goals of discovering the world for it's worth and diving into his innate fascination with aether.

Education
As according to his parents, he would undergo the trials of the elements - and in time, he became an established conjurer. With his training adequate, he headed to Limsa Lominsa, where he'd been told the Arcanist's guild was a prominent place of study for aspiring magick users. He continued this end for some time, and it was during one such study of an ancient ruin he came across ancient imperium conjuring techniques, that led to his abilities as a 'Scholar' Despite the term being leniant.

During his 20's he headed for Sharlayan across the seas, to the Isle of Val - and was said to train and partake in many practical and studious pursuits in honing his abilities in aetheric manipulation, healing arts, medicine, thesis and cosmology. At some point during his stay, he gained the ability to summon a small aetheric being known as a 'faerie' named Nieve. This construct is a constant study and curiosity, given it seems to be tied with some parallel dimension.

He is a known associate of The students of Baldesion, a group known to work closely with the Scions of Dawn and Sharlayan, specializing in advanced aetheric studies and inter-dimensional theory.

Only some days past his leaving of sharlayan, the entire Isle of Val disappeared completely. His voyage across seas was heavily delayed due to the ensuing madness and grief, given the ship he had been sailing upon was from the very same isle. Upon finding his way back to Eorzea, he focused much of his time on the mystery of it's disappearance, ending in the island of Eureka -- The selfsame Isles of Val, entirely stripped of it's populace and reinhabited with monstrous creatures. The current theory: Time-travel. With no possible leads or concepts how, whom or why, there is little to debate other than severe loss and grief.

Kaeus has since then returned to Gridania, working alongside the conjurors guild and living within Lavender beds as a doctor to the local populace versed in many forms of medicine, mastering the Nymian arts.

Adulthood
Since his time with the guild continued, he has explored and searched for many Nymian ruins and studied about their culture in search for higher truths. Occasionally helping adventurers and friends with tasks they required. He would stay at a popular inn within mist most nights, one which was frequented by those considered his allies.

How he became a scholar
during one night, Kaeus slipped off without a trace to check something within a Nymian libraries whereabouts that he had tracked with the help of his guild and friends. It was there he discovered a secret room - activated only by the light of the moon. He entered at midnight by himself, and became trapped for some time. It was almost a comatose state, but the whole while he was informed in ancient techniques and secrets projected into his brain much like training. The process was advanced, and yet still slow. It would take him some days before he emerged, slightly bewildered and unaware that any time had passed whatsoever. He felt that his Abilities had grown, however - and slowly discovered that he had a greater knowledge of Nymian techniques as he wandered out. He discovered the camp had gone some time ago, and that no trace of his companions remained.

Sharlayan Arch
Kaeus has been searching heavily, for more scraps of information into his newfound abilities, as well of those about Sharlayan. As of recent, he has discovered something of worth about his family name in the Great Gubal Library. His parents had a lineage amidst those who once inhabited Sharlayan - and it would seem they had left clues for him to discover, amidst multiple ruins and locations. Kaeus hadn't the faintest clue why, or what this all meant. But he would add it to his many things to keep a tab on.

Ex-Bodyguard and assumed friend. Felyna has had to deal with Kaeus and his adventures for most of their relation. Money sweetened the deal, but a bond of friendship made it so much easier over time. Regardless the situation, it always seemed Felyna had a way to get him out. Kaeus came at times, too dependent on her wide variety of skills.

Aside from the common 'Healer' stuff, a list of more precise and noteable abilities due to his studies into Sharlayan Magic and Disciplines, plus his Arcanist training is below. 1. Ability to Leech and nullify almost all known ailments. This includes poisons from Ninja, Magickal afflictions and common disease. (SCH) 1. Able to inflict grievious wounds to any body part, via Aether charged cellular warfare. Most effects increase in potency over time. (ARC) 2. Can summon a Fairy by the name 'Nieve' who assists Kaeus with most advanced trauma and healing. (SCH) 3. Can create barriers, both spherical, wall-shaped and around the frames of people. These barriers can negate a large amount of kinetic and magical damage. (SCH) 4. Able to summon a Carbuncle that is Amethyst in hue and name. Unique to Kaeus on the fact it has similiar mi'qote markings to him. He has lovingly named it 'Purple-Heart' on occasion, but it's name is Amethyst nonetheless. (ARC) 5. The ability to negate pain via the manipulation of cells through Aether. (SCH) 6. Able to regrow and fix body parts. This is incredibly taxing, and often requires the complete consumption of his Fairy companions Aether for an added boost of power. (SCH) 7. Warding and sensory magic, Through the summoning of Aether Wards. Used for relay of information or camp-sights more than anything else. All wards are visible, and create a purple crystalline formation with a noticeable magic that most sensitive to energies will easily find. (SCH) 8. Studies into Astrology, as well as exposure to the Astroligian guild of Ishgard. Can discern Constellations, as well as the gates. Cannot currently tell futures -- but is starting to believe in the concepts beyond the studies. (AST) 9. A peculiar set of gauntlets allow him to Manipulate Aetheryte with ease, and to store his power. It has been rumoured the gauntlets can even be used to trap the power of Voidsent - and that it coalesces with the scholars research into Sharlayan and Allagan techniques of binding, summoning and the constructs related to such. Some even speculate these gauntlets contain a 'White' variety of Aetheryte.

Quirks

Known to make inappropriate or suggestive jokes within the right company, just as often as witty and annoyingly correct observations. Shy amidst most company, till he warms up to them. His shy nature doesn't show itself if he's given the right space, and not thrown into loud and impulsive situations.

A lot of books, potions, scrolls and survival gear. Within his kit, he carries; 1. Ink well, Calligraphy and Writing pens. 2. About 50 or so blank parchments. 3. five or so Tomes relating to Arcanist practices, studies in magic and aetheric manipulation. 4. A kit including Anaesthetics, herbal remedies, tonics, balms and potions. 5. An assortment of pure Aetheryte crystals and Aetheric measuring gear.
