Character

Origions

Klynzahr was born in the year 1550 somewhere in the Northern Islands, now held by the Garleans. She was brought aboard the Lominsian merchant vessel Eyritrachyn at two years of age and raised at sea. She received her first official rank of Cabin Girl 3rd Class, at the tender age of five and continued her service for the next seventeen years. During that time she held the position of ship’s surgeon for a total of four years. Although she was initially presumed to be lost at sea after the Eyritrachyn went down in the calamity, she later resurfaced in Ul’dah as a semi-professional gladiator and member of the adventurer’s guild.

Appearance

Fairly tall for a Sea Wolf woman, Klynzahr stands a full 7 fulms and 2 ilms. Although her solid frame packs considerable bulk, she lacks the chiseled muscle definition seen among some of the lighter Roegadyn. Her skin is grey with blue undertones, and has been roughened and weathered by the elements. She has blue eyes and dusty violet hair, which is quite curly and cut practically short.

Klynzahr is marked by numerous small scars; the signatures of many gladiator's blades and marauding axes. They span the timeline from newly healed pinkish slashes, to grey lines slowly fading back into her skin. Few truly stand out besides the two on her face. The first, which crosses her left cheek, appears to be an old knife wound, while the second one is a deep white gouge across the bridge of her sadly crooked nose.

Like most sailors, Klynzahr has the records of her travels inked across her. Six swallows swoop from her right shoulder down her arm, ending just above the elbow. Below them, a coil of rope encircles her forearm twice. Her left shoulder bears the Lominsian motto "TIL SEA SWALLOWS ALL" above a single blue star. Her lower back depicts a sunken anchor, with the name "Eirytrachen" inked neatly along it's haft. On the outside of both ankles, she has the silhouette of a fighting dodo, while her right knee also bears a comparatively innocent looking sheep. Standing apart from these numerous nautical designs, are the purple lace-like patterns that mark Klynzahr's forehead and left wrist.

Personality

Klynzahr's greatest asset may be the tenacity, which leads her to persist through her endeavors after common sense would suggest otherwise. She balances this tendency, with a calculating mind and a passion for learning. She prefers to consider all facets of a situation before acting, falling back upon her scant arcanist training to attempt an analysis of each outcome. Considering herself a realist, Klynzahr has no qualms with retreating to fight another day but is capable of casting her own fears aside if someone she cares for is threatened.

Stubbornness has frequently been a stumbling block for Klynzahr, making her deaf to the advise of those around her. It also keeps her doggedly bound to the life of a fighter and blinds her to the talents that she posses in other areas. Over thinking often leaves her slow to take action and frequently paralyses her with fear. Klynzahr can be very cowardly, valuing her own skin above pride or honor. Numerous sea battles and years upon Ul'dah's streets have left her particularly sensitive to loud noises and perceived attacks from behind.
