Full Name: Konner Kinkaid (chosen name)
Nicknames: Kin, The Red Rabbit and the Scarlet Samurai
Pronunciation: Conn-Ner Ken-Kaed
Birthplace: The Far Eastern Lands
Age: 41 years old (appears 35 from moving forward 5 years)
Occupation: Leader of the Order of the Sword and Rose and Ronin (samurai without a lord)
Appearance
Height: 5'8"
Weight: 167 lbs
Body: A mostly athletic build that has some true muscle definition and yet not overly slender
Hair: Silver with dark grey highlights, long and scruffy
Eyes: Crimson Red with a distant, lost gaze that seems to draw one's one eyes to them
Skin: Mostly pale white but slightly tanned from travel
Scars and Markings: A scar over his left eye from a sword fight and a crimson red forked tattoo that is actually a branding from his clan on his left cheek. His feet are almost always badly blistered with skin often worn down to bloody patches from his constant walking.
Clothing: Konner wears crimson colored Victorian styled clothing with a high collared shirt and a crimson vest. He has high crimson bloomer style pants and crimson red walking shoes. He wears crimson colored gloves and his traditional 'rabbit-hare' samurai helm. His helmet makes him somewhat of a joke in cities, as it is foreign, but he is quite proud of it as it is a family heirloom of his ancestors.
Voice: He has a soft, calm voice. His voice rarely shows emotion or jumps in pitch. His words are usually direct and poetic. He speaks with a slight what we know as a 'British' accent and uses the word 'bloody' to curse often.
Weapon: Sword (katana). His sword's name is Shinku, which means "crimson". It is an ancient weapon and has been handed down through his clan, The Krimson Katanas, for ages. It contains the souls of all his 'ancestors' that wielded the blade prior to him. Konner does not use shields and only wears heavy armor if necessary, but prefers not to, instead relying on his ability to dodge sword attacks or deflect them.
History
Early Life: Konner was orphaned at a young age when his parents were killed in a war between warring clans. He was taken in by the conquering lord, known as a daimyo in his home lands, as a ward at an orphanage.
The orphanage raised those it housed as samurais to serve the daimyo of the land. He spent his entire youth learning the ways of the bushido and the sword there.
Because the orphans were not noble born warriors like many other samurai warriors, Konner was looked down upon by his peers throughout his training as being lesser born.
Formative Years: When Konner became the age of 16, he completed his training and went to serve the daimyo of his domain. He did so loyally and willingly.
After several years of service fighting in various affairs for his lord and showing fair promise in battle for a non-high-born samurai, at the age of 24 he was sent to serve amongst his daimyo's elite guardian force, The Krimson Katanas. The Krimson Katanas were the clan guardians of the lord at his residence. Konner served loyally with the Krimson Katanas, faithfully protecting his daimyo day after day.
It is not said what happened to the Krimson Katanas, but after serving with them for four years, Konner became the last of his clan, his daimyo fell from power, and Konner left his homelands to travel west to Ul'dah in search of a new life.
It is known that a devastating event occurred with his clan that forced him to take up travel for three years. He bears the mark of this day not only with the scar over his eye and the crimson brand marking on his cheek and in the lost gaze his eyes project to others.
Before the Cataclysm: He came to these lands to learn of them and to work as a hired swordsman, as he is a ronin (a samurai without a lord). He traveled around as a sell sword gaining enough gil to survive on. He never remained in one place too long knowing that he was surely hunted even in these new lands for the events that led to the end of his clan.
Konner met and traveled for a little over a year throughout the old lands of Eorzea before the Empire invaded. He met several interesting people most notable, Naji Mihke, a cabalist witch who tried to steal his kidneys to eat them and placed a curse of unknown origins and powers upon him.
Konner was present when the Empire brought the moon down upon the lands, having went to stand beside Naji in battle. Konner knew that if she died, so did his chance for breaking the curse she laid upon him.
After the Cataclysm: For the last five years, Konner has been suspended as one of those who were removed from the battle by magic. He would not consider himself a "Warrior of Light", as he did not go to the battle with the intent to defend the land. Now that he has returned, he feels the need to once again take up adventure and walk the path of the samurai once more.
He now searches for a noble blooded lord to serve after the cataclysm that tore the lands apart. As he traveled the lands as a high-plains drifter of sorts, he looked to test his sword skills against the greatest swordsmen in these lands. He came to be in the service of the father of Iseia Windsong for a time, who has a wealthy Ul'dah noble. He served him willingly and assisted him in taking his daughter throughout the lands to educate her on the ways of the world. He did so until she fell ill and had to return to Ul'dah.
During his travels, Konner worked various jobs for gil. As he acquired more gil, he sought to create an environment where those of the lands who were different like he was would have a place to always call home. This would be a place were they were hitoride wanai - not alone.
Konner met and befriended the Lord Quarimar. He was a wealthy merchant and lore master who Konner worked for at the Coffer and the Coffin as an attendant and guard. As the two became closer, Quarimar agreed to assist Konner in his goal of financing the opening of a place where those like Konner who were unique and different could have a place to call home in the lands.
Currently: He is now the leader of the Order of the Sword and Rose, an organization he founded in hopes of making the lands more welcoming and aiding to those whom would otherwise go unnotice or be subjected to unwanted hostilities as he was when he first came.
The Order aids those in need who cannot help themselves. They often must also take on matters that are of their members' makings. Konner is very proud of his members and of the Order itself. He would willingly give up everything for it. In the past and throughout the Order's history, he has done such.
Konner recently wed C'Rhisi, who changed her name to Rhisi Kinkaid. They have been traveling together since his days in service to Iseia Windsong's father. Their endeavors together led them to have a mutual respect and an eventual relationship.
Personality
Demeanor: Konner is quiet but not cold nor unapproachable. He is often charming when engaging with others and very civil. He is a good listener and can come across as coy and cold when asked about himself as he is unwillingly to discuss many things concerning his past.
He is always reflecting in on himself to better himself in the ways of the warrior, the spirit and the mind. Konner is driven and haunted by an act he performed before leaving his home lands which he believes has damned him to the seven hells. As such he is a man that believes himself already dead and although he continues to live honorably, he believes that it may be all in vain. This often leads him to come across ans jaded and brash although it is really just that he is a broken man who is sure of his skills after having survived all that he did before leaving his home.
Quirks: He must bathe daily, although he is not afraid to get dirty. He is obsessed with keeping his sword razor sharp. He is known to stop suddenly to listen to things around himself and hates to be interrupted when doing so. He views sneezing and belching in front of others as repulsive. He often wipes his mouth with the back of his sleeve during combat when a moment to do presents itself. He smells like sunflowers. He is color blind to all colors save red. The world is black, white and red only to him.
Intelligence: He is a very educated man in terms of schooling and philosophy having grown up in the care of his former lord. However, he knows very little about the land he is currently in, so he is constantly looking for others to aid him in gaining knowledge about the land.
Lifestyle: Living honorably is the only way Konner knows and the driving force behind every decision he makes. He lives by the way of the warrior and the code of the samurai. He must be honorable and noble in all things. He is loyal to those he serves with, but believes he has the right to choose his own master. He has a sense of justice and will die without thought if it was a noble and honorable death.
Alignment: Lawful Neutral - Konner lives by the honor code of the samurai which binds him to those laws. However, although Konner will not kill without what he sees as being justified to do so, once he begins to wade into his enemies he will spill blood and has no issue with becoming covered in it.
Likes: The color red, fishing, kite flying, reading, brewing and drinking coffee, reading and writing poetry, smoking cigars that he carries that are short and not too big around, cherry blossoms and the shade of trees, especially willows.
Dislikes: Having his helmet made fun of, snoring, people who smell bad from lack of bathing and those who are dishonorable. Also, riding chocobos is something he is not fond of. It is mainly more so because they are not very keen on having him around them. Konner carries a tainted stigma. Animals are very much in tune with auras of people, and thus, do not like his presence. His code will not allow him to consume fermented beverages. This is not a dislike, more so of a way of living.
Goals: Finding a noble blooded lord to serve, to die an honorable death and learning as much about the new land as he can. He also has a desire for atonement, but if asked how and why, he would never answer you.
Skills: Swordsmanship, Fishing and Alchemy - Konner is an experienced demolitionist from his alchemy studies. He is skilled in the use of explosives such as dynamite and aether from his days in the Eastern Lands where gun powder is plentiful in the use of fireworks.
Strengths: Sword fighting, demolitions, walking very long distances and listening
Weaknesses: The color red has been known to drive him into a strange frenzy when he is over exposed to it. He is also prone to nightmares that are very real and disturbing to him at times when he sleeps. As such, he is not the best person to camp with.

They were together when the moon came down. She was his first true friend when he came to the lands. She recently returned for a sabbatical. Kin has yet to find time to see her much since.
Iseia Windsong - The noble Kin was first placed in charge of to travel with after the calamity. Although he enjoyed her company and watching her grow and learn while they traveled together, he never came to know of her much. He misses her even now. He saw her then as a way to make up for his past by tending to a young lady that would be about his daughter's age.
Seamus O'toole - A great and courageous warrior whom Konner knows is true strength. Seamus is a valuable yojimbo to Kin and trusted friend. He is a great and skilled warrior and a master of arms. Quarimar Baenund - The Lord of the Hall of the Order of the Sword and Rose and that whom Konner serves faithfully as his retainer for security. Konner knows very little about his lord, however, he finds him generous and courteous. These are qualities that Konner admires greatly in a being, let alone his master. Quarimar has recently left the lands. This has once again left Kin without a lord to serve. He misses his lord and friend and awaits patiently for him to return.
Rhisi Kinkaid - One of his longest traveling companions from his days with the Seven. She has stood beside him through thick and thin. He met her when she was but a child, lost and looking for her way in the world outside her tribe. Today, he sees her as an equal and is thankful for her friendship and her love. He cannot imagine his life without her now.

They are the very best of friends.
Zasha Hope - A strange, broken young woman who has a child like quality that Konner cannot help but be drawn to. It is her mannerisms that he finds he can find his own redemption in and someone who he can protect and raise as his child. It was discovered she is his blood child. She is now known as Adlynn Akami. Kin would do anything to see her save, but he is also learning that even as his child, he must allow her to be the adult she is.
Astorin Ebrelnaux - His understudy and the man he refers to as 'Number One'. Orin, as he is known to others, is a close friend and excellent compliment to Kin's direct style of leadership. Kin sees Orin as someone who he can work with and help him become a better leader then even Kin, himself, someday. Orin has all the skills Kin does not. he is dashing, a smooth talker and a skilled rouge. Kin knows that together they make a formidable team to lead the Order.
Farrson Odim - A wise and loyal friend who's past very much mirrors Kin's. Kin believes in Farrson. He believes that Farrson has not only been redeemed by his actions, but shown true courage and loyalty to his friends and fellow members. Kin sees Farrson as the living embodiment of the Order. He is someone who has fallen, risen and shown he would serve with others even against his own self-interests.
Family: He has none by blood, as he was an orphan that was adopted by his clan and he is now the last of his clan. Adlynn Akami is his child.
Enemies: None known to be alive.
