Character
General Information
Kori was born in Leeds, a small crafters' village in the Northern Shroud to Julian and Ami Asante; a swordsman and a dancer, respectively. She was their only child, and had a childhood that could be described as happy, if typical. From her father she learned the art of the blade. From her mother grace and proper footwork, and very minor conjury to help in the tending of injured hunters and the village sick. In all of these she was a dutiful student when she could bother to pay attention and not become sidetracked by light breaking through the canopy or squirrels fighting in a nearby tree.
The shroud had many squirrels.
Things continued as things are want to do until the fateful day that a Garlean patrol decided to make use of her village as a shortcut to Eorzea. The village guardians, her father included fought bravely, and to their credit every civilian escaped with only a few injuries. Kori's father fell in that battle, covering the last of the retreat. She was told he died a hero, and she should be proud of him. She was, but she still misses him.
Appearance
Kori is small - the word "petite" comes to mind, but fit. She is usually alert, easily excited and most often smiling. Her hair is platinum, usually braided and styled in a way to keep it up and out of the way for combat.
Despite her height, she believes her legs are one of her best features and tends to wear clothes that show them off.
Personality
Flirtatious. Mischievous. Playful. All of these could be used to accurately describe Kori. Some might also note she isn't the sharpest sword on the rack, though those that know her better would point out she's not dumb - just a bit air headed. She can be serious, if needed, and does try to be somewhat responsible if she can.
She may drink, but not much and only if she is sure she can get herself and who ever she is with home. She will likes to give advice; usually along the lines of following your heart and being loyal to your friends and other such cliches.
Abilities and Skills
Kori trained in swordplay from a young age and is considerably skilled in the use of both medium and heavy blades, although her fighting style wouldn't likely be referred to as "graceful". Instead she throws herself into a fight like a wild animal, attacking with speed and fury that belies her small frame. Her attacks were so frenzied in fact that other hunters and guards from her village would jokingly say that they should call her "Couerl" instead of Kori. She also has some very minor knowledge of Conjury she learned from her mother.
Outside of combat she likes to paint, and shows some talent for it. She also enjoys playing to ocarina, although show's considerably less talent here.
