GENERAL INFORMATION

Kragwulf, like most common Hrothgar of The Lost, set out to not only gain glory, but to find an answer for the biggest question he had in life: "What do I truly want?" He has since spent years honing his abilities in both martial combat and Aethiric arts through many jobs and adventures. Still unsure of his place in the world, and what could possibly cure his life-long curse of boredom, he has embraced the life of a true nomadic mercenary in the hopes of one day finding his heart's desire. To him, the world is filled with wonders to find and adventures to be had. If anything gets in the way of that, he figures he's strong enough to break it or smart enough to fix it.

APPEARANCE

Kragwulf is a tall, well-built Hrothgar with thick, black fur and striking eagle-like eyes. He carries himself with a long, heavy step and holds the male equivalent to resting-bitch-face.
Aspects That Stand Out:
Very unkempt thick, black fur. Looks like it hasn't met a brush in five years.
Eyes with an off-putting, almost threatening stare.
He's 6' 11". Doesn't really blend in that well.

PERSONALITY

Contrary to his appearance, Kragwulf is a very kind, soft spoken man. Upon the first interaction (If you can make it past the intimidating stare) you will find that his vocabulary is in proportion to his likability. If you take the time to look past the cover of Kragwulf's book, you will come to know him as a man that would be willing to share both a beer and a blade with just about anyone. His ambitions have lead him to accepting everyone that takes the time to talk to him as a friend until proven otherwise. Quick to laugh, and often the voice of reason during an argument, Kragwulf is the definition of big, muscle-bound teddy bear.

L I K E S

Fighting: Kragwulf genuinely enjoys everything from a bar brawl to a mage's dual. He often sees these events as a way to bond with others and test his own ability.
Learning: Whether it be development of a new sword stance or a new alchemical recipe, Kragwulf enjoys taking in all the world could offer him. His natural curiosity draws him to learn as much as he can.

D I S L I K E S

Injustice: A merchant raising prices because the starving child has no other market to go to for food, or a city official accepting a bribe. Kragwulf is quick to anger whenever he witnesses actions that he knows aren't right. He is quick to intimidate and raise his sword at the merchant despite the guard's pursuit it might cause, and he is just as likely to embrace the city official's station by defeating his champion in a dual. He often jokes that his actions may get him killed one day, and he's reckless enough that they just might.
Smoking: While happy to take up a mug of ale, Kragwulf can't stand to be near anyone with a pipe.

H O B B I E S

Fishing: A simple enough way for him to find food on-the-go. Kragwulf is never far from his maple rod.
Reading: Whenever he finds himself in a populated area, Kragwulf always asks around to see if there are any book stores with texts in a language he can read. His favorite are stories of grand adventures with classical heroes.

S T R E N G T H S

Martial Weapon Skills: From the largest great-ax to the fastest long sword, Kragwulf prides himself on being able to optimize movements for any weapon. He's not a master by any means, but his ability to learn forms and stances just by practicing with the weapon and reading his own movements as he wields it allows Kragwulf to never be without arms. This innate ability also allows him to adapt to any foreign land's armaments.
Charisma: Having a face that forces people to think twice before giving an approach, Kragwulf has developed a very keen sense of empathy and marketability. His way with words may very well rival that of some bards and nobles.

W E A K N E S S E S

Naivety: Kragwulf has always experienced fear and resentment from others due to being large and imposing. This has caused him to always approach strangers in a friendly manner. Even if he were to be confronted by a mugger attempting to steal his gil, he would first attempt to reason with the assailant even if that would cost him a cut or two.

M O T I V A T I O N S

Adventure: Kragwulf doesn't honestly care about anything outside of his next opportunity to seek out a new experience. He wishes only to take in what the world my offer. His greed for knowledge is only rivaled by his near-worship of excitement and wonder.

FAMILY
None - Unknown
Character's Thoughts: "Do you really need a family when you're never in one place for more than a month at a time?"
Kragwulf left his old life behind. Not only is he unwilling to talk about his life before he started his adventure, but any official records have either been destroyed or never existed in the first place. It's anyone's guess as to how this is possible.
NON-FAMILY
None
Character's Thoughts: "Eh. I'll make friends in the next town."
Kragwulf has a really hard time meeting and keeping friends. Since he doesn't stay anywhere long enough to develop any real relationships, all of his friends are either also adventurers with their own paths to follow, or random people he doesn't even know by name.

RUMORS

N P C

Some of these rumors are untrue, speculation, or are greatly exaggerated.

◢ Common Rumors - Easily overheard. Use these freely!
  • The new adventurer is totally some kind of serial killer that gets off on beating his opponents to a pulp in the gladiator ring.
  • Why does that big scary man always spend so much time by the river?
  • I saw that man buying books about black magic! Why would a scary man like that be into that sort of thing?
◢ Uncommon Rumors - A little more difficult to hear. Use sparingly or ask first!
  • You know that guy that got into town last night covered in blood? I swear I saw him by the river early this morning. No idea what he was up to.
  • Another Hrothgar, eh? From Ilsabard? This one's weird. Saw him juggling fire like some common street performer, but when he was done the fire just vanished. It was like he was making it all on his own.
◢ Rare Rumors - Very rarely overheard. Please ask before using!
"Does Krag have any family I know about?" ... "Nah. Can't say he does. The last time we got on the subject of children he seemed to change the subject super quick like."

ಌ OOC NOTES ಌ

OOC INFORMATION

Player Note
I'm open to pretty much anything. Still guildless, so if you have an RP guild that would have me, I'd be glad to get a message from you. My IRL wife is still working on her character, and we're a package deal.
Personal RP Limits
ERP isn't really my thing, but I'm okay with sexual themes inside other RP situations. Really not okay with full character death. (I worked hard on this guy, come on, man.) Also not okay with permanent disfigurement. (I'd like to keep all four limbs, please) Everything else is okay.
I will play Anything not listed below
I won't play ERP for ERP's sake, gore for gore's sake.
Disclaimer
I'm a really easy-going guy that has been burned by a lot of guilds in the past. I feel like RP grants an extra layer of closeness for any guild, so I understand it can sometimes lead to extra drama that could otherwise be avoided. Please understand that if that happens, I'm probably just going to check out until it resolves itself.
I use FFXIV to escape from real life sometimes. Expect to see me in-game for prolonged periods of time if I'm not working. My wife plays pretty much just like I do, so we really are a package deal. We're together almost 24/7.

CHARACTER TIDBITS

Potential Plot Hooks
Kragwulf's supposed to be huge, intimidating, and scary until you talk to him. Dude looks like he could charge through ten brick walls, rip open the nearest person that looks at him the wrong way, and then shake the whole inn down for their Gil. If you don't know him, he legitimately looks like angry guy that'll bite your head off. (Literally) If your character's intimidated by him, showing fear will get him to approach you to try and ease that fear. If your character's the type to start a fight over the way he looks, Kragwulf enjoys fighting to the point of letting you beat him till blood shows and then he'll start laughing.
Kragwulf knows a bit of magic. Just enough to look cool. Think less "I make the forest explode" and more "I can light that fireplace for you. Stop fighting with those wet matches." Given how rare it is to have someone recognize this distinction, Kragwulf gets into a lot of trouble when he's showing off a bit too much. He is capable of some healing, but it's a very base level. A minor cut or bruise is fine, but you're going to have to look for someone else if you need to get rid of even a light cold.
I do combat RP through dice-rolls (D20 style)
Approach as you want. I'm open to interacting with everyone.
Character Lore Adherence
What lore? I have lore? Since when? Why didn't anyone tell me this?
