Appearance

Kuri is of average height for an Auri lady, two ilms shy of five feet. She has wide downward pointing tapered horns, and white scales across her cheeks under her eyes. Her skin is fair, and her short hair is a dark blue with red-brown dyed highlights. Her eyesight is not terribly good and she wears oval spectacles. Her figure is slight and not terribly athletic, a result of her bookish nature. Though not terribly strong in a raw power sense, she does have a fair bit of endurance, enjoying long walks out of doors to discover new things.

Personality

Warm, personable, kind hearted, curious, at times headstrong regarding her work and life decisions. She likes to talk to new people and find out about them. She likes to do things her way and gets fussy when others, especially her sister, try to steer her one way or another. When some subject or idea catches her fancy, she will learn all she can about it.

Background

Kuri grew up with her Mother, Father, twin sister Kurumi and younger brother Fumio in their Grandfather's bookbinding shop and book store in a large town in Doma. Their shop managed despite the Garlean occupation, as the family kept their heads down and noses clean, not wanting to lose what they were lucky to have. However, when Kuri and Kurumi were in their teens, their mother disappeared and was later found dead under mysterious circumstances, possibly at the hands of the Garlean army. After reaching her mid twenties, she realized her lifelong dream to go explore Eorzea across the sea, and begin to research and write and encyclopedia as an update to the old books in her grandfather's shop. She sneaked out of Doma on a pirate vessel, with Kurumi in tow, as the twins were inseparable. A few weeks later their brother arrived as well, feeling left out of the adventure. She currently lives in a long term rented room in the Quicksands, making research forays from there until she can manage a more permanent housing solution.

Relationships

Family:

Otoo-san: Kuri's father is a bookbinder by trade, having learned from his father. He is a kind and intelligent man who encouraged Kuri in her scholarly pursuits.

Okaa-san: Kuri's mother was a typical tradesman's wife, looking after the shop front and her family, doting on her children and husband. She died under mysterious circumstances, possibly at the hands of the Garlean occupation army.

Ojii-chan: A kindly, patient old man who founded the family bookbinding business many decades ago. Has a large collection of scholarly books that are ostensibly for sale but he would never part with.

Kurumi: Kuri's elder twin sister, a ninja by training. She accompanied Kuri to Eorzea to keep her headstrong younger sister "out of trouble," but also was extremely curious about the strange land to the west. Very protective of her younger sister.

Fumio: Kuri and Kurumi's younger brother. He is headstrong and stubborn, and tries to act and appear tough and cool. Secretly has a soft spot for animals and is actually very kind and gentle. Kuri pushes him around and scolds him a lot.

Friends and Acquaintances:

Jun Nakatomi: A fellow Doman expat. She helped calm some sort of entity in his mind once, though she know's little about him.

Izkairin Rish: A strange, wild miqo'te man. Whenever they talk they have trouble understanding each other, and odd misunderstandings ensue.

Rhuya Moui: Izkairin's wife. She seems uncomfortable around Kuri, probably has never met any other Au Ra?

Camille Everardi: A fond acquaintance, would like to know her better.

Valena Verloren: Camille's older half-sister. They have a similar interest in researching strange things.

Reppu Hijiri: An Auri lady, also of Othard. Seems rather straightforward and forthright.
