[edit] Details Personality Relationships Rumors Gallery OOC Notes GENERAL INFORMATION Born heir to House Wilhelmin, a minor but respectable noble line of Ishgard, Laurent watched his family name erased overnight when the Viscountess—his mother—was branded a heretic. Raised in the Brume by his half-sister Lynette Greystone, he trained himself to wield a shield with the hope of protecting those he loved. Lynette’s later death shattered what little faith he had left in Ishgard. He rose through the ranks of the Temple Knights with calculated grace, clearing his family’s name and plotting the downfall and deaths of those responsible. Yet vengeance brought no peace. When the Dragonsong War finally came to an end, Ishgard was moving on, but Laurent could not. He laid down his post and left the Holy See, traveling beyond Coerthas in search of meaning — or perhaps punishment. APPEARANCE Laurent is a tall, lean man with an athletic build honed by years of martial training. Among those who cross his path, he is known as a courteous but distant man. He has light brown hair, often kept long enough to partly shadow his face, and his eyes are strikingly mismatched. Aspects That Stand Out: ■ Heterochromia: Left eye warm pinkish red, right eye a stormy gray. PERSONALITY Laurent is outwardly polite and charming, a model of the perfect knight. Beneath that mask, however, he is highly calculating, cunning, and strategic, able to read people and situations with uncanny precision. He is protective of those he cares about, yet trusts very few, and hides his true thoughts behind layers of social grace. His true emotions are expressed only in rare, private moments. There is a kind of alertness and innate distance that had been instilled in him. Viscountess Liliane is the siblings' shared mother. She was more involved in Laurent's life, but he was too young to remember the details. Lord Ederic, Father. ( ✝ ) - Title. Character's Thoughts: "He took me hunting once... It's no use thinking about him now. He's dead." The biological father of Laurent, who was from a noble line proper. NON-FAMILY Bujir Tumet, it's complicated. ( ♥ ) - Title. Character's Thoughts: "He is infuriatingly stubborn and naive. I don't understand why they rush to sacrifice themselves..." Bujir was one of the Au'ra refugees that set the wheels in motion, ultimately leading to Lynette's death. Laurent knew it was not their fault, but he cannot let go that easily. In making Bujir do his dirty work, Laurent also knew he was exploiting Tumet's guilt, initially commanding, humiliating, and testing him under the pretext that "you owe me a sister." He doesn't admit it yet, but he had gotten attached to him. Ed, childhood friend. ( ♦ ) - Title. Character's Thoughts: "She’s loud, reckless, and annoying sometimes—but somehow she keeps me grounded." Laurent sees Ed as both a tool and a companion. He respects her instinctive skill and adaptability, yet finds her casual, carefree nature irritating at times. While he occasionally softens around her, he rarely lets her see his true calculations, keeping a subtle distance. Nevertheless, he cares greatly about her.
