Physical Description:

The ultimate and final Azys Lla grown and inspired creation of a desperate mother, Lux bears much similarity in frame and coloration to her mother, Ebon Yxi. Now bearing a body similar to a viera, though exceptionally curvaceous as seems to be the woman's preference, Lux's previous body was dark blue skinned instead of grey, standing just a few inches shorter than her mother. Featuring black hair with a hint of silver highlighting, with very faint black markings framing her eyes and nose (and marking her forever as an experiment.). She bears none of the cursed scarring or markings of her mother, but despite appearing fairly 'alive' features allagan alloy plating and reinforcements in various locations on her body. It is evident at a glance that the 'mammet' could not survive or exist without most of these parts. With the change to a more viera-like appearance, Lux has taken care to shield and conceal most of her mechanical parts under 'flesh,' though her construction reveals areas where her body is still curiously textured and hardened, appearing similar to cracks.

Of note, it seems that Lux has retained her mothers fangs. A look at her teeth reveals them to be almost unnaturally white and 'perfect,' if a bit long in the fangs. Nails (clawed) are kept likewise immaculate and do not grow or generally fracture. What skin does show is well cared for and has a slight healthy sheen to it, though given her dark coloration, it can be a touch hard to gauge her actual health. Her tail had to be heavily replicated and is mostly artificial, though it seems she can feel with it much akin to skin. High on the middle of her back, silvery metal reinforcing her spine can be seen, exposing just the barest hint of her inner chassis.

Lux maintains nearly the same curvature as her mother, which can easily be described as lush or full. Whether this is natural or a result of her mother's intended handiwork to salvage and save her daughter is impossible to say. Her body bears none of the corrupt black crystallization her mother was plagued by, with no evidence of the symbiotic relationship her mother had save, perhaps, for the coloration of her eyes.

Those sensitive to aetheric disturbances or manipulations, however, may get the disconcerting sense that they are being watched even when Lux is not looking at them. When the mammet becomes emotional, there is a sense that she might be a puppet being manipulated, and in very rare moments of aetheric backwash or being bathed in magic, one can see the faintest outline of what might be a 'ghost' lurking near Lux Yxi's shoulder.

Lux is almost always accompanied by floating magitek bits or experiments that both monitor, defend, and inform her of changes in her surroundings. Also notable is that, being a construct as she is, despite the flesh of her form, she does believe in 'upgrading' her body and regularly seeks to refine her form and functionality on a regular basis.

Personality and History:

Lux is 'usually' very much like a proper mammet in that it can be remarkably hard to gauge if she has emotions or moods at all. Fairly neutral to most things, she can very often come across as disapproving or non-chalant while analyzing situations and people around her. That said, she is not entirely emotionless, just somewhat slow to expose her own thoughts and feelings. Favoring logic and analysis over emotions, she has an appreciation for the practical and for ingenuity, and expresses frustration or outright disgust at self-harm and weakness. She is entirely capable of critical thought, possesses her own will, and can become fiercely protective or defensive of the few things she comes to treasure. 'Naturally,' she does not react well to the mistreatment of magitek of any variety, and loves refining old versions, considering scrapped projects 'a cruel insult' or a 'failure.'

Lux was 'born' in Azys Lla, where her meddling and manipulative mother discovered her to be stillborn. While her bodily functions seemed fairly capable of sustaining life on their own, Lux had little to no aetheric prescence and effectively had no soul at birth, and her mother placed her into an allagan culture tube in an attempt to preserve her child. Ebon had no means to 'grant' Lux a soul, however, and as Lux's body was artificially grown, enhanced, and cultivated, the child (soon to be woman) showed no signs of actually waking, dreaming, or having any awareness of the world around her. An attempt to 'imprint' the brain produced some limited success, but produced no daughter, but a berserk, magitek nightmare that almost resulted in disaster.

Lux was placed back into her chamber in a sort of stasis with the help of some of her mother's engineering corps, and Ebon was left to ponder if it was time to give up on her daughter. She came up with a gamble to salvage and possibly breathe newfound life into her daughter some time later, when she discovered that the recently deceased, for a short time (generally) leave the aether of their souls after death. This was cultivated for an outright forbidden and illegal experiment as Ebon, effectively, used de-aspected crystals and magitek to attempt to 'process' and refine the remains of souls that she could capture. This amalgamation was never quite complete until Ebon herself passed away from the same massive corruption that had empowered her for many years.

Shortly after Ebon's violent passing, Lux finally opened her eyes with some sense of awareness. The previous imprinting still lingers, perhaps in no small way suppressing the emotions and pain that her imbued aether inspires. The mammet does not consider Eorzea nor Othard home, but as her mother had assets in both, can be found regularly in either location. She has, likewise, taken over the magitek design lab that her mother used to run operating out of the Goblet, though it has since relocated to the far more neutral outskirts of Kugane. It is small and focuses on simple projects like handheld weaponry, mammets, and other such inventions, but it is clear that larger projects are also underway as pieces of magitek armor are sometimes seen in the yard.

Reports:

Imperial affiliated characters may be aware or discover that Lux is well documented and known amongst the castrums around Eorzea, Othard, and Azys Lla. She was born with no proper name, and thus literally uses her imperial rank as a name as she has replaced her mother.

Characters with the Echo (or very strong affinity to Hydaelyn, aware or not) may find Lux oddly intriguing and yet slightly terrifying for unknown reason.
