M'anakir "M'ana" Haigo, formerly M'anakir Kan, (11th Sun of the 4th Astral Moon) was born and raised under the scorching sun of Thanalan. When younger, he aspired to be a dancer similar to those of Ul'dah, and still remembers how from his training days. However, a broken heart and problems in his tribe caused him to venture out into Eorzea to start anew a few years ago. The start of his travels led him to the Pugilist Guild in Ul'dah; he has since then trained vigorously, maturing himself along the way, to finally become a skilled Monk.

Appearance & Personality
- Personality: M'ana tends to keep to himself and can appear to be reserved, at first. He has usually been regarded as being tranquil, affectionate, a great cook, as well cautious in certain situations. But old habits seem to die hard for him, so he tends to be a bit flirtatious at times.
- Appearance: He is always sure to be quite expressive in his appearance. He first started with his amaranth colored eyeshadow around the same time that he began to take an interest in dancing when he was young. Since then, he has always continued to remain with that appearance and has added in additional amaranth colored markings as he grew older. His slightly flamboyant appearance is something that he prides himself in, but should certainly not to be mistaken for a lack of seriousness. Since he was a teenager, M'anakir had always been fairly muscular. His training to become a monk greatly toned his body, while retaining the well-defined form of his hips. He greatly dislikes to wear suffocating clothing such as long pants and boots and will almost always be found wearing a pair of culottes or shorts with sandals or calligae.
Biography
Childhood - Teenage Years
- M'anakir grew up as an only child and was always quite energetic. In his very early ages, he got along well with many of the other Tias and was "just another one of the boys". However, at around the age of 6, he began to sprout an interest in dance, something that was not common, if not unheard of, for the males of his tribe. His mother would take him to Ul'dah on occasion when she would visit the Sapphire and Ruby Road Exchanges. It was during those visits that young M'anakir saw the Ul'dahn dancers and sparked his enthusiasm in dance; he wanted to be able to dance just as the Ul'dahn dancers did. At home, he would begin to practice by mimicking the movements he had seen during his visits. His mother noticed that M'anakir had gained an interest in dance and was hesitant, at first, of what to make of it. She herself was not a dancer, but eventually encouraged M'anakir's ambitions and guided him to the dancers in the tribe who would be able to instruct him better than she could. His father was a bit skeptical of his son's desire to dance, but was cautiously supportive, regardless. As M'anakir grew older, his would assist him with the toning of his physique for his performances, and for self-defense.
- Although his parents encouraged M'anakir's desire to dance, there were many others in the tribe who disagreed. Some of the Tias around his age would make rude remarks about M'anakir, but he had already learned not to be bothered by them. He had close friends who he knew he could rely on for support, the closest of which was M'asah Tia. M'anakir and M'asah had been friends since they were very young, and M'asah always seemed to support M'anakir's desire to dance and vocally defend him. The two were practically inseparable at times and M'asah would always enjoy watching M'anakir practice.
- As M'anakir grew to a late teenager, he became a bit more foolish. He attained an attitude, grew to be a bit flirtatious than most, and also became a bit promiscuous.
Tribe Departure - Present
Miscellaneous
- Why "Kan" and not "Tia"?
- M'anakir uses “Kan” because he left his tribe on less than ideal terms (an informal type of exile), and therefore rid himself of his “Tia” title. The significance of “Kan” has yet to be explained by M'anakir.
- Why Does He Prefer M'ana Instead of Anakir?
- In a break from the usual, M'anakir was actually named after his father’s grandmother, his name being a variation of her name, Anakih. As a child, he disliked that fact, mostly due to being teased, and insisted on “M'ana” being his nickname. To this day he still prefers M'ana, but no longer holds the strong dislike for his name that he had as a child.
