[edit] Details Personality Relationships Rumors Gallery OOC Notes GENERAL INFORMATION Hailing from Doma, Makoto is a cheerful, friendly Au Ra healer with serious memory issues. Currently she travels Eorzea searching for knowledge of foreign healing methods both mundane and magical. APPEARANCE Makoto is a tiny Raen woman who appears to be in her early twenties. Short even by Au Ra standards, she measures at just barely over 4'9, and is fairly thin. Her short royal-blue hair turns to a dark purple towards the ends. Snow-white scales adorn her pale skin. Her legs, when exposed, show several scars from the bites and claws of wild beasts. Typically Makoto wears more modest clothing; it's rare that she wears anything more revealing than a long skirt and a modest blouse. In cities or towns a pair of sandals protect her feet, though when venturing into the wilderness she replaces them with comfortable boots. Often she adorns her horns with jewelry, ranging from simple bands to elaborate ornaments similar to the more intricate of earrings. A band of cherry blossoms commonly adorns her neck, while a leather-wrapped journal never leaves her side. PERSONALITY Happy, caring, and helpful to a fault, Makoto is a generally cheerful individual. She loves to help out when and where she can, especially if someone is injured or in need of medical attention. She has been known to even treat the wounds of those who only moments before had raised their swords against her. However, she is a highly forgetful individual, and can sometimes be absent-minded. It's not uncommon for her to forget a conversation hours before, or even individuals from one day to the next. Her journal that she carries at all times stores important facts, times, or random musings she realizes are important, but anything not written within its pages may be lost to the girl. Doing so requires her to gather said herbs, so she spends some time wandering any nearby woods for the necessary components. ■ Cooking. Her cooking skills are sub-par, especially with the unfamiliar ingredients of Eorzea. Still, she tries her best, and every now and then may be able to churn out something edible. ■ NOTE. Makoto is a caring individual; she will drop anything and everything to help friends, family, and even strangers. Spend more than a few hours around Makoto, and her forgetfulness will become extremely evident. Unless something makes an impression, she is unlikely to remember it past a few hours. ■ Physically Weak. Makoto may be many things, but athletic is not one. She tires easily, gets winded from even brief exertions, and finds herself unable to carry large loads. ■ Naïve. Unfortunately, Makoto tends to be on the trusting side, even to her own detriment. She'll generally take one's words at face value, and is rarely suspicious of someone not proven to be unreliable. M O T I V A T I O N S ■ Learn Eorzean Magic - Since she finds herself living in Eorzea temporarily, Makoto wishes to learn all she can about the magic and apply it to her healing techniques. ■ Reunite with Family - After wandering off from the rest of the Doman refugees, she has become lost and unable to locate where the refugees have settled in Eorzea. Makoto desperately wishes to be reunited with her parents and siblings. ■ Assist the Weak - Ultimately, Makoto wishes to help the injured and wounded, and much of her studying is devoted to learning healing arts. Personal RP Limits I am generally willing to explore a lot of different themes, including darker ones. However, please clear anything with lasting effects, both mental and physical, with me ahead of time. I want to be able to continue to play Makoto, and have fun doing so; death, severe trauma, or massive long-term injuries are not conducive to this. ■ I will play Light themes, slice of life, action, even mature themes may be explored (see below for limits on this though). I don't mind being a support character either. Generally I'm pretty open, but please ask ahead of time if you think something might be concerning. ■ I won't play First and foremost, I am not comfortable with ERP; at most, I'm comfortable with a fade to black, but would keep it at that. RP that goes against established lore, godmodding, or similar is also an immediate no-go for me. Disclaimer Little Tidbits. ■ Please understand that anything done by Makoto is done by her, not the player. Feelings, positive and negative, do not necessarily mirror those of the player. ■ I can on occasion be called away by real life obligations. In these events I will do my best to finish a scene, or find a way to bow out gracefully, but this isn't always the case. I promise it's nothing personal, but real life takes precedence and all that good stuff. ■ Sometimes my typing can be a bit slow; I haven't forgotten about you, I'm just trying to type out something suitable. CHARACTER TIDBITS Potential Plot Hooks Makoto is a healer first and foremost. If you need someone to patch you up, or you think you might end up in a situation where it's necessary, she's your girl! She also volunteers wherever possible, so that's a potential opportunity. ■ Due to her forgetful nature, she has a tendency of wandering, whether it be through cities or towns, or out in the wilderness. It's easily believable that she might come across another character while aimlessly traveling. ■ Makoto is in search of other Doman refugees, specifically the group with her mother and some siblings. Should a character know anything about these groups, she would be incredibly thrilled to hear. Character Lore Adherence Generally I'm fine with bending lore a little bit, especially to flesh out areas that may not be well developed or explored by Square Enix. Certain assumptions can be made to to help make unique and interesting characters, provided these assumptions don't fly in the face of reason. However, repeatedly breaking established lore is a no-go for me. I do my best to remain as lore-compliant as possible with my characters (though I do make mistakes, so if any are spotted please say something so I can correct it). ■ Established characters. I personally don't have a problem if people use them in RP to help tell the story, but I do expect them to be played in a way that is supported by the story. It makes sense, for example, that we might encounter Cid across various travels. It makes significantly less sense if he claims the PC is his long-lost lover/child/friend/whatever.
