Character

Appearance

Matthias isn't one for physical appearance being much of a matter. Usually adorned in a robe or cloak of some sort to keep out the elements. His hair is usually hanging over his eyes, not styled usually. Blond and black in color over his mismatched eyes. Silver and a light lavender mattering on which eye is seen. The story behind the lavender in his left eye is one unknown to nearly anyone, it isn't a natural occurrence. His physique is strong, but not that of a fighter. Muscle density showing, well shaped and useful in it's own right to a man of his setup in life. He's not a physical person by looks though, strong as he is, his enclosed demeanor is to show his preference as a tactician and back lines fighter. Relying on his magic and companions to keep himself from harm.

Behavior

Matthias is a tactician and strategist at heart. Wit, intellect and logic dictate his own thoughts in all aspects of his life. From his fighting all the way to his love life, everything is thought over multiple times before he will ever agree to it. He's not often one to be taken advantage of or to be manipulated, being the one usually in that seat of doing so himself. His actions all have a higher purpose though, behaving in a manner that will benefit the whole more than the singular. Fair, good hearted and even as a narcissist, he attempts to portray himself as humble and well spirited. More the type to sit around with a drink and a joke than harsh words and fighting.

Combat

General

Matthias is, as said, a tactical student of combat. Leading groups from the rear and challenging himself to bring everyone home alive in the end. His strengths reside in his ability to adapt. Where he can pre-plan well, it's never enough. Even the greatest can fall if they are not flexible to the winds of change.

Personally, he relies on his companion Carbuncle to keep distance between himself and his target. Choosing to fight at range using arcanima to bring about a slow, methodic defeat for his foes as they wither under the effects of his magic.

Matthias's family is something he never speaks of and refuses to in most situations. Unless it's an absolute necessity, he'll never speak on it. Even when asked, he simply acts as if he didn't hear the question or brush it off as unnecessary.

Matthias has few actual friends. Most around him are those who work for him.

Enemies

Matthias has few enemies. And those who are he doesn't know of.

History/Timeline

Before the calamity is a bit of a mystery for the man. Should someone be truly interested in finding out, he may speak of it one day. But it will take time and effort to get the man to open up. It's not a troubled memory being hidden by pain, it's simply the logic of one not being able to move forward while always dwelling in the past.
