Physical Description:

Minerva is a well developed Au ra, standing at a height of five feet, three inches, with a three and a half-foot long, barbed tail. She has dark violet eyes, with a slightly brightened, pinkish limbal ring around them, faintly slanted, and somewhat short dark purple hair, which, when not bound up in tails, is kept in a short but 'poofy' bob. Small horns peek out of her hair on either side of her forehead, and slanted 'wings' shield her cheeks and the back of her head, a dusky purple in coloration.

She is, for the most part, smooth-skinned, but dark scales decorate her cheeks, her neck, the sides of her belly, her hips, her ankles, and the backs of her wrists like most au ra. Unlike most, however, small, single-scale thin patterns, symmetrical, can be found on her breasts, along her back, and on her thighs. They appear to be vaguely flame rune-like. The purple scaling is kept polished and somewhat smooth, though jagged at the edges. Minerva's skin is a crisp tan in color, not unlike searing butter in a skillet. The toned skin is well-treated, shiny and reflective of a good deal of light, particularly moonlight and firelight.

Minerva does not wear much equipment, per say. She seems to favor rather simple clothing when engaging in monk-styled combat, relying more on the aether and her innate combat abilities to remain mobile, and her well trained and defiant body to block, stop, or turn aside what blows she cannot evade. However, when choosing to rely on steel or weaponry, it is not unheard of for her to favor full suits of armor or leather outfits to help her with her contraptions. She has an X shaped tongue bolt. This bolt is enchanted, and at will, Minerva seems to be able to sharpen the top two edges. Not a major weapon, but still an intimidating one, for some. Usually, Minerva bears a pair of fingerless gloves, armored and made of mithril. These gloves bear a curious stone on the back of her hand that matches the color of her eyes. For those sensitive to the aether, it seems oddly offputting for no discernable reason.

Speaking of those sensitive to the aether... Minerva in general seems to be 'slightly' anomalous. An unsettling, though not entirely displeasing, sensation seems to accompany her, unintentionally focused around the au ra and which she seems to be entirely unaware of. For the most part, Minerva does not outwardly display signs of magical-prowess or the ability to manipulate the aether around her... but when drawn into a passionate conflict or in the throes of battle, she seems to 'gather' the aether around her and twist it into her own needs, using the land around her to manifest what appears to be magic, but lacking the customary chanting or rituals to unleash aether-warped effects. For the rare times she can be seen casting as a Black Mage... she is horribly and offensively clueless about anything beyond drawing on the aether to manifest her abilities, or the use of a focus.

Her voice is silky, with heavy emphasis on her Rs. It becomes somewhat husky when she is agitated or amused, taking on a more sultry tone. She, however, is not too hard to understand beyond the strange purring.

Personality:

Minerva is 'generally' a very friendly au ra, despite the Xaela's violent history, who very much prefers to play simple and dumb on initial approaches with people she doesn't know. She does not take kindly to being called animal or monster nicknames though (for example: wyvern), and people who constantly insist on trying to touch her wing-like horns or tail will very quickly find her both nervous and irritated. The woman is sharper than she both acts and appears, but this rarely shows outside of combat unless the lives of herself and her friends are in peril. She is fiercely protective of friends and, now that she's found one, family, and her personal lack of real honor means she will go to any means to eliminate threats to either if she senses them.

Minerva only recalls scant details about her history in the earlier years of her life. She remembers her father, some of her family, yet cannot recall details of her mother for the life of her. Attempting to do so both frustrates her and amasses a migraine swiftly. At some period around thirteen years of age, her memory is a blank, the au ra unable to recall what, exactly, tore her away from her family. She seems to have lost some twenty years to this void, however she recalls waking up on Eorzean ground, being treated for injuries in Wineport. While she cannot recall just what brought her to Wineport, the particularly studious and investigative sort would find that she was actually saved during an incursion into the nearby Garlean base, where she was found contained in some strange contraption held in captivity. Out of her senses, the freed au ra attacked the rescue party, but was swiftly put to sleep by their summoner. What she does know, is that she was a fighter of some fashion even then, as she cannot recall being unable to do the basic maneuvers she performs in training and combat today, believing that her unrecalled past is a heavy factor. Questions about her strange scaly patterning, her odder features, or even her piercing result in a nonchalant shrug from the au ra. Whatever happened happened, she only has now. She currently makes a home in Uld'ah, in the Goblet, though she is known for prowling the back streets and alleys of Ul'dah while avoiding the main strips. She seems very happy to have encountered her half-sister, Graive Elune, there.
