Mozmoetta Efrietté
Mozmoetta Efrietté (Mawz-moe-et-uh Eff-ree-et-uh) is a twenty four year old Raen currently living in Eorzea within the deepest parts of The Lavender Beds. She was raised by her adopted mother Mumbi Praetury on an unknown island off the coast South Eastern Thanalan. She was taught to read Tarot Cards and Star Signs at a very young age by Mumbi, when she became a teenager she was sent away to a traveling circus based in The Shroud where she made a living under the name "Efri of The Far East" despite having no knowledge of Au Ra dialect or actually living in The Far East.
In Mozmoetta's young adult years she began hearing rumors of The Atheneum Astrologicum (The AA) based in Ishgard and how they "used cards to heal people and cast powerful spells," by another circus performer. After some time considering she decided to take a chance and travel to Ishgard in hopes she would be accepted by the Astrologians studying there. To her dismay, her Tarot Card reading proved useless to the scholars, but her deep knowledge of Star Signs impressed them despite her age. She studied and was accepted by The AA at the age of seventeen, and graduated at the age of twenty one.
Halfway through her career studying as an undergraduate, Mozmoetta began experiencing intense and intricate nightmares. After attributing them to stress for a time but still having them despite taking measures to relax, she began doing research on her visions and eventually came to an understanding that the darkness she was feeling had to do with the same "darkness," Dark Knights and dark aether users experienced. She became enthralled in the Dark Arts but studied only in secrecy while still working on her studies as an Astrologian. Fearing suspicion and prosecution by The Ishgardian Orthodox Church (The IOC), she began to mingle with high ranking officials and wealthy nobleman to better blend in when she wasn't studying. When she became comfortable enough with her status she once more shifted her focus to studying the was of Dark Knighthood, learning of their various fighting styles, myths, and ways of living before The IOC spurned them. Major Naire, an investigator serving under Cardinal Kellam in an undisclosed branch of The IOC was aetheric sensitive enough to sense her muted abilities during a gathering and began an investigative campaign to reveal her abilities and lock her away, or execute her.
Dodging the authorities in Ishgard, she disembarked to The Far East in unknown locations for a period of six months before her reappearance in Eorzea with a large sum of gil. She bought property in The Shroud and created a home for herself in seclusion.
