Character

General

Garlean born, ex-soldier, smart, deserter, quiet, there are many words to describe N'zhat, but probably the most correct is 'hungry'. Not for food, but for knowledge, knowledge and atonement. Not only did he help kill Eorzeans, not only did he run when he couldn't take it, but N'zhat's people were the reason for the Seventh Umbral age. He came to Eorzea after he'd heard stories of magic, of gods, of Primals, the boy was enthralled- how could he not? Leaving his tribe, N'zhat joined the Garlean army at sixteen. He was not there when Bahamut broke from its prison, but he saw the Primal on its journey of destruction, he saw fire and death.

Since the night he ran from his burning camp he had been helping rebuild farms and towns, gaining knowledge of the Eorzean gods and the large territory. N'zhat tells no one of his origins, instead he pretends he was born in Gridania and travelled after the calamity to help. Now the Miqo'te 'returns' to Gridania in order to train, learn and document his findings as the world is thrown into the new Umbral age.

Appearance

For a Miqo'te male N'zhat's height is just under average, then again that seems to sum the man up well. "Just under average". He's not the most muscular, nor the fittest, and his tail is short -which is his main contention with his own appearance. Though his frame makes him quick and nimble and his jumps higher -useful for a dragoon in training. His eyes are bright orange and slitted, his skin is fair and he has a scar on his chin -which he will claim is from a bad nick in the battle field, when in actual fact it was from losing a fight with one of his sisters. As well as the usual markings of the Miqo'te he also three marks on his nose, given to him by his mother upon his leaving with the Garlean Empire for Eorzea.

Behavior

N'zhat will engage and talk should the person have something interesting to say or an intriguing story to tell- which since Bahamut's awakening most people do. He is kind to those he knows and tolerant of those he doesn't. He is constantly on-guard due to his history, he feels most Eorzeans would hate him for being Garlean and most Garleans would loathe him for running and helping Eorzeans.

He is most happy or at peace when reading or talking about the Twelve, Primals or magic. When fighting or questing he is serious and quiet, he hates training but knows he must get stronger. Because of this he rarely talks on quests and when he does it's usually about finishing it as fast as possible. Despite his hang ups on battle, he is always ready to explore and gets giddy when he sees something magic or left behind by ages past.

Combat

General

N'zhet feels the most comfortable with a lance in his hands. His father abhorred projectiles and thus the man never picked up a bow, and magically challenged he can barely hold a decent spell. Thus Lances. His small frame helps with evasion and manoeuvring the battlefield. The Miqo'te is somewhat hesitant in battle, trying to find a peaceful solution with enemies before resorting to fighting. That being said once he begins to fight he will not stop until the job is done, if for no other reason that the certainty of safety of him and his friends in the death of an enemy -dead men draw no swords.

As mentioned before, N'zhat is magically impugned, but is more likely to leap into battle with people who are magically inclined if for no other reason than being able to see the spells at work.

Relationships

Family

How N'zhat's tribe came to Garlemald is a mystery. N'zhat's father never told him and that is because he was probably never told himself.

N'zhat's tribe was small, one nunh: N'zhat's father, five females each with two children. N'zhat was the only male of the tribe. Being the oldest he was expected to challenge his father at some point to become the new nunh, but he left for the army before that day came. As a result his father disowned him, and his mother gave him three marks on his nose to remember her by. His tribe are still in Garlemald and N'zhat can't imagine he'll return, nor does he see himself starting his own tribe.

Siblings

N'zhat's tribe was a relatively young one and as a result N'zhat was the oldest of his family. His full-blood sister was born a year after him. She was gentle, sweet and always good with children. There was a large gap between N'zhat and birth and the rest of their siblings. As a result N'zhat never grew close to his sisters and after the years most of their names have faded from memory.
