General ➺
A smooth-talking, Steppe-born Xaela educated by the Thavnairian embassy in Kugane. With shrewd eyes and a sharp smile, one can never be sure what—exactly—he is thinking or whose side he is truly on.
Nakhu Oronir was born on the Azim Steppe and spent his early life there among his tribe. At the age of 16, he left to work for the Thavnairian ambassador in Kugane, where he remained under his employ & tutelage until very recently. He is a skilled samurai and swordsman as well as highly educated in many languages and cultures. Though originally hired as a bodyguard, Nakhu is a talented negotiator and diplomat–all skills taught to him during his time with the embassy, which he has applied to various cons and scams on behalf of his employers.
Leaving Kugane behind for Eorzea, Nakhu followed on the tails of a new, far more idealistic boss. After a brief tryst which ended ultimately in heartbreak, he was left wandering the strange and unfamiliar region, where he had another encounter that would ultimately lead to the conception of a child. However, misfortune still plagued him, and following the untimely disappearance of his lover, Nakhu has become a shadow of his former self, taken to alcoholism and other forms of self-destructive behavior. He now looks to a person by the name of Xiulan Dalamiq, and their partner Batbayar, for a sense of purpose and for a future.
Appearance & Clothing ➺
Standing at a tall seven fulms, four ilms, Nakhu is a large man with long black hair streaked through with premature greying. However, his youth is plain on his face, and his body bears few scars—all faded and barely noticeable against his tanned complexion. His eye is a honey brown, with his right socket having collapsed long ago and making for an ugly sight that is oft hidden behind either a patch or a bandage.
Nakhu is a man of luxury and great indulgence, and his wardrobe reflects as much. He is often adorned in the finest fabrics and cloths, paying homage to his objectively privileged upbringing in the care of the Thavnairian ambassador. Preferring clothes in the Hingan style, he can be seen in a fair amount of haoris and yukatas, though he does have some Western-style clothes that he is wont to wear.
Voice ➺
Deep and silky, Nakhu's voice does nothing to belie his size and stature. His accent is distinctly Thavnairian, even when speaking Old Auri and Hingan, as a result of his embassy tutors.

Nakhu is a rather selfish person who, first and foremost, looks out for himself. He sees political intrigue (whether in Kugane, Ul’dah, or even on the Steppe) as a game to be won and will easily gamble with others’ lives if it proves advantageous to him. Yet towards those he cares about, he is almost fanatically loyal.
