Appearance & Personality
- Primary Motivator
Nan’s primary motivator is Nature. Above all else Nandaux will do everything within his power to be of use to Nophica and all that is her Domain. From limiting pouching in the Shroud to helping farmers with problems in regards to their properties Nan will always due is best to further Nophica’s goals and the number that believe in her.
Secondary Motivator
Nandaux’s secondary motivator is love. Nandaux would do anything in his power to protect his family which includes his wife but along with his wife, Nan considers his close friends and mates in the Harbingers of the Dawn to be family as well.
Emotional Disposition and Moodiness
Nandaux for being someone willing to twist a dagger into a mark when it is required is a very joyful person with an overall Labile personality. If a friend gets hurt or someone breaks the balance of Nature and Elementals Nandaux will feel these things strongly and dish out the punishment required by nature and not necessarily that which is asked by law. Nan is one to do what he feels is right or what is right after contemplation of prayer to Nophica.

Biography
Childhood
- Nandaux Mercier was born into a Keeper clan in the wilds of the Shroud. In a culture where males were not heavily valued he spent the first thirteen rotations of the moons of his life learning various hunting tactics. None of the skills he learned did he particularly excel out, save two…he became a master at tracking prey and gathering information provided to him by the wilds. Those skills alone however would not make him useful enough to the clan to remain. Asked to leave from his homeland of the Shroud his steps would make their way to Ul’dah.
Teenage
- Dust…sand..heat..that is what awaited the young Nandaux in the streets of Ul’dah. Days into nights flew by, hunger his companion, and thirst his lover. Nan scraped by day by day barely getting enough for a toddler to live on much less a growing boy. One day would come though when he realized the very talents he excelled at in the wilds would help him here. He used the shadows of the city to collect information on the various syndicate members and their households. In turn he would sell this information to the other members. Bowl and cup to mouth was all Nan cared about…for who else would care for himself if he did not. Coin poured in doing this, and soon his table was continually filled with food and drink. In addition his bed warmed with body heat. But pride…can cause the fall and do to his pride a mistake was made which led to the syndicate chasing him from the city.
Present
The calamity struck like a hammer as Nandaux was out in the wilds. Although he escaped the bulk of the damage that occurred at some point he got knocked unconscious. It was during this time that he had a dream of Nophica…the details I will not share here. (Refer to the upcoming Journals of Nandaux for more details.) What I will share is from the prompting he got from that dream he began the trek back to the Shroud and more importantly Gridania. Moons passed as he trekked across the forest using his knowledge of wood lore and tracking to achieve life even with his limited talents.
As those moons passed he would finally make his way to a little inn near Quarrymill to await his judgement from the Elementals. While there he met with the Chef Vina. Who spent her days preparing meals for the hunters from their kills along with learning new recipes from those traveling to the inn. A moon passed with the two spending night after night after Vina’s shift learning more about each other. As the moon passed his admittance to the Shroud as a whole was granted, not wanting to leave the area without declaring his love, after much prayer to Nophica he proposed to Vina. As Vina said yes he would spend the next several moons there honing his skills of gathering information from the clientele that visted the Inn. Two more moons would pass before they would wed, Vina choosing to bind herself to the firey passion of Nandaux’s conviction. Given a room at the Inn jobs would soon come in where Nandaux was paid to try and gather various information for the wood wailers or track down serious poachers. With that being said he would eventually receive a vision from Nophica to head for the Lavender beds. Along with his wife Vina he would come to the home of the Harbringer’s of Dawn where he would put in an application to join their ranks.
