Nellaure Larille (known also as Nellaure Tol Larille), born on the 14th Sun of the Sixth Astral Moon, is a Garlean Elezen who once served as the leader of the VIIth Legion's intelligence branch, and was a Tribunus Laticalvius (though really only by name) serving under Nael van Darnus. She was one of the few who belonged to said legion who escaped it's destruction, as she was not present at Carteneau. After Nael's death, she went on to be transferred to the XIVth Legion, and until Gaius's death, served as a researcher or under Nero as an assistant of sorts depending on the time or situation. Due to the desire to continue serving from Eorzea, she is now a low-ranking member of Regnum Garlemald, a small organization made up of a few of what remains of the XIVth Legion stationed there.

Appearance & Personality

Nellaure can be considered petite for her race, and there are some midlanders that beat her in the height department. She is white-haired with red eyes, and is very pale in complexion. She has a scar that runs downward at the middle of her forehead, beginning about an inch from her hairline and ending just a few centimeters before her brow, and more scarring on her left arm from burns.
She is a relatively quiet individual, thinking it better to not speak unless called upon to. Due to this, she is a rather isolated individual and over time, her social skills have suffered thanks to it. But, at the same time, this is the reason her intelligence has soared so high above most others' - as a child and even now, she much prefers to call books her friends. However, despite this, she still harbors a sort of "Garlean pride," and will not suffer to have her name pulled through the mud. This is usually the reason she speaks "out of turn."
By Garlean standards, she is weak of mind, thus why she has hardly any place on the battlefield. While she has toughened up slightly thanks to her accident, she still finds it difficult to fight alongside fellow soldiers, so she much prefers to stay behind and relay information the best she can there. However, she is actively working to toughen herself up as she goes through her training, and thus far has shown some improvement.
She is the type to take any job offered to her. And so when she lost her first job due to the VIIth Legion being nearly wiped out, she didn't mind the downgrade in rank that came with her second at all. Rank doesn't mean much to her, all she desires is to be of some use somewhere, no matter where that happens to be.
She is capable of reading, writing, and to some degree, speaking several different languages, including Eorzean and certain ones originating from the Eastern Continents, making her an expert in translation.

Biography

Nellaure was born into the noble House Larille, one of the few houses of elezen that are classified as such. She is the second of two siblings, Nantain Larille being her older brother and already being 14 at the time. She was heavily sheltered by him, this becoming extremely prominent once their parents began to fight, and as such, lived a childhood of innocence.
Eventually, Nantain moved on to join Garlemald's military as a medicus, and left her on her own not long after she turned 8. Still, she was the innocent little girl who could see no wrong in the world, even when she continuously witnessed her parents' arguments, and the two eventually parted. From the age of 9 to 16, she lived with only her father, the imminent divorce leading her mother to leave the care of the children to him. The heavy sheltering that her older brother showed continued on through her father, and so she grew up believing the world contained no evil. In the end, she was not prepared for what she saw when she joined the military at the age of 16.
The sight of the ravages of war haunted her for years after that. She decided she could not bring herself to fight, and was nearly discharged when they could not find a use for her. However, soon they discovered her aptitude for strategy and intel, and so that became her job. She was assigned to the VIIth Legion, and in a few short years, rose to become the legion's intelligence leader, earning her a spot as a Tribunus Laticalvius under Nael's command, though despite her position, truthfully she was nothing but a glorified Frumentarii, meant to fill in the last remaining tribunus spot, who didn't not work directly with Nael much at all. After a few years' experience, she was about as good at what she did as Nero was - able to pick out spies from a crowd, and if she was able to tap into their communications, sometimes by the sound of their voice - and over time, grew to be about as merciless as he was as well. She would often have them killed on the spot, though she had a couple of Praefectus Frumentarii working under her to do this for her. She kept this position for about 4 years before the White Raven met his end and she was forced from it, leaving her just a worthless body once again.
But, despite the fact that she was now at relative peace until she was reassigned, it didn't last long. She was a victim of an assault (an attempted stabbing, to be more specific), whether it was a spy or a soldier or a civilian that did it, no one yet knows, but in the end, it gave her the scar on her forehead as a result. She ended up stripping the weapon from her assailant's hand and stabbing him with it to defend herself, and he was dead before anyone had come to assist her. This event ended up hardening her, at least to the point where she can fight and kill, but still she remained weak, choosing to avoid such confrontations anyway. She took up training in arcanima for better means of defending herself, though she has not yet mastered this art presently.
Soon after, she found a job working in the XIVth Legion as a researcher, specifically working on the Ultima Weapon for a time. Once she was no longer needed there, she began working for Nero specifically, once again making use of her skills as a Praefectus Frumentarii. She came to dislike this job soon enough however, and for a time, actively searched for a way out of it.
She was at the Praetorium at the time of it's invasion by the Eorzean forces. She managed to escape before it's destruction, however the burn scars on the side of her left arm are a testament that she was not completely unscathed. She was the first of the group of survivors who remained in Eorzea to make the decision that she would rather stay, however she did not forsake Garlemald. She was lead to join the small group Regnum Garlemald soon after she settled, so that she may continue to serve her home while away. She remains in Limsa Lominsa now, waiting for their first move.

The House of Larille

House Larille is a noble house that consists of elezen, one of the few. Those who come from here tend to be primarily magic users, and a fair amount of the military's best medicus and imaginifier soldiers bare the name these days. But, the family isn't particularly noteworthy otherwise, and there are very few who come from this house that have become significant names in the nation's history.
However, one that has made the history books is Nellaure's own great grandfather, who came to Garlemald from Ishgard as a blacksmith hoping to find work, only to become one of the few tasked with the creation of armor for the soldiers. When the military grew and more up-to-date armor designs were called for, he was the one who designed and made said armor, and it was this armor that was the first prototypes of the armor worn by centurions, tribuni, and legati alike to this day, with a few small changes that have been made over time to better suit the needs of the soldiers. It was he that earned the family it's nobility, but even then, he is often not properly credited for his work.
Aside from her grandfather, Nellaure is probably the next most notable person with the Larille name, but even she isn't that well known or respected. This just goes to show how easily missed or ignored her family is, and often they are stepped on and bullied by the other noble houses due to their Ishgardian background and as such, are considered to have impure blood. There was once a rumor that it would be stripped of this title, though this turned out to be untrue, though it remained a fear in the back of their minds for the days to come.

RELATIONS

Romantic Interest     Platonic Love      Good Standing     Poor Standing
Nantain Larille - They share a very close siblings' relationship, one that only grew when he began working for her after she rose to her position in the VIIth Legion. However, he's been pinned as missing since Carteneau, as he was not among the dead. She hopes to find him alive in Eorzea, but so far has had no luck.
Vonteloix Larille (deceased) - She was raised almost solely by her father, and so she respected him quite a bit. However, he died of illness not long after she joined the military, and so he never heard of her accomplishments. She still visits his grave every now and then.
Munira Larille - Her mother was hardly there in her childhood, and all Nellaure saw from her was spite.
