Nikolai Petrilio
"All matter is comprised of aether. We alchemists practice the manipulation of aether, reorganizing and repurposing it to miraculous effects. If a fish can be... broken down, converted to its fundamental elements, is the reverse not also true? Can we not take that selfsame aether, and with it, give life new form? I believe we can... and I will put it to the test!"
Appearance
[[|left|400px]] Hair: Very long, dark brown.
Complexion: Extremely pale, a result of not having left his sick room for 5 years. Despite that, his skin appears very healthy.
Build: Somewhat atrophied. His unique condition preserves him for the most part.
Misc: Having been infused with aether in a mad experiment, he now visibly radiates chaotic elemental energies.
Personality
Nikolai always believed that if you set your mind to something, you could accomplish anything. He never hesitated to take on more responsilities, and did his best to ensure none took note of his exhaustion. Above all, he loved to help people. These traits together made him a very successful doctor at the Phrontistery, and he was often sought by people across the realm for his renowned abilities.
Now, in his rare waking moments, he usually seems confused, prone to bouts of laughter and loosing blasts of unfocused elemental energy. In even rarer lucid moments, he complains of spirits swarming his mind, making it difficult to focus.
Abilities
After saving a small nest egg in his time as an auctioneer, Nikolai focused his efforts almost entirely on bettering his alchemical skills. He took breaks only for special occasions, or to go fishing for more specimens to study. He typically prepared several flasks of explosives and hired mercenary escorts prior to embarking on any trip outside Ul'dah as he otherwise had no combat skills worth mentioning.
