A common face seen around the Ul'dah Coliseum, Nivaar "White Wall" Swann, has been seen fighting in those sands for nearing a year now. While not a tactician, he got his moniker from his fans because the Gladiator is like a wall that does not know when to fall. Generally known as a nice guy, it's been noted that he tends to not look away when someone in need of a helping hand comes his way.

History

Born into the low-life, Nivaar spent his childhood hiding from an abusive father, Alistair Swann, and tending to a sickly mother. He learned how to take a beating quickly and continuously so that his mother would be spared the drunken rampages.

Alister Swann

By the time Nivaar was 15 he had down a system that allowed his father to rant and rage and for both child and mother to escape with minimal bruising. Unfortunately it all shattered when his mother became pregnant. The pregnancy was harsh, but after 8 months, Nivaar had a younger brother: Luca.

Two years passed. Nivaar took on the wrath of their father yet again so his mother and brother could stay safe, even going so far as to shoving, punching, and kicking at his father to get him away from his family. At 17, Nivaar went a bit too far and broke his father's jaw. He was kicked from the house; threatened that if he returned, his father would kill his mother and brother and pin the blame on him. An easy trick since the past two years Nivaar had been the face to the violence in the Swann household. With no place to go and his only skills being that of a fighter, Nivaar was sucked into the Underground lifestyle of Illegal Fighting. At first he just fought to vent out his frustrations and to eject his self-pity and uselessness onto his opponent. However, after four years of brawling in the chalk-drawn circles, Nivaar met a real Gladiator. His name was Dark Horn and he claimed he could turn Nivaar into a real Gladiator like himself.

Dark Horn

It took some convincing, but Dark Horn was able to recruit Nivaar into his training regime. Sadly that year, Nivaar's mother fell ill and passed away. Putting a pause into his training, Nivaar returned home to a bruised and broken Luca. Furious, he unleashed on his father and nearly killed the man, but was stopped by the local guards.

At 21, Nivaar was arrested for assualt and spent two years in jail before he was released into the custody of Dark Horn. Under the watchful eye of the Roegadyn, Nivaar began his training anew with the goal to pay off his debts and his father to become Luca's legal guardian.

Five years later...

Personality

Years ago, Nivaar would have been described as a jumpy, paranoid, and abused child. He stayed as low as possible and stuck to the back as to not draw attention. As he grew older, he got bolder and more outgoing. Many assumed this was because he was tired of hiding and was slowly rebelling against his father.

Years later, at the current date, Nivaar has seemed to taken on the role of a goof-ball. He smiles and is quick to show trust in those around him. Despite this outward personality he seems to be trying to shove into people's faces, he's still the jumpy paranoid kid he was many years ago.
