A young Au Ra woman born to two Doman refugees, Niwa likes to lead a simple life. She finds work as a courier, although this specific job does not pay her bills like it used to, with the increased use of the delivery Moogle system.

Appearance & Personality

Niwa is a small, 4'10" Raen Au Ra with grey eyes, both of which have a white limbal ring around the pupils. Her hair is short - roughly shoulder length, or sometimes a little longer, if she has not cut it in a while. It takes on a white colour, most likely dyed, and sometimes she may also highlight the tips; usually with red or pink, but she also has been known to use blue as well. As with all Au Ra, she has multiple areas of her body that are adorned with scales, an off-white colour to match her Raen ancestry. These can be observed on her face and neck, both of her arms, across her lower torso and her lower legs. In addition to this she has a long, slender tail that tapers off into some spikes at the tip, and once again, with all Au Ra, her horns take the place of ears observed on most other humanoid races.

As far as her personality goes, Niwa is fairly calm, but can be easily overwhelmed under the right circumstances. While she tries to stay collected, she has a habit of keeping herself to herself, and so if she has a problem that she deems to be not important, she often will let it stir until it either dissipates or she can find the time to resolve it. On the other hand, while she does not like to pry into other's personal issues, she will try to ensure the people she is close to are safe and happy, if possible. Even so, she is also a very inquisitive person, spurned on by her parents' tales of Doma when she was a kid; to this end, she believes if someone has a story, no matter what, it is worth telling, and will always lend an ear (or horn) to them to tell it.

On the other hand, while she goes to great lengths to see that those around her are safe and happy, she does not think to take care of herself. More often than she would like to admit, she finds herself in a state of worry or sorrow, and struggles to bring herself out of these ruts, instead opting to tell the others around her that she is fine. She is good at putting on a face, to this extent, but sometimes her facade cracks, leaving her vulnerable to others. She struggles to cope with this, too, not wanting to show her vulnerabilities to others, creating a rather bad feedback loop wherein she kicks herself for being vulnerable, only to make herself vulnerable for longer, to repeat the cycle all over again until someone picks her up out of it.

Additionally, she is a little naive, and will easily find herself roped into someone else's plans, regardless of their danger or general terribleness. At the slightest urging, she will do as is asked of her, even putting herself in great danger, just to please others. Unless she feels absolutely incapable of such a task, she will see that, to the best of her abilities, it is done, and will not give up until it has been, out of fear of disappointing others.

Miscellaneous

• Her true given name, 'Robin', is unusual for a Raen; she puts this down to her parents being eccentrics, although the real reason for her being given the name was because they thought it might help her fit in better in Eorzea. Her parents were Doman refugees, and she was born just a few years after Garlemald invaded Doma, after all. She goes by Niwa because that is what she would have been called were she to be born and raised in Doma; this helps her feel closer to her Doman heritage.
