History

Early Life and Tribe

As part of a nomadic tribe, Nyxefel grew up in many different places as they moved throughout the Shroud. Even when she was little, she often tagged along gathering and hunting groups, gathering plant and mineral in the moonlight while avoiding conflict. While the tribe could not take care of everything themselves, they traded with villages and travelers for what they needed. One such traveler was a goldsmith that was a part of a traveling caravan. From them, Nyxefel's attention to detail enabled her to pick up on the beginnings of how to work metal and bone into jewelry.

Learning to Hunt and Dual Focus

When Nyxefel was old enough, she joined excursions as a hunter, and while she didn't have too much luck with a bow, she had good accuracy with knives, thrown or in hand. This became a trait that saved her on more than one occasion during conflict with Ixal. During one attack, however, she picked up a fallen Ixal shield to help defend her friends. In this way, she ended up choosing both to be a shield and to be a blade, though not at the same time.

While such dual focus might seem strange at first glance, there was a strange synergy in knowing where to strike with a knife to pierce and damage; using a sword and shield instead meant those points couldn't be exploited, but it did force enemies to stay focused on her, rather than her allies.
