Persona

General

Penelope Rundall, otherwise known as Penny by her family and close friends, is a Thaumaturge turned Sage by her passion in Conjuration magic. With a history deep rooted in magic, both destructive and healing, Penelope has grown to be quite the Sage with hidden talent that few know about. She is not among the few that know. Her own talent eludes her, clouded by the constant cheery or depressiveness that comes with her practice. Being a person plagued by goodwill and tragedy all at once Penelope has become a ticking time bomb of destruction and healing. When in her polar opposite moods she has great prowess in destruction magic or great grace in healing aether.

Appearance

Penelope is a average sized Hyur woman standing at 5 fulms and 5 ilms. She weighs 130 ponz and is somewhat slim but not overly skinny - toned and shaped by constant travel and combat. Her hair is brown and as long as her shoulders, possibly longer. It is hard to tell as it is always wrapped in a single braid in the back of her head with strands of her hair left out to frame her face and flow in the wind. With deep blue, ocean eyes Penelope can be seen as truly friendly or daringly intimidating depending on her mood and person that she is talking too.

There is a small, angular tattoo dressed in faded black ink that she received at the end of her teens years during one of her visits in Ul'dah with her father. The backstory behind it is that she was separated from her father during the midday market rush. Being so naive back then she was easily coursed into a shady alley where the powers of dark magic were very much obvious. Still she marched, lured by the promising voice that spoke of powers to rival her father's. Thinking that her father would be proud of her Penelope continued down the alley into the headquarters and shrine of a cult. It was all too late when she wanted to turn back. So, she had to fight and fight she did. She fought hard and eventually overpowered the few weak cultists that were attempting to kill her or sap her mana-energies. The fight didn't come without consequences. From now on, whenever she uses an excessive amount of dark magic or destruction magic the tattoo on her cheek will grow black and burn furiously. Though, the burn only aims to push her onward and still she never does. She thinks the burn is evil and sadistic thus, she always stops casting when her tattoo begins to heat up.

Behaviours

Penelope could be called a bipolar but that term would be somewhat incorrect. Her personalities do not switch in public. In public she is a smart, charismatic and caring woman who acts like an airhead despite her vast amounts of knowledge. When alone she is more deep, dark and brooding - enjoying the darker things in life. She'll dabble in dark magicks and study in books for hours on end when there is nothing else for her to do with her time. Some days she'll disappear completely and will be found in her inn room or in the forests of Gridania seemingly lost in her bottomless depth that is her mind. Being very smart and well traversed in history, magick and travel she'll give anything to constantly be around those that share her interest which can often lead to her fall ins with shady characters, cults and bad crowds in general.

Penelope is a citizen of Gridania and is in the process of acquire her citizenship in Ul'dah and belongs to the Grand Company of Serpents.

Relationships

Family

House Rundall, jokingly called by her friends, was a small family only composed of Penelope, her father, her mother and lastly their pet Chocobo, Endo. The Rundalls have been reduced to only two known living members: Penelope and her mother. Penelope's father is presumed dead with the cause of death have being slayed in the calamity. Things are tight with her mother with little wiggling room. They step on one another's toes as her mother is still grieving and feels that Penelope didn't care about her father enough because Penelope just picked up and moved from Gridania as soon as she was able.

Friends

Flapjack Sassafras (James Blake) - James is a childhood friend of Penelope. They grew up in Gridania together but parted ways once they were able to leave. James' interests and Penelope's interests were too different at the time to allow them to travel together. James wants to study the link between magic and reality, gods and mortals and herbs and aether while Penelope wants to study history, her gods and her aether magic.
