Appearance

A tall midlander with a shrewd gaze and an assertive gait. He favors dark blues and grey silvers, with the slightest touch of red, evoking the dread beast Leviathan emblazoned on his torquetum.

History

Born and raised in the Old World, among the islands of Sharlayan, Phorcys found the isolationism and dogmatic practices of his people stifling and eventually fell in with a band of pirates that operated out of Limsa Lominsa. His training as an arcanist soon led to a position as ship's navagator. After the calamity, the ship's crew disbanded, and Phorcys wandered the five seas, trading his knowledge of navigation for berth and board.
At the behest of a former crewmate, and the news of Limsa Lominsa's growing opportunities, Phorcys returned to his old home port to unlist under the banner of Captain Maelie Nanami as first mate. Not long after, he encountered a fellow Sharlayan ex-patriot, and an astrologion by trade, which brought him over to that school of magic, as reading the stars and foretelling possible futures would surely improve his already formidable navigation skills.

Personality

Pragmatic to the point of shunning idle banter, Phorcys follows his ambitions like a shark to bleeding prey. His Sharlayan roots and affection leave most common sailors in a confused stupor when he does speak with them, and so they let the "wizard" to himself, and chalk this strange words and habits up to the traditional stereotypes.
