“My little knight, you’ll go on to do something great. Your father was the strongest nuhn our tribe has known for a long time, this is a certain fact. I’ll do everything I can to make sure Ul’dah is your playground and the world fits in the palm of your hand. By the Twelve, Khan, you will do great things and I’ll always be proud of you.”

-R’azah to R’khan shortly after arriving in Ul’dah, 1538, Sixth Astral Era

R'khan Tia is a mature character. The themes within his story are intended for a mature audience capable of handling extreme violence, questionable and realistic tropes, and graphic situations.

General Appearance

Cut from a completely different cloth than the majority of his kin, R’khan of the Raptor Tribe stands epitomized by his trained physique that stems from a lifetime in the pursuit of excellence. Whatever he has done throughout his life, he has done with the full intention of trying to be the best at, regardless of any handicaps he might have in comparison to other races. Where others may have come from a place where they had little to lose should they not be the best, stemming from a culture where excellence determines one’s place in the world, R’khan has always had everything to lose.

Standing five fulms, eleven ilms, R’khan easily towers over many of his kinsmen, using his height to get a better look for what lies on the horizon for him. In comparison to his height, R’khan breaks the stereotypical build for the Miqo’te and bears a more muscled, trained physique due to wearing different assortments of armor and wielding an arsenal of weaponry throughout his life that brings his weight to a whopping two hundred twenty-three ponz. If ever were someone to look the part of belonging to the Nuhn cast in tribal society, R’khan had it all on complete lockdown.

At the top of his crown, thick locks of brown and grey stem and stand looking as if they had been kept at their current length by way of blade for far too long. Some of the strands are cut unevenly, as if the only solution that had come to mind to tending to any undisciplined that dared fall in the way of his vision. The grey peppered within matches with the wrinkles around his eyes and forehead, showcasing stress rather than advanced age with the lack of laughlines. Golden, clearly feline eyes rest beneath a thick, broad brow that peer out with an inquisitive flair to them, as if missing nothing in their sight. Cutting right through his right eye is a long, jagged scar that has left some of the golden coloring of the iris whitened in its path, trailing down to his sharp cheekbone before tapering off. In some capacity or another, beneath his eyes, are varying colors of dark-half circles depending upon the day. Upon his broad brow are bushy eyebrows that add to the masculine shape and appearance of his face, defined with clear points by pure genetics rather than tweezing them regularly as there are several strands out of place within them.

Filling out the jawline of his triangle-shaped face is a thick, wooly beard which stands in direct opposite of his untamed eyebrows. Tended to and cared for, his beard stops just under the curve of his chin connecting to his neck and trails up into his hairline. The thickness varies from time to time, but never goes so short as to merely look like stubble. As the rest of him, R’khan’s lips are constantly animated in expression, leaving it completely clear to onlookers what he thinks of any given situation, at least insofar as he wants those around him to know.

The Miqo’te are known for their powerful legs, but never truly recognized for the strength the rest of their bodies can possess, as R’khan boasts a powerful set of broad shoulders and muscled, firm arms that make for holding his ground against even foes far larger than him possible. Defined in his stature, R’khan’s body is firm and taut with large pecs that stand above a tighter, tapering physique beneath that lacks the hardened, superficial flair of abs that so many uselessly boast. Instead, R’khan’s stomach carries with it a small amount of fat, needing strength and stamina in his day-to-day life rather than trying to look like the next model for some Ul’dahn noble’s fashion. Carved across his body in all manner and way are several scars that grotesquely marr his physique from piercings from arrowheads, knives, and what appears to be jagged teeth alongside other assortments of old wounds. Along the length of his stomach and along his back are two sets of curved, jagged points that resemble mighty jaws having once bit down on him.

While there are so many willing to talk about how great they are in Eorzea, there are too few willing to go the distance and prove that they are the real deal. Upon first glances, R’khan is easy to mistake for being bloated with arrogance, hot headed, lustful, and outright boisterous. However, the truth couldn’t be further from that when in quieter interactions and on the road. Living by his own moral code and following a near-strict idea that whether or not his decisions are the right ones, they are his own and they’re right for him. This near-neutrality has guided R’khan down a path that has made several enemies and allies and has paid for his decisions in turn. Quietly, R’khan can showcase a grumpy nature that carries with it a sarcastic wit and determined grit that has only come from a lifestyle of burdened choices and loss.

R'khan Ul'dah.png

Being raised in the bustling city of Ul’dah, R’khan completely understands how the world works from a realistic standpoint, with the weak and poor being trampled on upon the strong. Idealism, however pervades his mentality, allowing him to forget the gritty truths that lay beneath the rug, such as his wishful thinking on the changes that need to take place in places such as his own city-state and Ishgard. Due to this, R’khan has a rather loud disdain for the Temple Knights of the Holy See and that of the Sultansworn.

A professional by all ways to sing the word, R’khan is night and day by the time he claims a job for his own and when he is kicking back in a tavern. When working a particular job, he devotes everything to his work, capable of forgetting weeks at a time when all's said and done just for the sake of completing the task assigned to him for the pride of a job well done and bulging pockets of gil. However, when it comes time to kick off the boots and relax, R’khan proves to be a rather boorish and crude drinking partner, able to sing with the saltiest of sailors and bring an unconventional smile to even the sternest of Ishgardian knights. The man is of pure courage and confidence, undaunted in the face of tomorrow’s threats and trials.

There are often those who rely purely upon advantages of skill or sheer force to get them through their battles, but R'khan falls directly in the middle. Gifted with above average strength - for a Miqo'te - and a student of war throughout his entire life, R'khan an array of savagery and careful strategy that nearly never go hand-in-hand. Whether it is combat with that of a greatsword, battleaxe, longsword, or fist R'khan employs many of the same techniques regardless of the weapon in hand.

  • Darkness: Walking the lucrative path of the Dark Knights of Ishgard, R'khan has tapped into the well of his pain and discomfort, utilizing it as power that manifests in a heinous, entropic flame that feeds off of his own aether like an oil fire. After surviving the Battle of Carteneau, losing the majority of those most precious to him, and enduring the corruption of the Sultansworn, R'khan has taken to the use of the Darkness with ease.
  • Chakra: Years of training alongside Antares Armstrong have strengthened R'khan's body unlike anything he would have originally thought possible. The painful and dangerous training to have unlocked his chakras was walked alongisde his friend and mentor, journeying to several places steeped in aetherial essence in their many travels together. Having unlocked five of his chakras, R'khan considers his training to be near its end, viewing the sixth and seventh chakras as near unobtainable for someone who has not committed every fiber of their being to the craft.

While criticized as unorthodox and ridiculous, R'khan favors the use of his mighty greatsword Moralltach. The hulking sword looks almost completely out of place upon the smaller - by comparison - figure of the Miqo'te, leaving one to wonder how his mastery of the weapon had grown in such amazing strides throughout the recent years. Several times during its use, R'khan's incredible strength has shattered the haft, leaving him to improvise countless other means to handle the superior weight and strength of the sword with that of his own arm and weight upon the flat rather than that of the comparatively feeble hilt. Due to the explosive nature of his aether, R'khan's arms and armor have been steeped in his own lifeblood, tainting his sword most of all with the untold energy. Thus, the blade has proven effective against Voidsent and even that of Tempered and Primal beings.

Personal Timeline

HEAVY CONSTRUCTION!

1536, Sixth Astral Era: R’khan is born to the Raptor Tribe, sired by R’dhex Nuhn and R’azah, in a small settlement along the Abalathian Spine. R’khan was the first son to be born to the newest nuhn.

1537, Sixth Astra Era: Fleeing beastmen attacking the Raptor Tribe settlement, R’azah fled with nothing but her child, never stopping for long until she made it to the border of Thanalan, where she was greeted by a Dunesfolk low noble by the name of Elyilor Quyilor. Trading favors for safe passage, R’azah begun her long career as what would develop into being incredibly profitable simply by using her much sought after body.

1551, Sixth Astral Era: Due to the efforts of R’azah, R’khan is offered a chance to make his way among the Sultansworn. It is during this first day among the other aspirants that he meets one of the most important people in his life: Antares Armstrong. The two are fast friends, often told that they must have been friends or brothers from a different life.

1552, Sixth Astral Era: Early into the year and during their training to become Sultansworn, Antares introduces R’khan to the techniques of his heritage, teaching him the first steps to become a Fist of Rhalgr. These early training sessions outside the gates of Ul’dah would come to shape the man he would later become.

1554, Sixth Astral Era: After extensive training with the other Sultansworn, successful detail alongside several minor nobles, and running detail alongside several banquets hosted by the Line of Ul, R’khan and Antares are both promoted to the rank of Sultansworn Elite and bestowed the trademarked Gallant Armor.

1555, Sixth Astral Era: In the wake of their promotion, R’khan and Antares take to training new recruits to their order, instilling the same beliefs and tenets that were set upon them during their own trials and initiation. Rather than simply regurgitating that which they know, the two set to training each to their own individual strengths.

1556, Sixth Astral Era: In the midst of practicing their art at one of the several Sultansworn training grounds, R’khan opens the Fist Chakra, feeling a swelling of strength within his body that he had never experienced before. Emboldened by the experience, R’khan began to showcase an even further appetite for Antares’ training and the religion it belonged to.

1559, Sixth Astral Era: After years of turning a blind eye to the corruption within the Sultansworn, R’khan and Antares depart from the order on unpleasant terms, leaving several of their now-corrupt students and comrades sour over the two. Rather than simply sign their names to the Adventurers’ Guild, the two enlisted into the ranks of the Brass Blades.

1560, Sixth Astral Era: Near the Statue of Thal in Southern Thanalan, R’khan and Antares’ training is put through the ringer once again, ending with the awakening of his Second Chakra. Having gone through careful means to prepare himself physically and spiritually for the sensation, R’khan’s mastery of the growing font of power comes with ease, regardless of his typically volatile aether.

1562, Sixth Astral Era: Stricken by visions of falling stars, R’khan begins to experience overwhelming headaches. In the wake of his visions and restless dreaming, he begins to find that each day was becoming easier than the one before it, as if the world around him was beginning to make more sense. This displayed itself with an easier time conversing with others and generally being more understanding than he previously was to start.

1570, Sixth Astral Era: After the hurricane of events surrounding the Bull of Ala Mhigo’s unparalleled winning streak within the coliseum, R’khan and Antares joined the Immortal Flames that were founded under his name after rising to a seat within the Syndicate. Serving willingly and proudly, the two enjoyed their place among like-minded heavy-hitters rather than the stale company they had grown accustom to within the Brass Blades.

1572, Sixth Astral Era: The Calamity occurs: R’khan alongside his companions Antares Armstrong and R’ohja Tahl battle for their lives against the advancing Garlean Army. Stuck in the thick of it, R’khan and Antares fight side by side, covered by the precise shots of R’ohja’s bow. It is only due to working together that the three are capable of surviving the horrifying battle and the fall of Dalamud. In the wake of Bahamut’s awakening, the three take shelter beneath a boulder, cowering until the dust had settled.

R'ohja Tahl "Wherever she goes, there's always a mark to be left. I'm honored that she chose me."
While they are little less than a decade apart in age, R'khan's meeting R'ohja was no chance. From the beginning the two of them were inseparable and easily got along with one another, however, it was ultimately the adventures shared with Antares that drifted them apart. In search of proving her own worth, R'ohja set out on her own and has wandered Eorzea ever since the wake of the Calamity with very little contact with her husband.
Antares Armstrong "The closest I have ever had to a brother. I will walk and live for the both of us."
Throughout the years shared with Antares, R'khan has grown and changed beyond that which he might have ever been. The two had shared several adventures and survived countless perils that should have laid the two low. All good things must come to an end, however, and the chance encounter with their former comrades among the Sultansworn brought the Ala Mhigan low. Now, R'khan has vowed to experience and live enough for the two of them, never forgetting his brother.
Kukupora Gugubora "There are many people in Ul'dah that I would never wish to cross. Kukupora is one of them."
Making friends in Ul'dah is one way to get far and another way to end up dead, should you cross them. Kukupora exemplifies this. The dangerous Dunesfolk Lalafel has a thirst for knowledge that eclipses that of some of the greatest Sharlayans, as he delves deep into unknown tomes and forbidden knowledge undeterred. One thing, however, is for certain: R'khan relies on Kukupora when he has absolutely no other choice.
Shiloh Artorian "Unfortunately, this songbird has her wings smashed again and again. The fates are cruel."
Meeting the woman in the Golden Saucer, R'khan has become close with the woman over the years, receiving a front row seat to the misfortunes the woman has been privy to. While never truly doing much to help her avoid it, R'khan has lent his hand time and time again to help her from the ground.
V'ara Kiran [Zenzi nan Vela] "Always surprised to find diamonds in the cesspool of Ul'dah."
Even though R'khan and V'ara had a shaky first meeting, R'khan has felt a magnetism toward the woman. Perhaps in part due to the woman's unfortunate history, feeling parallels to his own in that regard. One thing is for certain, R'khan has added another name to the few list of Miqo'te he doesn't dislike.
Miir Raj'ar "Never sure what to think of this one. Always thrown for a loop when she acts."
Perhaps one of the only souls among his kin that live life along similar lines as he, that he has met thus far, R'khan almost feels a competitive edge toward the woman in the same regard that he would have felt toward a man of his tribe. For all intents and purposes, this does nothing but ensure that R'khan views Miir in a respectable, acceptable light.
Lunai Dotharl "Proof that savagery does not mean brainless. Her sister's keeper."
While she had been much more of a friend to Antares, R'khan has learned to understand why his ally enjoyed her company so much. He never truly knows what to expect from the warrior, but he has clear respect for the honorbound combatant. They are very different, but very much the same in their lifestyles.
Solin Dotharl "People argue that air heads don't oft exist outside the comforts of society. Solin stands in defiance of that."
While she had been much more of a friend to Antares, R'khan has grown fond for the woman with her passionate, enthusiastic personality that lightens most atmospheres, regardless of any clouds that might hang over it. By no means a strategist, compared to her twin sister, R'khan views Solin as the more vicious combatant and thus, the stronger of the two.
Faye Covington "Unfortunately beautiful. A gem in Ul'dah's streets destined to taste the grime."
From the handful of run ins R'khan has shared with Faye, he has begun to form the opinion that the woman is out of place in most situations, exceedingly obvious around the filth and vagrants that parade through Ul'dah's steets. Regardless of seeing the woman on the lower levels, he is for certain by dress and decorum that she should be among the higher levels.
Lafeyette Moumadelle "Trustworthy, but there is something about her I just cannot entertain. I just do not like her."
A chance encounter when R'khan's conjurer of choice was otherwise indisposed introduced the wandering adventurer to the chirurgeon, leaving him more than impressed by the woman's ability to tend to one's wounds, regardless of her disuse of magic. Once was more than enough to form an opinion that the woman was trustworthy enough to be on retainer.

Roleplay Information

R'khan and I are completely different entities. I do my best to never blur the lines of RP and try to keep the people I RP and interact with held to that same standard.
