Raine Felstar, a Hyur born to a single mother in the Dravania Forelands. She spent most of her youth learning white magic from her mother, aunt and grandmother. While growing up in the Forelands she learned respect for the land and to use her abilities to care for its inhabitants. Later the small family would adopt a Xaela girl named Serenite into their fold. The two became like sisters and where one would go the other would follow. However, when her sister was mistaken for a dragon by an Ishgardian Inquisitor, Raine and her family were imprisoned for assisting dragons and witchcraft. While Raine’s family were sentenced to be thrown from the Witchdrop in Coerthas Highlands, she was pardoned for her crimes, seemingly due to her young age.
Upon her release from prison, Raine was informed an unknown benefactor had left her an ample living allowance and secured her a position within Saint Endalim’s Scholasticate. Still under severe scrutiny from the Ishgardian church, Raine felt it best to accept the position, thus aspiring to become a theologian and teacher. Despite being “low born”, Raine was able to gain respect from her fellow students due to her sharp mind and willingness to use her talents as a healer in her charity work. However devote her studies though, Raine could not forget her upbringing in Dravania and held some doubt and resentment towards the Ishgardian church.
After the truth regarding the Dragonsong War came about, Raine decided to leave the church and seek a new life beyond the walls of Ishgard in Eorzea. While on her journey, she discovered a legend about an old Eorzean establishment called “Garden”. Although these Gardens began as a safe haven for orphans, they soon became a military force to challenge even the strongest foes. Believing she could use her talents to help those in need, Raine set out to make her dream a reality.

Brief Physical Description: Behind those glasses, Raine’s determined sky blue eyes hold a steady gaze to compliment her air of authority that is clearly palpable. In her private life this sharpness becomes replaced with a gentleness that seems to reflect a sense of inner tranquility attained only through deep loss. Known for spending much of her time on her personal appearance, she often half-jokingly brags she is physically perfect. Raine has a soft face with high cheekbones, slim nose, and rounded chin to compliment her mischevious smiles. Although her well toned waist, arms, and legs are not to be overlooked, overall she has a full hourglass figure which defines her chest and hips. She is well-known for smoothing her brunette hair into a ponytail, crested with a single braided crown around her head. However, she is fond of changing her hair color and style frequently visits an aesthetician. Always dressed to match the occasion, all the clothing in her vast wardrobe is of superior quality, pressed and tailored to fit. While studying or performing her duties as headmistress she is known for wearing conservative Ishgardian clothing and a peridot ring to display her purity. When she is out hunting or assisting the wildlife near Tailfeather she prefers to wear animal skins in order to blend in with her surroundings.
Philosophy/Religion: On the surface, Raine’s beliefs are less of any one religion, but part scientific and part philosophical. She based her theory on the idea that the universe is a well oiled machine in which all the parts work together and all things, regardless of how big or small, are part of some greater cosmic mechanism. To her, there is a meaning to the lives of all people and an interconnection that leads each person to their fates. Magic, deities, technology, and aether are all just components in the grander scheme in an overall design, according to Raine. Unknown to her, Raine is actually a follower of Hydaelyn, the great Mothercrystal.

Brief History
- 1559: Raine was born in a cave in the Dravania Forelands on 28th Sun of the Sixth Astral Moon, 1549 to a single mother named Morgan Crescentia. Her father is unknown to her and the only hint Raine has to his identity is the last name “Felstar”. Raised in the wilds of Avalonia Falls by her mother, grandmother and aunt, the three women passed on their legacy of white magic and alchemy to Raine.
- 1565: Raine and her mother find an injured Xaela in the forest alone. After taking the girl in and nursing her back to health they learn her name is Serenite Qualli. Her tribe had set sail for Eorzea in order to escape the Garlean forces threatening her homeland. Upon arriving near Ishgard, a band of knights slaughtered her tribe, believing them to be dragonkind. Serenite believed she alone had escaped the massacre thus she was adopted into the family.
- 1570: After being accused of witchcraft and assisting dragons, Raine’s family is imprisoned in Ishgard. Her mother, aunt and grandmother are found guilty and thrown off the Witchdrop in Coerthas Highlands. Due to her young age, Raine is given a pardon for her “crimes” and released from prison. At this time a mysterious, unknown benefactor enrolls Raine in Saint Endalim’s Scholasticate and gives her an extensive living allowance. Seeing no other choice, Raine beings down the path of a theologist.
- 0005: After establishing herself as a prelate and theologist of the Ishgardian Church, Raine begins to focus on her teaching skills. However, when she finds the time she visits the Holy Stables in the Foundation to offer her services to Cevilia.
- 0008?: Raine leaves the Ishgardian church after discovering the truth behind the Dragonsong War. While on her trip to Eorzea, she discovers the concept of Garden while doing research and decides to bring the concept about once more.
Personality
On the surface Raine can seem very conservative and down to business. However, the more one gets to know her it becomes apparent she has a bit of a wild streak.

Trained at an early age by her mother and the Witches of Avalonia in the ways of white magic and alchemy, Raine possesses skill as a field medic. Although she often entertains the notion of swinging a sword, her passion for healing always outweighs the passing fancy. However, she her interest in the Primals of Eorzea has recently developed beyond mere study to practice. Raine currently can be seen toting grimoires as she attempts to summon powerful primal-egi’s.
