Razeiel Venaire "The Dissonant Poet"
A lost soul marching to the point of disrepair. Well hidden amongst the meticulous control of secrets and wrath alike this "poet" is unlike most. What walks today is merely the ghost of what was once a young soul. His art persists in everything, from a lively bar patron to each touch of a freezing hand to another's cheek. All giving the shades of a brighter life then whatever is left within. A world-walker in and of himself Raze seeks to exist with the basic idea of shielding the innocent and slaughtering the non.
Tides, Storms and Flames. Now listen to the world PURGE by their demand."

Pronunciation: Raze-Eel Ven-air (I'm not good at phonetics shush)
Appearance:
Height~ 6' 6
Weight~ 178 lbs
Body: Being a melee-mage has given him a very well defined musculature which allows for agile combat
Hair: Dark blues highlighted with more pastel blues
Eyes: If you're lucky enough to see in the first place, they change dependant on his current state
Skin: Nicely charcoal, for special reasons!
Clothing choices: Primarily, he likes large coats. Often in cloth if he is ever in more leathery type armor it's often solely concerning full range of movement. Heavy Armor is not something he likes in the least, too constricting.
Marks: None that can be seen in common circumstances.
Personality:
The Poet is many-many things... far too many to mention within one paragraph or simplistic explanation. When thinking of him think of an alpha-wolf or a lion, it will make things easier to understand. He is short-fused to say the least as well as exceptionally prideful and egotistical. Oddly enough however while this shows in his actions the Poet, upon meeting face to face is also very gentle and soft in his approach often opting to speak calmly and philosophically. So long as he remains undisturbed he's a very sweet and kind fellow even if he excepts the immediate respect he believes he deserves. He also gives such respect to others immediately and without question.
He never wants to be alone, unless he deems it a necessity and often seeks the company of others even if he's silent the whole time. The distractions of people watching and existing on the outside of other's merriment help to ease his mind and not allow time for any brooding. Likewise he need not hold the room's attention though he may not have any issue in the happening should it occur. Image to him is very important and keeping up a proper physique as cleanliness is something he can obsess over. The though of being muddied would make him cringe...
The romantic side of the Poet is a poisonous thing. To lay with a woman bears him no trouble at all and whilst not a primary goal even in nightly outings it does make for an excellent way to release his aggressions in a more constructive way. Sex is sex, in his case there's no real "love-making" but alas, there's no love left in him to grab onto now is there? He tends to enjoy the strong-willed ladies finding the shy too "pure" for his nightly endeavors and instead opts to take on a protective guardian role over them anyway.
Among everything else, protecting the pure and innocent takes precedence with the Poet and he will lay down his life in doing so if he must. Never will the Poet harm an innocent soul, this is a fact that only the most extreme of circumstances could even possibly change. This is the basis of the Poet's goals and intentions. He may be a vexation on the world himself but he will strike down the "corrupted" one by one so that the pure-hearted and the truly just can live on. He seeks to nurture a world where a beast like he isn't needed.
Alignment: Lawful Evil
Whilst Raze is a chivalrous and giving soul to those whom are on the "good" side of things he has the capability to switch entirely when the "bad" enters the atmosphere and does so without restraint. Say he witnesses a common thief steal someone's coin purse in a market. He would chase the man down and will listen to his reasons. If those reasons aren't "I felt like it" then he'll just scare him out of a life of crime or throw him to the guards. If however the reasons are "I felt like it" then Raze will have no problem melting his face off before throwing him to the guards. Either way, that coin purse will be personally returned.
History Short Version:
Raze himself is only twenty-three, and has lived a short life. He grew up in a very traditional Duskwright household nearby the Black Shroud. He was a devout, respectful and well hearted young man with the penchant for two things: Song and the Bow. Deeply religious he constantly sought divine guidance to the point where his two brothers questioned whom he loved more, Mother or Menphina. As he grew up into his previous role as a Bard he of course fell in love with his sweetheart. The romance was difficult for their families to swallow and the two left off into the world seeking only to find all the most beautiful things. Then came Bahamut. Bravely his love went off to the final battle going so far as to heavily wound him to keep him from going with her. The selfless act ended with her death, she did not survive.
Her body was frantically searched for as the recognizable dead were brought in and the sight of her corpse broke him. The next five years were spent in relative seclusion. In that time he denounced the Twelve entirely claiming they were powerless and worthless. He vowed never to sing another song so long as his love wouldn't be there to hear it. With so much hatred and so much dissonance within him his natural inner aether reacted. Slowly his body was over-run with the stuff, as if the soul had died and aether had moved in to replace it. Thus the Poet was born. Now he seeks to create a world where his love could have lived. He will nurture and shield the innocent and guide them towards greater purpose.
Skills:
Thaumatergy/Black Magic- These are the basis of the Poet all in all. Though his focuses are elsewhere it is merely because this is his natural basic state of combat. It should be noted that Raze is 100% incapable of casting healing spells even though they are part of the usual THM skillset.
Arcanist/Summoner- Being able to take this own aether and call upon it is something Raze takes great pride in. The Poet doesn't summon the very same "Egi" as the rest of the world. Even carbuncle is merely an image that the aether is molded to look like. The Poet's summons come from within in, each one (depending on element) is merely one slice of his soul given shape in the real world. His summons are in no way more powerful then Egi of course and host all the same skills because he has witnessed them. From study he has learned to give HIS summons the same abilities through his own willpower.
Pugilist/Monk- More as an off-hand skill as the Poet often mixes the idea of hand-to-hand combat WITH his destructive force often putting him in the face of the fray with his spells instead of far away. The basic skills allow for HTH combat like blocking and dodging. Not strong enough to actually harm someone with a punch he'll empower his blows with a spell on occasion. Making point-blank fireballs is a favored tactic as is deflecting heavier weaponry with a blast of fire or thunder.
Archery/?- It should be Baric, no? Well yes in his history the Poet was one amazing Bard, very good at what he did in fact however after his lover perished by Bahamut's hands he vowed to never sing again because the very same love would never be able to hear him do so. Since then he has never touched his bow again leaving the skills to just dimish away.
Other skills include the basic mage-type things. For instance he can levitate a small object across the room, cast an identify spell here and there. He is able to create magical binds and locks, as per basic magic skills would imply. He also tends to project colors, able to weave together colors like threads in a massive web creating Technicolor prettiness (Think the Northern Lights).
Weaknesses:
Raze is very squishy. That being said landing one or two good hits on him will take him down very easily. This coupled with his melee-style of casting makes for a dangerous mixture of luck and skill regarding combat.
The Poet is also very stubborn and head-strong. His pride will be his downfall at all time and he can be forced into complete recklessness with a simple insult should it hit deep enough into his ego.
Any form of null-magic effects would near-instantly send him out of commission. Without the ability to regulate all the aether within him Raze would fall to the ground at the mercy of his own aether. Depending on the severity and extent of time of the null-magic he could be out for days or even weeks until he's able to regain control.

Dislikes:

Special Notes:
- Raze is an anorexic:
- Food is the enemy at times in his life especially junk food and sweets. This was always a part of him however once he began to be so aetherical on the insides eating in and of itself became a complex process of trial and error of what his body wouldn't reject. This left him with fruits and veggies. He can't ingest meat and poultry nor can he keep down sugary delights even if he wanted to. Thankfully the same aether keeps his homeostasis regulated for him.
- He actually rarely refers to himself as a "self" or "me" or "I". He prefers to instead refer to himself as "Poet" or "beast" or "monster" depending on current situation and company.
- The aether is such a part of him now that depending on his emotional state, it will manifest. Refusing to call himself a soul anymore Raze merely has three elements that come forth the most and they change based on his emotional state of the time. He often needs to "vent" the excess of the stuff through his breath. The elements within are as follows and more will likely come with character development.
- Tides: Generally this is where he exists. Sorrows, regrets, purpose, drive, sadness. Just some examples of this element. He calls himself a Tidal Poet when this element is showing up and will vent out a frosted breath if needed.
- Flames: Anger, rage, passion, fear and like emotions. He's quick to anger, and he knows it. He calls himself the Burning Poet when this element is showing up and will vent out either steam or embers depending on his level of anger.
- Storms: freedom, inspiration, joy and all those healthy feel good emotions. He calls himself a Surging Poet with this one and instead of breathing out anything, lightning tends to arc between his fingertips.
