Basic Info
Raziek "Blake" Draconis is a short miqo'te male with short hair and a bushy tail. He is naturally a red-head, but will often times have his hair dyed to whatever pleases his fancy. His attire tends to be rather casual most of the time. Even during the cold months, in other city-states, it isn't uncommon to see him with an open shirt or shirtless. The reasoning for this is unknown. He tends to also be flirtatious towards other men, showing no particular preference.
History
Raziek, or "Blake", as he came to be nicknamed, is a young miqo'te male that grew up an orphan on the streets of Ul'dah as a kid--Pearl Lane to be more specific, having blended in with some of the nameless others. That was until, one time, he had dared venture outside of the city walls during his adolescence. With Ul'dah as a primary hub for many adventurers and such, Blake learned to watch, and observe, the more capable of such outside in the fields. Having ventured out too far, he happened upon a lalafel garbed in robes about to become dinner for an axebeak. With haste, Blake found himself driven by instinct and engaged the beast himself. Although the child was nearly killed, he had saved the lalafel.
The lalafel had revealed themselves to be a member of the Thaumaturge's Guild in Ul'dah. Indebted to the young teen, the lalafel had learned that the young teen was without home or reputation. A life for a life, a business deal had been made to adopt young Blake into the guild until he was of age. Blake, while growing up in the halls of the Thaumaturge's Guild, had often seen the practices of thaumaturgy displayed. Eventually, he had soon discovered how to cast Blizzard. Having seen this first-hand, it was Blake's introductory phase into becoming a full-fledged Thaumaturge. From there, Blake eventually went on to graduate as he became a young adult where he holds status as a full-fledged Black Mage.
Becoming of age, Blake set off on adventure himself. It is during the course of these adventures where he happened upon a miqo'te by the name of X'rhun that saw Blake's talent for black magic, and proposed a new school to teach him. Blake soon donned The Red, becoming a duelist under X'rhyn's hand, and it was, too, only a matter of time before young Blake had mastered the red arts. Blake now finds himself within the ranks of a Limsan-based House known as Genisys where he relaxes, gears up for his next adventure, and brings over the occasional male suitor for his private entertainment.
Personality
When alone, Blake is often quiet and observant; however, when in the company of others, it can tend to draw out his more mischevious, brash and short-tempered side. Blake is not a patient person nor is he very bright. Despite his talents as both a Black Mage and a Red Mage, Blake comes off dim-witted at times; however, at his core, Blake is caring of others. Having grown up on the streets of Ul'dah, Blake also has a street-smart sense of business dealings. While lacking advanced business knowledge, he understands profit takes many forms, and has been known at times to blackmail those deliberately attempting to swindle innocent people. Beyond that, he is often a live and let-live person.
Affiliations
The only known affiliations that are directly tied to Blake are his mentors in the Thaumaturgy Guild and his Red Mentor, X'rhun Tia. Beyond that, while he shares a home with his Free Company, he is often traveling about, so he is not well-known even within his own ranks. Talking to them likely gets people pointed in just a general direction of where Blake may be at any given time. Regardless, he has been known to periodically attend events albeit quietly in the back due to his sometimes withdrawn nature.
Rumors/Storyhooks
- Rumor: Rumor has it that Blake makes gil on the side at night sometimes by soliciting his body to other men. Maybe youve witnessed such an interaction yourself, are interested as a potential client or in the business yourself wanting to connect.
- Storyhook: Some may remember seeing Raziek grow up on the streets during his youth. Perhaps you havent seen him in awhile and wanted to get to know how he is doing or make friends with him.
- Rumor: There is a rumor that Blake is rather mischevious at times. A certain tale of popping gil against random mens' rear ends has surfaced suspiciously after a game of truth or dare.
Other Notes
Blake tends to hang out in the Quicksand during his off-time. If you see him in there alone, it is a good indication that he is looking to socialize with people. Due to his somewhat shy nature around strangers, Blake does not tend to initiate conversation with others; however, when conversation is initiated with him, one will find out that he's easy to talk to.
Blake is notably sensitive on his ears and his tail. Touching these, depending on who you are, might provoke a physical assault as it makes him uncomfortable unless you're a male that he fancies. If a friend, ally or female, he'll likely just tolerate it knowing some people cannot help themselves.
