INTRO TEXT

Appearance

Rhoe is fairly rough and tumble girl, with dark purple dagger cut hair and a scar on her face. She normally dresses very comfortably preferring things she can simply throw on to outfits she actually has to take time to put together. She wears little make up and is almost always seen carrying a sword.

History

Rhoe was born in a remote camp site some where on the outskirts of Ala Mhigo to a Miqo'te tribe of outcasts, her mother a former Molkot matriarch left her clan after a disagreement with the High Matriach of her tribe and set off with a few other dissenters into the wilds, the small clan traveled into Xelphatol before ending up in the deserts. There they joined with a small group of Seeker Miqo'te lead by an outcast Tia and despite clashes both culturally and between leaders they managed to come together when Rhoe's mother and the aformentioned Tia cemented leadership positions with the birth of a group of triplets to which Rhoe was the middle daughter. Sadly her Older Brother and Younger Sister did not survive their first winters leaving Rhoe as sole heir.

Raised as a Priestess of Menphina, Rhoe was taught to never take a mate as it was her responsibility to help see to the proper selection of mates for others, though her mothers distaste for half breeds probably fed into her being selected for this role. At the age of 16 she was told to leave her tribe on a sort of coming of age pilgrimage to which she found herself embroiled in the politics of occupied Ala Mhigo and fell in with a group of freedom fighters / bandits named the Corpse Brigade where she learned to fight with a sword instead of her tribes traditional spear or bow. Due to her age she was placed in charge of another group of young freedom fighters, the youngest being age twelve, and told to attack a garlean supply caravan that was suppose to be lightly guarded, however even a lightly guarded imperial convoy was to much for a group of hardly trained teenagers and the group was quickly wiped out, the Garlean officer in charge of the caravan scarring her face with his blade so she would never forget that moment before ordering his men to leave them to the desert. Rhoe fled the Corpse Brigade the night they returned and returned to her tribe and lived there for a year only to be told that she had been enrolled in an academy in Limsa Lominsa and that she was to report there immediately.

Now enrolled in Valbrand Acadamy her world view was almost instantly shattered. Being tossed into "Cultured" Society had her at a crisis of culture between her Tribes ways and the ways of Civilized people and truly had her at a loss. She sunk herself into her studies avoiding all but a handful of other students and faculty and quickly found she had a knack for the mechanical a subject she had picked purely out of infatuation with the head professor. She tried her very best to suppress her feelings focusing on her training as a priestess to do so but ultimately failed and quickly found herself falling for the man. Her life only spiraled from there getting embroiled in the politics of the school and even having to deal with the local authorities due to allegations made against staff at the school. Two people in particular had an intense impression on her during her time at the acadamy one a Professor at the school named Barbarccia Valadis whom took Rhoe under her wing and has been teaching the ways of Civilized Society, and Ryn Wildheart a fellow Engineering student and friendly rival whom helped teach Rhoe the fundamentals of her current work as an Engineer for House Valadis however as shes only had a year of formal training her gadgets and gear leave something to be desired though she works every day to improve them.

Since leaving the school Rhoe has mostly wandered, doing jobs with her friend Elsa Van Mere under the "Van Mere Engineering" banner as well as becoming a Squire in House Valadis.

Personality

Cheerful and excitable, its really very difficult to get Rhoe down or angry. She prides herself in her ability to cheer anyone up and often can be found simply listening to the problems of others. Since her training at the Academy in the field of Engineering she has grained a healthy admiration for things that go boom and will go on at length about formula for making bigger and better cannonballs even incorporating aetheric principles to the construction.

She speaks in very broken Eorzean as she is having trouble grasping the language. She prefers to speak in Ala Mhigan or Garlean if possible simply because she can get her point across easier and often writes her notes for her designs in Garlean.
