River - Chocobo:
S'era's personal Chocobo, issued to her by the Maelstrom. S'era is quite fond of her, and takes her on missions and trips whenever possible. After an incident where a hungry River got into a stash of stolen goods and ate whatever she could find, her feathers changed to a bright red color.
Kid - Young Owl:
A little owl that S'era found while exploring the forests surrounding Tailfeather. The owl became attached to her and River after she saved it from an attack by other creatures, and she could not find anyone else to take it or convince the little bird to go back. Kid is very attached to River, and often stays in the stables with the chocobo.
Cinsah - Female, Miqo'te Keeper of the Moon, Ul'dah:
A daughter of Ul'dah merchants, Cinsah has every intention of living a comfortable life in the city, and is working hard to establish the foundations for her future enterprises. Cinsah and S'era encounter each other while the latter is investigating a small-time smuggling operation that Cinsah is attempting to take over. Despite their differences and disagreements, the pair find they work well together, and establish a limited working relationship. S'era uses Cinsah for information on illegal activity, while Cinsah takes a cut of any spoils before they are reported to authorities. Eventually the two develop a friendship as their viewpoints broaden.
Cinsah is S'era's frequent co-worker and co-conspirator. They enjoy poking fun at and mocking each others backgrounds, likes, dislikes, habits, and so on. S’era might call Cinsah “a wannabe-Qiqirn” and Cinsah would retort with “saltwater hick”. But they work well together and Cinsah relies on S’era to be the muscle for the less pleasant jobs, while S’era often confides in Cinsah because she knows she’ll always be brutally honest.
Marie Rothe - Female, Ala Mighan Hyur, Gridania:
S'era's best friend, Marie is the daughter of an Ala Mighan man and a Gridanian woman. After her parents died fighting with the Ala Mighan resistance, she and her older sister Cara grew up with her mother's family in Hyrstmill. After Cara became an adventurer, Marie learned conjury and tried to assist her, but she eventually chose to put her focus on becoming a teacher instead. When her sister later disappeared, she was distraught and believed it was her fault for not continuing to help. Marie met S'era roughly a year later and gained closure after learning the full story of her sister's death. S'era and Marie later start to work together after the latter decides to re-start her training as a conjurer, and they develop a very close relationship, to the point of considering each other sisters.
Marie is very book smart and more level headed than either S'era or Cinsah. When not adventuring, she teaches at a school in Gridania, and she’s also in charge of the trio’s (very) small Free Company. And she won’t admit it, but adventuring with S'era and Cinsah actually tends to be less stressful than teaching.
Rakamo Wakamo - Male, Dunesfolk Lalafell, Ul'dah - Deceased:
Rakamo Wakamo, though he goes by Raka and only very rarely tells people his full name. He is a Dunesfolk mercenary that S'era runs into during her time in Ul'dah. Later on she starts hiring Raka to join her, Marie, and Cinsah on odd jobs and work, and he also helps train her in hand-to-hand fighting.
Though he is older than the girls, Raka’s personality makes him seem even older than he really is. When he was younger he abandoned his home and family to find glory and fortune and the usual, but came up short on just about everything. Additionally, he served as a volunteer soldier during the battles against the Empire. Though he wasn’t at Cartenau, he participated in other battles and he did see the aftermath of the attacks on Ala Mihgo. Spending time with S'era and the other girls softens his attitude some, and eventually he (reluctantly) joins their Free Company.
Later, Raka joins up with the Crystal Braves, but his bad experiences allow him to be tempted by Teledji Adeledji's extra coin. As a result, Raka is killed when he and a small group of Braves confront S'era and the girls as they are assisting Alphinaud with his escape.
Warrior of Light:
S'era does not know the Warrior of Light personally, but has worked with him/her and the Scions on a few occasions (usually indirectly). S'era, Marie, and Cinsah all participated in the battles on the Steps of Faith, and S'era and Marie later assisted Ishgardian forces in the final battle on the Steps. S'era participated in several fights against the XIVth Legion, she sparred with the Warrior of Light shortly after the conclusion of those battles (instead of Hoary Boulder), and she participated in the Grand Melee on the Maelstrom side. Also, S'era, Marie, and Cinsah indirectly assisted in the Warrior of Light's escape from Ul'dah, and briefly helped Alphinaud Leveilleur as well.
