An Ishgardian Noble seeks out and creates a deal with a group of traffickers. His request was for them to seek out and find the most beautiful and most exotic women they can find so that he would be able to use them as slaves, either for chores or other deviant activities. This led the traffickers to head to the desert sands of Southern Thanalan, home of various Miqo'te Seeker tribes. There, they raided one of the Drake tribes and managed to get their hands on several girls and women, but their fortune soon showed when they found a beautiful Miqo'te woman along with her newborn daughter. Barely several moons in age, the daughter had soft, pale blue eyes, to match with her mother's bold blue eyes. But the biggest reason as to why they were captured was due to the hue of their hair. The Mother had vivid, bright beautiful pink hair, while her daughter had an even more beautiful lighter shade of pink for her own. Together, they were sure to be the picture of "exotic rarity" the Noble was looking for.
Having their prizes, the traffickers made their escape back to the Shroud. As they made their way through the North Shroud, however... a regiment of Ishgardian Soldiers had managed to stop the group in Fallgourd Float. The leader of the group of traffickers had found it odd that they had been pulled aside, so close to their destination. He figured that they had been had. The soldiers performed a search of the wagon that the exotic Miqo'te mother and her child had stowed-away in, and were immediately found. Unable to deny their misdeeds, the traffickers take out their own weapons and prepare to fight, the leader even went so far as to grab the Miqo'te mother and threaten harm to her. The Ishgardian soldiers didn't back down.
Not seeing a way out, there was no choice but for the leader to destroy the evidence of their wrongdoing and to make a getaway. Brutally stabbing the Miqo'te mother, the leader looked to the child for a moment as the woman screamed in agony and, despite better judgmemt, picked up the kitt and made his way to Coerthas Central Highlands while his colleagues dealt with the Ishgardian soldiers. The leader knew that they were had, but perhaps this child could be used as a peace offering to gain shelter under the Noble's name.
Nearby, trained eyes of a shadowed figure followed the man as he ran towards the Central Highlands.
As the man ran on the southern road of Central Coerthas, getting closer and closer towards the Observatorium, the shadowed figure descended upon the trafficking leader and stabbed their weapon deep into him, the poison soaked daggers sinking in. He tumbled, the baby kitt flung from his grasp as it landed, the child screeching in pain. The man tried to stand up, but his body wouldn't move as he realized that he had been paralyzed. The man was then brutally murdered as the last thing he saw was a pair of bright pink eyes, before a stabber was driven into his neck.
The shadowed figure put their knives away and pulled off their mask, an Au Ra woman revealing herself as she quickly rushed over to the crying child to examine her. The Miqo'te infant was bruised and cut over her left eye, as it seemed that the man, in his haste to kill the mother, had damaged the girl as well. Despite the Ishgardian's intervention, she doubted that had she left the child near the Observatorium, the child would be afforded a good life within. Sighing reluctantly, the Au Ra woman had made a decision to infiltrate Ishgard's gates and live inside the sheltered city, foregoing her her own life to help raise the little Miqo'te girl.
Once they had both settled down in the Brume, taking note of the girl's soft pink hair, the Au Ra woman decided that she would name the girl "Sakura".
