Appearance

Her figure is very typical of her house, such as her dark brunette hair and violet eyes. She is slightly shorter than the average Wildwood, though has no qualms with it and it is something that is rarely noted. Thanks to her parents’ upbringing, Seraphine has a lithe body, and moves with grace befitting of her societal standing. Many see Seraphine with a serious expression -often accompanied with few words.

History

An Ishgardian noble by birth Seraphine was raised -alongside her brother- with all the airs and graces a young woman should have. Having been educated in a vast array of subjects from Literature to Politics –by the finest tutors that money could buy no less- she is definitely not lacking academically. Her mother (Renata) and father (Erimmont) were almost certain that she would do well for herself. That she would marry a handsome young Lord, and produce beautiful Elezen children who would carry on the family name. Seraphine also pursued the art of Arcanima, and eventually went on to study the ancient Allagan Empire. She studied the ruins alongside noted archaeologists, eventually meeting her currenty partner, the fairy Astrea. However at a young age Seraphine showed great promise within the military, though as a strategist. She began her training in earnest at the age of 15, and progressed at a prodigious rate. Meanwhile her brother was excelling in his training as a knight. At the age of 18 Seraphine and her brother began their service to The Holy See, and in just a few years Seraphine became a highly commended strategist after winning many a battle against the Dravanian Horde.

As a member of the Arceneaux family, Seraphine is sworn to serve House Haillenarte, and her family's crest is a white iris on a lilac background.

When not committed to the war effort Seraphine serves as a diplomat, and as matriarch of her house.

Personality (WIP)

Seraphine is reserved, and can be said to be quite a serious individual by those who have known her for long speaking quit formally to them. That is not to say she is a docile woman at all. Oftentimes, she will be charming and quick witted when around friends, unashamed to show her fiery nature. Being brought up in Ishgard Seraphine has not seen much of the rest of Eorzea, and is eager to experience the different cultures she encounters. Her desire to see the world has lead her across the city-states, and to many different people (that she loves to draw into her sketchbook).

In large groups she is withdrawn, and often takes a back seat in conversations. However, she listens well and will speak her mind should she be asked or if there is something she disagrees with. The only exception to this would be when she is in command. In front of a war table Seraphine can be a completely different person.

In smaller more intimate settings Seraphine is far more relaxed and open. She feels much more at ease and is often quite a bit chattier, particularly is something piques her interest. It is in these settings that her less serious, more inquisitive nature shows.

OOC Inspirations

For Seraphine I was really inspired by my favourite princess Belle, by Jibril from No Game No Life, and by Kotomi Ichinose from my favourite anime Clannad. I wanted her to be Ishgardian because the city-state fascinates me, and I find the Elezen to emit this aura of sophistication. Her first name is a bit of an homage to a popular book series The Caster Chronicles, and to be perfectly honest her surname was plucked from a wikipedia page that listed French Surnames. Her mannerisms and way of speaking are typically formal, so I suppose I could cite any number of noble characters for that. I think one of my main inspirations was Saber (Arturia) from Fate/Stay Night. Since I really love Fate/.

Astrea (her fairy) as a kind of NPC came from the idea of Reinforce Zwei fron Mahou Shoujo Lyrical Nanoha StrikerS. One of my favourite anime.
