Character

General

Shirlai is a student/aide at the conjury guild, working part time helping students learn the ways of proper conjury, and part time helping adventurers in need, for the right price. Despite her birthplace in Gridania, she spends a majority of her time in Ul'dah, with a small group of rag-tag adventurers she calls her friends. She is currently living with her mother somewhere out in the depths of the Southern Shroud, and spends most of her free time wandering.

Appearance

Shirlai is rather shorter than normal, and a bit on the curvey-pudgey side. Though she lets neither bother her. She has short black hair, usually kept in braids bordering either sides of her face, though sometimes she lets her hair down. She sometimes wears face paint over her cheeks, to represent her family. However, with recent events, she wears the face paint less often. She has an unexplained scar over her right eye.

After her recent "trip" her skin seems to have changed tone, her eye and hair color has been altered, and she bears new face paint.

Personality

Shirlai can be a little on the 'pompous' side. She grew up with a mother who spoiled her all too often, leading to a little bit of entitlement. Though that shell is usually quickly cracked when people she knows come into the the picture. When in a comfortable state, she has been known to be loud and boisterous, even shouting at times. She tends to snort when she laughs.

Combat

General

Despite her being a healer, her combat prowess should not be underestimated. With a group, she is capable of rallying up a formidable army and keeping them upright in even the most horrid of onslaughts. She is a well taught Conjurer, much like her mother, and can wield her staff and magical capabilities with ease. However when it comes to one on one, Shirlai falters just a bit. While her knowledge of offensive spells is limited, she has minor training in the ways of the spear, using the training towards her staff. While formidable, singling her out from her group poses the largest opening to her defenses.

History/Timeline

Shirlai was born into a powerful mother. Qhen Al'gurei was one of the greatest Conjurers of her time. It is said that the woman would have been a White Mage, were it not for her race. She broke new ground in the feilds of healing, and conjury. However, after an unexplained incident, Shirlai's mother ran off to go live in solitude in the depths of the Shroud, leaving a young Shirlai to group up in the Guild, and be forever burdened by the long shadow cast by her mother's triumphant prowess, and her chaotic fall. None but Shirlai know where her mother ended up. Its a secret she'll trust very few with. Now a days, she helps teach the new Conjurer's to the guild, as well as run rounds to protect the Shroud. On her free time, she can either be found leading foolish adventurers into perilous depths for spare coin, or spending time with the strange group known as the Onyx Toramas.

After the Toramas mysterious falling apart, Shirlai took a trip that she doesn't speak much in detail about. Not to mention she came back with a few changes to her appearance and attitude.
