Character

History/General Information

Sicha was born and raised as many other miqo'te had before him: into a tribal home. Few memories remain of his childhood, as he had left the tribe at the ripe age of seven. What little he does remember of his time there is filled with searching for something new, something fresh to pique his interest. Tribal life was just so boring. His family was unremarkable. His friends were unremarkable. His life was unremarkable. So a decision was made one day, out of sheer boredom, that would guide his life from then on. Snatching a nearby spear that he had seen an adult use many times before in both defense and providing, the young boy set out from home without so much as a 'goodbye'. Hunting had looked to be much more fun than what the other children spent their days doing, and so that's what he would do, too! Only... he didn't return, and whether his impromptu hunt was successful or not would remain a mystery to his now-forgotten tribesmen.

Fighting; stabbing; killing was as exciting as he had hoped, each new corpse proving to stave off the ever-creeping apathy from taking hold of his body. Survival was simply a means to an end - that end being his own personal entertainment. The search for interesting, exciting, and amusing events were what drove him, the male's guiding principles being as simple as, "If it isn't fun, it's a waste of time."

The events of Sicha's growth weren't extraordinary by any stretch of the word, though they were not quite commonplace, either. Once he had left his tribe, no time was wasted on the thoughts and memories of those left behind; his time was in the moment, in the nows. Most of those 'nows' were spent finding something or someone to -as he affectionately refers to it- "stab". Fighting and killing had become a favourite passtime, the thrill of battle never dulling no matter how often he felt it.

His life remained the same for many years, his skill at surviving situations he simply shouldn't growing after every near-death experience. Near death was when, and is, he feels most alive, the man striving for that sensation often enough that one might believe him to have a death wish. That sentiment could not be further from the truth; he seeks out death to let him know he is truly alive.

In more recent times, the usually-wild man has been spending more and more time within civilization, sticking around with others for longer than he normally would. He shows little bashfulness, no shame, and speaks his thoughts bluntly. These characteristics often drive others away, but there is a small group that seems to be able to put up with him.

Appearance

Despite his smaller stature for a male, Sicha is a prime example of a miqo'te's more feral of physiques: years of surviving in the wilds - alone - have toned his body into peak form. Every muscle is toned and well-defined; his posture is that of one who knows the extent of his own abilities, ever at the ready to adopt a combat-ready stance; emerald-green eyes offers the cat his often-used night vision; his hair is commonly unkempt, though always slicked back so as not to hang before his eyes. Though he is always seeking adventure and excitement, the male wears a perpetual visage of disinterest, half-lidded eyes betraying the rambunctious and carefree nature of their owner.

As for clothing, Sicha is rarely ever seen without a lance. The weapon is his longtime companion, being the very same he had 'borrowed' from his tribesmen before taking his leave. Blackened steel leg-guards are regularly worn to allow a vital point of his combat tactics some defense. His upper body, however, is sometimes left unprotected, a simple tunic or vest his choice in clothing when a fight isn't the first thing on his mind.

Behavior

Having spent most of his life outside civilization, Sicha's manners are almost nonexistant. He is often called things such as brutish, uncivilized, brash, rude, inconsiderate, and selfish - and these would all be accurate. He cared little for societal standards and norms. Whatever happened to be on his mind, he would have no qualms with speaking it, regardless of what those around him would think. His words are simple, and are spoken swiftly. Many mistake his impaired speech for an accent, when in reality, he merely speaks so quickly that his words blend together.


Sicha follows his own sense of morality, one that others may not particularly adhere to. His life is based around enjoyment, and if he can't find any in his current engagement, he'll simply wander off to search for it elsewhere - often leaving behind anyone he was presently with, ignoring them for his own fun. However, he is not so selfish as to steal all of the fun for himself. Sicha will often strike up a conversation with anyone looking particularly bored, or inviting someone along with him on one of his daily forays into the wilderness in search of things to stab. Part of the pleasure in having fun is allowing others to learn how enjoyable it is. Though he doesn't particularly hate anyone, the male holds a certain respect for those who are, like he, not afraid to do what's needed to get what they want. Especially if a friendly show-of-force is involved. In contrast, he finds very little to like about those who talk up their exploits without anything to show in proof. He appreciates actions, not words. For those on the opposite end of the spectrum, Sicha finds only disgust. More than once he found himself stepping into business that wasn't his own to defend one who was surrounded by many - an unfair fight is enjoyable for none involved.

  • Viola Seville: A thief met in Gridania who challenged him to a game of chance. Managing to win, his prize was a coin similar to hers, and the opportunity to pay for her drinks.
  • Solya Frost: An overly-protective woman whom he was not initially fond of, but whose company he learned to enjoy. Has gained quite the affinity for her due to recent events.
  • K'alera Rihn: A young girl who attempted to scold him on his bad manners, and eventually grew to accept him, which he respected. The poor girl confessed her love for him, but soon thought better of it and moved on.
  • Siera Li'assa: One of those he saw who looked particularly bored, and decided to give a little bit of excitement. She's quite the contrast to he, being shy and soft-spoken, but after proving herself capable of handling combat to him(and after he nearly got her killed) he has grown fond of the woman.
  • Qiha Relanah: "The moon." One of those involved in the unfortunate occurrence of allowing Sicha to see those that are not there. He does not blame her for that, however, and readily accepts her advice.
  • Cemi Jakkya: A woman who he believes has fallen for Sierra, and who he likes to push on the poor mage. She also likes to punch things, which garners his respect.
