Basic Info

"Well....uhh...I'll do my best!" —Silvia Kuroi, when confronted with any situation.

A young Miqo'te woman born to the Seeker of the Sun. She was born in the Noscea area around Limsa Lominsa, in the Zu tribe, where she was raised for the first part of her life.

Naturally awkward and shy, Silvia finds herself more alone than she means to be, as approaching others is too much of a hassle compared to simply sucking it up and doing a task herself...for better or for worse. Although she is not much of a people person, she is still bright and cheery; lively enough to commit to any task with a brazen courage. Of course, that only comes to be a problem, as her innate desire to aid others can often overwhelm her.

Silvia, although born truly as S'ilvia, prefers the full name together, as a way to distance herself from her clan, and acclimate to the far different world that comprises Thanalan. In fact, trying to refer to her as S'ilvia, or even Ilvia, can cause an otherwise cheery Miqo'te to lose her mood completely.

An incredibly energetic girl, Silvia is almost exactly like how some Miqo'te behave: feline-like behaviors are occasionally all too present in her. She can be both impatient and nervous, sometimes rushing through things in an effort to get it done, though she is slowly working this problem.

Before Dalamud's Fall

Birth and childhood (0-10)

S'ilvia Kuroi was born to S'kuroi Nunh of one of many La Noscean Miqo'te Clans. From her birth S'ilvia lived with no idea of who her mother was, or any reason to care, though in some fashion she did yearn to know who her mother had been.. She lived with her clan, sheltered from the outside world and served solely aid her clan and the passing Nunh's. At a young age she witnessed her father's defeat by a far stronger Tia, replacing him as the new Nunh. This display set in motion a small distaste for the clan's hierarchy, as the women of the clan held no position, and the Nunh's would come and go without any care regarding if the new Nunh was more capable than just being able to defeat the previous one.

Her own father hardly helped, as he was more content with drinking and lazing around than deal with his daughter's constant antics for fun and adventure. Seeing how S'kuroi hardly cared upon being replaced, Silvia grew to dislike him as well, as his sloth-like behavior was just as bad as the rest of the clan.

With her distaste for her own home and family increasing, Silvia found herself drawn to the city of Limsa Lominsa, where she could witness the passing-by of many knights, nobles, and other various adventurers. She would find herself content in sitting by the large Aetheryte crystal and simply watch as the many denizens of Eorzea passed her by.

She would heard the tales of various deeds, and slowly her dream was formed: be like them. Travel to the far off lands of the Shroud and Thanalan, where sprites and demons were said to roam. Fight mighty beasts and dragons, as well as strange creatures she had never heard of, but grew to fear anyways.

Whenever she returned home to her clan, from there on out she would spend every spare moment in practicing her swordsmanship with any stick that she could find.

Over time the distance between herself and her clan grew, and the feeling of isolation only made her anxiety worse: making it harder and harder to even speak to her own kin.

Teen Years

As S'ilvia aged, her distaste with her clan continued to grow. She found herself consistently at ends with the ideas of her people, disliking the secular nature of her clan, while she was hardly brave enough to press her complaints. It eventually got too much for the girl, then. At the young age of fourteen, she fled her home one night, fleeing to the rising spire of Limsa Lominsa, and from there, she snuck aboard a chartered vessel on route to Ul'dah, the land she felt would be her new home.

Her goal was to apprentice underneath the Sultansworn, but soon found that to be a near impossible task: she, a lone Seeker, hardly fit for knight's duty, was nothing like the brawny Paladins. They laughed her away at first, when she made it clear she wished to join them, but upon seeing she was serious, they let her try. Two years would pass by, and the constant hazing and taunts, as well as the foul memories or her father, turned Silvia's mind mad. She was furious, angry, and felt her heart darken as she would kill without mercy, brigands and thieves falling to her blade without hesitation.

It would be not longer after she turned sixteen, while hunting a group of brigands in the Shroud, that she was set up: these thieves knew of her, knew that she did not take prisoners, and ambushed her in the heart of the woods. Slicing her open, leaving her for dead as she laid there, bleeding out in the woods.

She was lucky, because the stars did not wish for her end just yet.

Averre Laverre, an accomplished scholar and Astrologian, just happened to be roaming these woods: seeking to understand the Aether of this dense forest area. A healer himself, he heard the moans and cries of a fallen warrior, and was soon to Silvia's side: saving her from the brink of death.

She woke with a groggy mind, in a camp set up by Averre himself. It was that day she gave up the sword completely. She beseeched Averre to teach her these healing ways, deciding she could not continue this road any longer. It was tough, but for three years she learned the ways of Astromancy.

It was not long before Averre consulted the stars, and learned this was destined: and that she was to be a stronger healer, that her Aether capabilities were abundant. Fearing the worst, that Silvia may attempt to open the Seventh Gate, Averre sealed off what he could, so she could never draw enough to harm herself.

Late Teen Years

Averre passed away after Silvia had already turned nineteen, and in turn she received his starsilver globe. It would be there that she would start her own journeys, making ends meet by traveling the world and divining for people, and healing others.

Adulthood

A year later would she meet Sinclair Faye, of the Soul of the Sword, completely by accident. And on that day would she truly become a healer, and make friends, and her story would continue on.
