Character
♦ General
Born and raised in Coerthas, Sonu'a had always been a bit of an outsider. His parents met during his mother's pilgrimage to the stone of Menphina. His father had been badly wounded and his mother nursed him back to health. The two fell in love, despite their different backgrounds and sired their son between two worlds. On one hand, Sonu'a was taught about Miqo'te society in the black shroud, stories about the Autumn War, from near 50 years before he was born danced in the boy's head. His father taught him to be a noble soldier, stressing etiquette and swordsmanship above all else. Growing up the boy had grand dreams of fighting alongside his father and becoming a swordsman but upon the age of 14 he realized that his miqo'te heritage would never allow him to achieve the goals he wanted. Out of protest, he swore to return to the shroud where his kind belong and to become what he wanted there.
The Twelveswood welcomed him, and he felt very much at home here despite the quite obvious problem of not fitting in as he had planned. He was an outsider and did not understand the customs of the miqo'te from the shroud. He had no home but went around where he was to do good works, as he felt it impossible for them to reject him here. He kept abreast of the politics outside the Twelveswood but tried to grasp what he felt his true culture was like. His Ishguardian demeanor and swordsmanship made him quite popular among the clans, although, he would never admit to being from that area.
It was not too long after rumors were spread of a man without a tribe that Sonu'a met two women that would force change his life, Rewo Vhaaza and Rei Niraj. They fought alongside each other and the women eventually accepted Sonu'a as one of their own. All being rather skilled fighters, they found themselves fast friends. Years later, their relationship grew, and both women found themselves pregnant. After discovering that the both were they angrily had a talk with Sonu'a who finally admitted to not knowing how to be a proper keeper of the moon as he was largely Ishguardian. After the rather embarrassing admission that he had misinterpreted Moon keeper society, Rei and Rewo eventually forgave Sonu'a as he swore to take care of the family no matter what.
Sonu'a worked very hard to provide for his two families and was blessed with three children, Rewo's twins Rewo'a and Ari, and Rei'li. Shortly after their birth Ala Mhigo, entered a state of unrest. Fearing a second Autumn War with his children as possible casualties, Sonu'a did everything he could to find a way to prevent the shroud from coming into danger. He joined a cult of assassins that delved into gathering artifacts, convincing Sonu'a that he was preventing what he feared would happen. Sonu'a began to enjoy his job, becoming quite arrogant of his position within the organization.
In the same year that the Garleans took Ala Mhigo, his sons had become infected with the items he hunted, due to his carelessness, and become a target from his organization. Only thinking one of them had been infected, he attempted to take little Rewo'a with him and run from his work. Rewo, not understanding the situation, would not allow this, and moved her two children to a different tribe, separating Rewo'a and Rei'li. Sonu'a, now feeling himself a threat to his family, stayed very distant, only sometimes checking in and providing for his two families. He eventually proposed to his organization that he wanted to leave to which they responded to destroying Rewo's village. Thinking his family to be dead, Sonu'a went back to his organization and worked under the scrutiny of his superiors. He would be tormented by the memory of his family with each target he took out from this point on, letting the rage and longing boil inside him.
In present day, Sonu'a had become infected himself with the artifacts he hunted. In desperation to hide it, he hired the Fashonti family to search out items on his behalf. Mohn Fashonti, their leader, wanted Sonu'a's position within the organization and eventually set up Sonu'a to be taken by a group of those he hunted. Upon being defeated at a battle near the Goblet in Thanalan, Sonu'a was reunited with his sons Rei'li Niraj, and Rewo'a Vhaaza (Leon Greymoon). He has since decided to leave his organization, knowing that his sons are alive. Neither of them seem to trust him, since he worked for an organization that kills people afflicted with the curse that their father allowed them to become affected by. Sonu'a now wishes to prove himself in their eyes and somehow reclaim the life he left all those years ago.
♦ Appearance
Snowy hair and grey skin, this Miqo'te nearing the age of 50 keeps himself fit and well groomed. Dashing, just as much as he was when he was a young man.
♦ Behaviour
Sonu'a laments his past. Realizing that he now has a chance to live with his family and see his sons live as the men he would have wanted to raise, he desperately wants to cling to it. Deep down, Sonu'a has always wanted to be like his father, a knight and live a life of a hero. Slowly, one step at a time, he takes a step from the darkness towards the path of light once more.
