Biography

The mighty Vundu may have taken over ancestral Gundu lands, but they could not take over their pride. A long line of shamans have served the legacy of Gundu Chief Uunu Vanu, even after his death at the hands of the Vundu. Along with their chief, the closest shamans to the Gundu hierarchy perished, leaving Suna Vali and her younger brother orphans.

Suna Vali was raised by her maternal grandparents, the few of her family who were not shamans themselves. Instead, they were herbalists, teaching Suna to connect deeply with both earth and sky. Though she developed her parents' profiency with weather magicks, she used this ability to care for the flora of the Gundu' ancestral lands. However, she'd never learned many combative spells, forced to struggle under the Vundu's grueling oppression. Being subject to their torture for trying to stand up for her brethren, Suna had lost all hope until she'd heard news of Linu Vanu - their chief's son - escaping his sky cage with the aid of his sister, Linu Vali.

Long was Ok' Gundu Nakki kept a secret from the Vundu until a victorious encounter allowed Suna and her family to escape to the floating island on the backs of their sanuwa. Being shy as she was, Suna could never bring herself to work with trade with the Ishgardians until a peculiar Xaela netherling and his sister introduced Suna to the world of botany on the surface of Hydaelyn. To satisfy her ever-growing curiosity, Suna accepted his promise of a scholarship with the Botanists' Guild, sharing a mutual respect of each other's knowledge. By airship, Suna eventually made her way to Limsa Lominsa, hoping to utilize her herbal remedies for the benefit of the netherlings. She was wary of this new adventure, but she couldn't deny she wanted to see where it would take her.

Personality

Attitude

Despite her towering stature to most races, she's rather sweet and gentle. She's endured many hardships as a chick living under the Vundu, yet she aspires to gain the respect of her peers, being the descendant of a long line of Gundu shamans. She's constantly trying to find resources to improve her skills in botany and weather magicks, considering herself closer to nature than she is with most people.

Sociability

Though she can seem stand-offish due to her shyness, she holds a strong desire to expand her circle of friends. She tries not to be too strict with others, not wanting to reflect too heavily on her upbringing. Admittedly, she has a soft spot for children and wishes to treat them with a better childhood than she had.

Expressiveness

Careful and reserved, she adapted much of her social reflexes as a means to survive living under the Vundu. When met with hostility, she's quick to stand her ground. She's not one to hold grudges, but signs of aggressiveness from people, even interpreted, leave a lasting impression on her. Still, she does her best to remain polite to others, even if they do not consider her a friend.
