P E R S O N A L I T Y

L I K E S ■ Merchantry. The excitement of commerce draws her in like a moth to light. Her words rush with a customer in her sights, and the moment they purchase an item she is selling is the moment that her joy bubbles up. ■ Crafting. Her crafts fall hand in hand with her time as a merchant. Nothing is a better feeling than having somebody buy one of her creations. ■ Writing. It is an art she prefers to do in peace and silence. She keeps a journal by her magical tomes, in one of her many bags.

D I S L I K E S ■ Conflict. Be it a competition or a battle, Kaj cannot bear the tension. In a "Fight or Flight" situation, she will almost always choose flight. ■ Sweets. Cakes, cookies, any baked treat, you name it; she will spit it out. Although she'd say she appreciates the gesture, she might break the heart of anybody who chooses to bake sweets for her by gagging and washing her tongue in the aftermath. ■ Attention. A small sprinkle of attention is nothing for her, but when it gets to be that an entire crowd will call her name, she won't stay to hear the rest. This makes being on stage especially unpleasant for her.

M O T I V A T I O N S ■ Coin. She needs the gil if she plans to bathe, eat, or have clothes and shelter. It's not about greed; it's about basic survival. ■ Freedom. Everything has a cost. For her, that "everything" is freedom, primarily. She yearns to feel like a contributing member of society, not a slave who will sacrifice herself to make the rich richer. ■ Humility. Embarrassed about her prowess in arcanima, she chose instead to take up life as a merchant to be a common member of society.

S T R E N G T H S ■ Literacy. Unlike the rest of her peers in the slums of Limsa Lominsa, Kaj made it her priority to receive an education. She risked life and limb to succeed in her studies, even to the point of obtaining gil through odd means for those studies to continue. ■ Casting. The Miqo'te found herself surprisingly skilled in the arcane arts after she ventured to the Arcanists' Guild in a moment of curiosity. While she's no master when it comes to magic, she can certainly handle herself — even with her distaste for battles. ■ Running. Dashing away from every rivalry in the lower decks of Limsa Lominsa has given her quite the edge in speed in her recent years.

W E A K N E S S E S ■ Eyesight. She has poor eyesight, and stubbornly refuses to make use of any correctional resources such as glasses. She wants to recognize herself when she glances into ponds, rivers, and mirrors. ■ Weak. Being physically weak had always made her question herself before she could utilize magic to her advantage. Even now, if she is caught off-guard without a tome, she is guaranteed to lose the spar. ■ Awkward. Ease in companionship has never been her thing. She sometimes struggles to get her point across in common speech, and expresses herself much better through penmanship. Her occasional stutter does not do her any favors.

Q U I R K S ■ Fidgeting. Whether she's sitting down, standing up, walking, or doing anything active, she tends to fidget and shake. Keeping still is not one of her strong points. ■ Nail-biting. Exactly as it says. Whenever she doesn't know what to say or do, this habit comes back to "bite" her in the arse. ■ Slouches. This Seeker isn't one for proper stature. Should anybody remark on this mannerism, she'll stand tall for a minute or two, and fall back into her slump.
