History
T'rahnu Ihka is the third daughter born to a retired adventurer named T'ihka and the second daughter of a warrior named T'korra Kihri. Her parents, an immigrant offshoot of the Condor tribe of Miqo'te, decided to settle in a little-known township on the edges of La Noscea, a fairly peaceful location where they could raise their children unmolested - a far cry from the war-torn region outside of Eorzea that they fled from. While T'ihka himself sired many sons and daughters, T'korra only sired two daughters and a son - T'rahnu and T'ruhna the daughters, T'rohn the son.
T'ihka spoke very little of his past as an adventurer, preferring only to tell of his travels, not of his battles. In stark contrast, T'korra spoke long and often of her trials and tribulations as a warrior, and often challenged her children to live up to her expectations. This often made her come off as abrasive to her children, but had its desired effect - in time, T'rahnu and T'ruhna came to see each other as rivals, the two frequently one-upping one another in their many games. Eventually, however, it became clear that T'rahnu was simply the stronger, resulting in T'ruhna's mounting frustration and swiftly plummeting self-esteem as she failed time and time again to defeat her younger sister - whether it was in archery, sparring, reading, or even simply telling jokes.
Their father was the first to see a problem, and decided to take action before things could escalate further, as it would only be a matter of time before T'ruhna took drastic, life-threatening action to restore her standing. Rather than putting a stop to their rivalry, he instead took another course of action - he encouraged T'rahnu, already well-educated and skilled with a bow, to finally strike out on her own and explore Eorzea. Despite T'korra's insistence that such action was unnecessary, he gave T'rahnu the supplies she would need to survive out in the wilderness, and officially sent her on her way, with all the local tribe to see her off.
She never did find out what happened afterwards, as Bahamut would take her family before she could return.
For the 6 years she had before Dalamud descended, she traveled across Eorzea, proving herself remarkably effective as a lone wanderer, more than capable of taking care of herself on her lonesome. She saw all three of the major city-states, spoke with hundreds of different people, hunted and fished all kinds of animals, and even explored a ruin or two (though she often would not enter for fear of being speared by a hidden terror or two). She even engaged in a bit of thievery along the way, particularly in the city-states, after her first time attempting to do "honest hard work" as a miner and finding it most disagreeable. She knew how to avoid detection and enjoyed exercising her abilities, even if the law did not appreciate it.
Then Dalamud descended, Bahamut escaped, and everything changed. Her former home vanished. Her family was gone. And hundreds of thousands of people, all across Eorzea, cried out in anguish and torment as their loved ones were forcibly taken from them.
It was then that she decided that something had to be done. That she had to help in some way, however small it might be. Her first step was to take up the axe, sharpening her skills for the battles that would surely need to be fought in the future. Then, for the next five years, she would continue her travels across Eorzea, but this time she would fight, and train, to become a warrior who could truly live up to her parents' legacy, and perhaps prevent such a terrible catastrophe from ever occurring once again.
It would take time, however... and in the meantime, she would continue many of her old habits. With her newfound strength as a marauder, she would occasionally rob wealthy individuals, culminating in an incident where she (unintentionally) forced a Keeper boy and his twin brother to evacuate Ul'dah. She engaged in promiscuous acts, eventually siring her own daughter, whom she would leave with the father to continue her travels. All in all, she was never a paragon of morality, and even with her newly found direction, she continues to be the same freewheeling individual she's always been.
Personality
Disposition: T'rahnu is a remarkably laid-back individual. Despite going through many hardships and challenges over the course of her life, she maintains a lackadaisical attitude, an attitude bolstered by her considerable competence when it comes to survival. However, she is more than capable of getting serious when the circumstances warrant it - though her idea of "the right circumstances" might clash with others. She tends to keep strangers at arm's length, simply because she spends so much time traveling that she doesn't often run into the same people more than once. To most people, she will seem quite amicable, though this belies her generally amoral attitude. Slow to anger, T'rahnu does not hold grudges, and has difficulty becoming invested in all but the most personal matters.
Perceptions: T'rahnu was raised on stories of the outside world, and has spent much of her life exploring Eorzea to see it for herself. As such, she is quite worldly and knowledgeable about many things, particularly when it comes to survival in the wilds. She has a knack for reading the intentions of others, a skill that has saved her hide countless times, both in battle and out. She remains quite fascinated by the many different cultures throughout Eorzea and keeps a journal as a written account of her travels. She has a notably blasé attitude towards money, and is not averse to acquiring it in less-than-scrupulous ways.
