General
Akiba no Takeru (Takeru Akiba) is a noble samurai hailing from the far eastern lands of Doma. He has partaken in many things in his 29 years of life, and he claims he has no shortage of things to experience. He has served a place within the ranks of the Garlean Empire several years after occupation of Doma, where his clan was forced to add men to the ranks to lord over the surrounding villages of Yanxia, his position as a spy for the Liberation Front, and has recently fled both positions to Eorzea when the attempt for Doman Liberation failed. Within his own clan, Takeru has achieved two out of the four trials to be named a true master of the blade. Because of this, Takeru claims to be a student of the sword, not a full-fledged samurai if questioned.
One day he shall return home- hoping for a liberated Doma to regain his honor and respect of the Kami, while also becoming a master of the blade within the Akiba clan.
Appearance & Personality
Swathed by the shade of his large parasol, the features of this Auri male were outlined by the streams of light cast by rising sun through the many holes in the waxed paper. The beams of light would trace over a few wrinkles of stress(perhaps even age,) a distinct, three pronged scar marking his left brow, and the now-characteristic frown upon the Raen's face. It was not that he was filled with profound sadness, at least not outwardly, but it was the first thing one could be fixated on.
Perhaps it was the deep pools of blue reflected in his youthful gaze, always eager to drink in a new sight- or was it his bleach white scales that molded his defined face like a kept hyur beard? Oh, or the lack of horns twisting by his face like all Au Ra? No, maybe it was the heavy silk blue robes gathered around him, tightly bound by an obi marked with geometric patterns, holding tight two long katana: one of Garlean origin, one reminiscent of some of the famous smiths of Doma. He was not of Eorzea, surely that would draw the attention of many.
But it was believable most of all that his personality could draw one in. On an accented breath, the sadness that was reflected upon his face would be melted away with a quick joke of his, or advice filled with positive outcomes. He was always wanting to laugh, even if his laugh was quite ghastly and booming loud in any tavern he found himself in. Alcohol may sway his tongue further at the bar, but he always had a quick limit. His major flaw in speech was that he spoke whatever was on his mind even if alcohol was not directly involved, and even with his Samurai based upbringing, even they could not silence Takeru's complaints, obscenities, and crude jokes.
He has an interest in magic, though he fears for his life if were to partake in it. That doesn't stop him from asking 'too' many questions when a magician is involved. Other interests would include anything dealing with food, swords of different kinds, gardening, sparring, and the occasional dabble in the arts.

Takeru Akiba is a major work in progress.
Anything can be changed at any time, though I usually do not revise a character's personality, looks, or backstory after conception. I try to adhere to the lore, so if anything is blatantly incorrect (besides a few headcanon bits) it'll be the first thing to be changed.
My headcanon applies to the Akiba clan, their trials to become samurai, and their participation in the Doman Liberation Front & Garlean Empire.
As for myself, I'm open to Roleplay in most styles- whether it be short or over-arching storied RP - paragraph or short-sentenced RP. RP is RP! Let me know what works for you, and I'll try my best to adjust my writing style so the RP is fun and interactive :) I am a veteran of multi-paragraph RP, but PLEASE feel free to tell me if it's too much! I want to write a story with people, not by myself.
I do however have some guidelines:
- Discussion OOC about fights, events between characters, interactions, and romance is heavily encouraged. I love to talk about my precious dragon boy interacting with other people and making cool stories together! :D
- Any style of RP is okay, be it dark, light-hearted, or somewhere in-between. Any forms of ERP/Romance aren't generally accepted unless I feel comfortable with you OOC, you are over the age of 21, and if I feel like my character would go for it. You are very welcome to discuss anything with me, as stated.
- I do accept death and any form of injury. It can be dangerous sometimes!
- IC does not equal OOC.
